Katy Perry defiantly claps back at haters amid music career scrutiny and Orlando Bloom split

Katy Perry has defiantly clapped back at haters as she performed for a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Monday amid her Lifetimes Tour. The 40-year-old Firework singer - whose split from Orlando Bloom was confirmed in June after nine years together - addressed the audience inside the massive stadium over speculation that she couldn't sell out the 19,500 seat venue. 'They said, "No way! MSG, it couldn't be done." And I was scared, too,' the star expressed, per People. Perry then jokingly added that she had been worried she would be eating a 'hot dog from the corner' instead of taking to the stage inside the sold-out stadium. The mom-of-one then called New York 'special' as well as a 'beautiful hot mess.' She recalled recently arriving to the Big Apple and said 'it smelled like New York City. And you know what I'm talking about.' Perry continued, 'It was late at night. We got in from Philly, and there were drunk people vomiting on the same corner as people making out. That was New York City! And I loved it.' The singer further expressed that NYC 'represents life,' including 'the highs, the lows, the in-betweens, everything that is messy, everything that is beautiful. 'And it sure as hell is not perfect 'cause perfection is an illusion. I understood it because I resonate with it so much, because one of my favorite words is authenticity, and you know what New York is? Authentic.' Perry's response to haters this week comes amid her music career scrutiny and recent breakup from Bloom. The star dropped her seventh studio album 143 in September 2024 - but was panned by critics upon its release. She also garnered backlash due to her collaboration with Dr. Luke on the LP, who was involved in a years-long legal battle with fellow singer Kesha after she sued him in 2014 of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse - which he denied. Earlier this year in April, Perry was one of the celebrities who took part in an 11-minute space mission on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket. The Dark Horse songstress was brutally mocked after she promoted her tour dates while in space and for later kissing the ground as she landed safely back to Earth. The Dark Horse songstress was brutally mocked after she promoted her tour dates while in space and for later kissing the ground as she landed safely back to Earth The all-female space mission notably garnered negative reaction from both fans as well as other celebrities, including Olivia Munn and Emily Ratajkowski. A source previously told Daily Mail, 'Katy doesn't regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it.' However, she did regret 'kissing the ground' as well as the 'close-up camera moments' while inside the capsule. In May, it was revealed that Perry was not invited back for another Las Vegas residency. 'The residency was a disaster for Resorts World, a complete failure,' a separate source told NewsNation at the time. Resorts World Las Vegas - where the singer held her PLAY residency - allegedly lost money to keep her show on from 2021 through 2023. Perry's Lifetimes Tour kicked off in April, not long after her Blue Origin mission. But the concerts have experienced ups and downs thus far, from canceled dates to low ticket sales. The singer's choreography has also been mocked on social media, with some comparing her dancing to 'mom moves.' However, Perry has brushed aside the criticism and backlash as she continues to embark on her tour dates. Later this week, she will make a stop in Newark as well as Baltimore and Raleigh before later kicking off an international trek in September. The Lifetimes Tour will come to an end later this year on December 7 with a performance in Abu Dhabi. This month, Perry sustained injuries after dropping to her knees when a fan collapsed on stage during her concert. She later took to Instagram to reveal her bloody right knee as well as bruises. Perry's split from ex-fiance Bloom came to light in June following their engagement in 2019 and the birth of their daughter Daisy the following year. At the time, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' while also adding that the separation has been 'not contentious' thus far. 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' The Teenage Dream hitmaker was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012. And representatives for the two stars also confirmed to Daily Mail: 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. 'They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.' Late last month in July, Perry was seen enjoying a dinner date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Montreal amid her Lifetimes Tour stop in Canada. And sources have since stated that the pair had an 'instant connection' and are 'interested in each other.' In video obtained by Daily Mail, the pair took part in a lighthearted conversation as they sat across from each other as they dined at the eatery. At one point, the mom-of-one held a small smile on her face as she listened to what Trudeau was saying. Two days later, the former Canadian Prime Minister - who announced his resignation earlier this year in January - was also spotted at her Montreal concert on Wednesday at the Bell Centre. It also came two years after his split from ex-wife Sophie Gregoire in August 2023. The former couple are also parents to three children. A source told People that the pair 'are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes.' And another insider recently told Daily Mail that the pair's dinner outing was simply 'a get together.' 'She hasn't told anyone it was anything more, and she usually wears her heart on her sleeve, so if something were happening, she'd let her close friends know. But right now it is nothing more than friendship.' Following her split from Bloom, the singer 'isn't ready to start dating anyone right now' and is instead focusing on 'healing' from the separation. 'Could that change? Obviously, but the ball is in Katy's court right now. No relationship so far.' Another insider stated that Perry and Trudeau first met at an event and that their dinner date this week was only 'a hangout.' They later added, 'It could develop, of course, but it's not anything more than two single people who had dinner together and like to talk.' The source further explained that Perry 'literally just became single five minutes ago and they haven't even separated all of their stuff yet. She's not going to fall in love with someone new so quickly.' On Tuesday, Perry glammed up in a figure-hugging, navy dress with a white trim on the neckline for a night out in NYC She slipped into a pair of open-toed, nude heels and styled her dark locks into a chic up do as she grabbed dinner at The Pool in the Big Apple On Tuesday, Perry glammed up in a figure-hugging, navy dress with a white trim on the neckline for a night out in NYC. She slipped into a pair of open-toed, nude heels and styled her dark locks into a chic up do as she grabbed dinner at The Pool in the Big Apple. The songstress opted for minimal accessories to allow her outfit to be the main focal point, and added a pair of small earrings. Perry easily carried a mini yellow purse in her hand to hold a few items she needed for the nighttime excursion.

Nick Cannon reveals reason he objects to 'co-parenting' term... after welcoming 12 children with six women

Nick Cannon is coming clean about why he can't stand the term 'co-parenting.' On the most recent episode of his podcast Nick Cannon @ Night, the 44-year-old actor and TV host unloaded on the concept after he was prompted by a listener's question on X (formerly Twitter.) It was an unexpected position for Cannon to take, considering that he is the father of 12 children with six different women, though that also means that few people hear the word 'co-parenting' more than he does. 'Curious to hear Nick's perspective on managing multiple co-parenting relationships while dating,' read the fan-submitted question. 'It's a unique situation that could offer some real insights for blended families.' Cannon — who was recently roasted for launching a relationship advice podcast due to his numerous children and baby mamas — responded on the podcast by admitting he 'always kind of had an issue' with the term 'co-parenting,' as he thought simply calling it 'parenting' should suffice. 'When you start throwing labels on things, I think it does more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you're doing,' he continued, via People. Cannon admitted that he still hasn't 'figured it out yet,' even though he gets plenty of practice with so many children. 'I haven't gotten it all the way right,' he shared. 'But also to your point, if I just step into every situation with respect and compassion and individuality. That's the other thing I always do with anyone I'm involved with in my life.' The Wild 'N Out host also clarified that, when it comes to the women he has had children with, he doesn't like to 'bunch them together.' 'I really try my hardest not to be like, "Oh yeah, my baby mamas," you know, unless I'm telling a joke or something like that,' he explained. 'But no one wants to be grouped into anything. Everyone wants to be treated like an individual with respect and compassion,' he added, before clarifying that he shares his children with six women. Cannon shares his twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, and he and Brittany Bell have three children: sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah and daughter Powerful Queen. Cannon and Abby De La Rosa have three children together, the twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, as well as their daughter Beautiful Zeppelin. He and the Selling Sunset star Bre Tiesi have a son, Legendary Love, and he shares his daughter Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole. Cannon also welcomed two children with Alyssa Scott: a daughter name Halo Marie and a son named Zen, who died at just five months old in December 2021 from brain cancer. The Masked Singer host — who recently admitted that getting a vasectomy would be the 'responsible thing to do' — was joined on his latest podcast episode by the comedian and drag queen Flame Monroe, who asked him if all of the women are on good terms with each other. 'No!' Cannon shot back. 'Do you know six women anywhere that get along?' He opened up about his co-parenting struggles after admitting earlier this year that he might be ready to consider putting a cap on his family after saying for years that he wasn't ready to stop having children. During a March episode of his and Courtney Bee's podcast We Playin' Spades, the conversation took a surprising turn when the former NFL player Ryan Clark began discussing his vasectomy. Nick — who recently congratulated Elon Musk on his 13th child — took the opportunity to say that the podcast felt like 'an intervention.' His co-host Courtney noted that it seemed as if she had heard a lot about Black men getting vasectomies recently, and she wondered if it was a new phenomenon. Nick had an apparent moment of clarity when he admitted — in a bashful tone — that getting a vasectomy was the 'responsible thing to do.' Cannon, who has amassed a staggering 12 children since 2011, gave a surprising update on the possibility that he might get a vasectomy on a March episode of his podcast We Playin' Spades; seen in September in LA However, even if he now acknowledged that it was the smart choice for someone in his position, he remained defiant. 'I'm just — I'm not done [having children],' he added. Fellow guest Channing Crowder also suggested that the physical sensation of orgasm was better without a vasectomy, which Nick also believed, but the procedure doesn't have any last impact on sensation or pleasure, according to Healthline. Ryan shared his own story about why he chose to have a vasectomy. 'I wanted number four,' he declared. 'My wife told me she did not want number four.' The NFL star said he 'had to respect that,' adding that his wife told him, 'I had these babies, so you're gonna help us stop having these babies.' 'Wow, that's an honorable man right here,' Nick added. Later, he was asked if he would have another child with one of the women who had already had his babies. Nick said it was 'honorable' to get a vasectomy as part of a woman's wishes. He has previously spoken about how his 'biggest guilt' is not getting to 'spend enough time with all [his] children'; pictured with Abby De La Rosa, daughter Beautiful Zeppelin and twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir 'I don't know. That's the thing. I leave it to the Lord,' he replied. During his appearance on Dr. Laura Berman's Language Of Love podcast in 2023, Nick previously said he 'lend[s] that type of stuff to God,' and called his children 'miracles.' Although he stopped short of saying that God had told him to have the children, he did say only He would tell him when it was time to stop having kids. Nick previously spoke about the difficulties about spending enough time with all of his children. In November of last year, he joked that he was a 'busy man on Thanksgiving.' In a December 2022 episode of The Checkup With Dr. Agus, he admitted that his 'biggest guilt' was not getting to 'spend enough time with all [his] children.' 'One, 'cause I'm constantly working, and two, because I'm just spread thin,' he explained.

Jax Taylor's surprising answer to wild rumor he uses fake accounts to defend and praise himself online

Jax Taylor surprised fans on Tuesday when he admitted to using a fake account in order to defend himself online. The reality TV star, 46, made the confession on the final episode of The Valley's 3-part reunion, where host Andy Cohen shared some of the comments posted under Taylor's fake name. It was revealed that the Vanderpump Rules alum uses a burner account to both defend and praise himself on social media. His estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 36, previously claimed that he uses the name 'Frank Dremon' in an earlier episode. She alleged he wrote comments like, 'Jax Taylor Ready to Be the No. 1 Guy in the Group' and, 'He's a legend.' Cartwright claimed Taylor once accidentally messaged her from the account, writing, 'please answer the phone like I did for you.' Taylor admitted on Tuesday that he does indeed use the account, after Cohen jokingly asked if 'Frank Dremon' is allowed inside his bar. 'Oh, my burner account? Frank Dremon from Naked Gun. It's my burner account. It's not a big deal,' he said, mispronouncing the name of Leslie Nielsen's character, which is Frank Drebin. Some of the comments from the account were then shown on screen. One read, 'He is a legend!' while another praised him, asking, 'What's it's like to be perfect? He is the show, hands down.' Another one read, 'Show me a man in this world that wouldn't get mad at something like this.' When asked if he's still using the account, Taylor told Cohen, 'No, I haven't used that account in a while.' He then corrected Cohen, saying, 'But it's Dremon, it's Leslie Nielsen from The Naked Gun' though that is not the character's name. Taylor was also confronted about claims that he sold some of Brittany's Jenny Craig bags on eBay. 'I sold a bunch of stuff on eBay ... we have all this stuff we get for merch, it's been sitting in the garage for f*****g ever. A lot of this was during Covid, we need to make some money. I sold a lot of stuff,' he explained. He made the confession on the final episode of The Valley's 3-part reunion, where host Andy Cohen shared some of the comments posted under Taylor's fake name 'Frank Dremon' His estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 36, exposed the account in an earlier episode, where she alleged he wrote comments like, 'He's a legend' and accidentally messaged her He also addressed a claim that he slept with staff at his bar. 'Who? What staff member? Tell me who?' he asked. 'I had two girls that worked there, three people that worked there. There was a rumor, but I've never slept with my staff.' Brittany revealed she 'went crazy on' Taylor because of the rumor in the past. 'Jax Taylor should not own a bar. He's got a lot of issues,' she added. At the end of the reunion Jax shared: 'My main objective here was to talk to Brittany and just to move forward and be peaceful to each there and be amazing coparents to our son and just be peaceful to each other.' 'I know I've done a lot. I'm hoping she can forgive me one day, not saying today, we have to be in each other's lives for a long time and I think I've done a lot. I hope she can find it in her heart to forgive me one of these days.' After Andy asked Brittany if the reunion was 'a good start' for them, she said, 'I don't know. It's hard. It's going to take a lot for him to prove to me that he's changing. I'm sorry, but that's just the truth.' It comes after Brittany claimed accused Jax of being violent towards her during the first part of the reunion, while answering questions about the demise of their marriage and imminent divorce. She alleged that he became 'extremely aggressive' when he found out she had been hooking up with their mutual friend amid their separation. Brittany — who shares four-year-old son Cruz with her ex — said, 'He threw the coffee table, it landed on my knee, it turned black immediately. He threw both bar stools, he threw my Stanley cup and broke it.' And she added, 'He threw my phone and broke it. He threw my laptop and broke it,' before claiming Jax 'threw me into the rose bushes.' When Jax, whom she married in 2019, denied doing it, Brittany hit back, 'Yes, you did. It's on my Ring camera doorbell. My close friends up here have seen the videos.' The mother-of-one then explained why she became involved with their friend, whose name is Julian. The Kentucky native said she and Julian never actually dated, but were 'just hooking up a couple times a week.' 'Maybe it was weird I hooked up with somebody that was in the friend group,' she reasoned before expressing, 'My confidence was at an all-time low. [Jax] degraded me, put me down, body-shamed me constantly.' On the contrary, she said, 'Julian gave me attention that I needed in that moment. He made me feel sexy, he made me feel beautiful. He was what I needed because you made me literally lose my sparkle. And everybody knows it,' according to an account from Too Fab. Not holding back, the former Vanderpump Rules star then gave a specific example of how her husband body shamed her, claiming he 'literally called me a tree trunk because I had stretch marks.' The exes separated in February 2024, with Brittany filing for divorce in August. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Brittany said the divorce proceedings are still dragging out because 'we both didn't send in all of our stuff at the right time. It was a lot of stuff that happened.'
