CM will hold meeting on MIDC issues in Pimpri Chinchwad, says minister Misal
Responding to concerns raised by BJP MLA Mahesh Landge in the ongoing assembly session, Misal admitted to problems in MIDC zones and said a joint meeting would be held soon at the chief minister's office in Mumbai. She said officials concerned from different government departments and representatives from industrial associations would be invited for this meeting.
Landge highlighted that there were a total of 3,470 industrial units in Pimpri Chinchwad.
They faced persistent infrastructure issues such as poor roads, drainage problems and unreliable power supply despite paying around Rs320 crore annually in taxes to the municipal corporation, he said.

She said out of a 68km road network in Satpur and Ambad MIDC areas of Nashik, the administration had constructed 15km of new roads. The minister said the work on the remaining ones had been planned. She said the municipal corporation of Nashik had been directed to start work on the new drainage line to prevent flooding in the area.
Responding to Congress MLA Amit Deshmukh's demand for a standard operating procedure (SOP) to address multi-agency issues in MIDC areas across Maharashtra, Misal assured the House that appropriate action would be taken on the matter.

J&K man abducted in Niger terror attack; family appeals to Modi govt for help; Indian embassy works for safe release
NEW DELHI: The family of Ranjit Singh, a senior safety officer from Jammu and Kashmir abducted during a terror attack in Niger's Dosso region, has appealed to the Indian government for urgent intervention to secure his safe return. Singh, a resident of Chakka Kundi village in Ramban district, was working for Transrail, a transmission line company, when he was taken hostage by unidentified armed attackers on July 15. In a tearful interview to ANI, Singh's wife, Sheila Devi, shared her anguish. 'My husband's name is Ranjit Singh. He works in Niger as a senior safety officer in a transmission lightning company called Transrail. On July 15, I tried to contact him, but since then there has been no communication,' she said. She recounted how, after failing to reach him, she contacted his company, only to learn of a terrorist attack at the worksite. Workers had fled into nearby forests to escape the attackers, and Singh was among those who ran. The next day, on July 16, she received confirmation from her husband's colleagues that Singh had been abducted by the attackers. 'I have no idea in what condition my husband is.
