Airtel's AI Fraud Detection System: Did You Know How Many Users Are Safeguarded In Delhi-NCR?
'In the last 43 days of the launch, Airtel has blocked more than 188,000 malicious links and shielded 106 million users across the country,' the company said. The advanced system, which is automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers, scans and filters links across SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, e-mail, and other browsers.
It leverages real-time threat intelligence to examine over 1 billion URLs daily and blocks access to harmful sites in under 100 milliseconds. 'At Airtel, we are dedicated to protecting our customers from various types of fraud. By incorporating our network with an AI-driven fraud detection solution, we guarantee that our customers are protected from all new threats without requiring any action on their part,' said Nidhi Lauria, CEO – Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh (West), Bharti Airtel, in a statement.
'We consider it crucial to act now to secure the digital environment of tomorrow, and we take pride in being at the forefront of this initiative by providing a safer and more comprehensive network for our customers in Delhi-NCR,' Lauria added.
With Delhi-NCR ranked as one of India's most digitally advanced states, the threat of online fraud has grown. Fraudsters increasingly target users through phishing links, fake deliveries, and spurious banking alerts.
The system can potentially scan links provided in suspicious messages and flag them, as well as block access. The real-time interception acts as a digital shield, protecting families, senior citizens, homemakers, students, and first-time smartphone users alike, from falling victim to all kinds of frauds, the company said.
The AI-driven platform also delivers fraud warnings in the user's preferred language, including Hindi, making it highly effective for a diverse population. The solution operates silently in the background, requires no installation, and is offered free of cost, the company said.

Airtel Prepaid Users Can Try Free Apple Music For Six Months: How To Get This Deal?
Last Updated: Apple Music free offer is available for Airtel prepaid users which has been mentioned by multiple reports this week. Airtel prepaid users in India are getting more freebies and this has been confirmed by multiple reports this month. The operator has offered a free AI offer with Perplexity Pro which is available for prepaid, postpaid and even the broadband users. But the new Airtel offer is applicable only if you use its prepaid services, and have taken select plans from the telco. Airtel and Apple have teamed up for Apple TV+ subscription which is available for a wide range of its consumers. And now, if you use an Airtel prepaid number that is recharged monthly or quarterly, you can make use of the free Apple Music offer from the company. The Airtel prepaid offer for Apple Music free subscription is available to select users through the Airtel Thanks app that works on both Android and iOS devices. You will see an ad banner on your account which gives you access to the Apple music streaming app. Here's how it goes: The new offer has not been officially confirmed but it seems to be gradually rolling out for Airtel prepaid users in the country. Airtel and Apple formed the deal back in February this year, giving its subscribers free access to some of the popular Apple platforms. The deal is applicable for Airtel postpaid and Wi-Fi customers who can try out the Apple TV+ streaming app using their account. The telco says all postpaid mobile users and Airtel Xstream Fibre customers can stream the Apple TV+ content catalogue by choosing select Wi-Fi or postpaid plans. These subscriptions have so far been offered on plans above Rs 999 but now the telco is bringing it for the prepaid users as well. Besides this, Airtel has introduced its free AI plan via Perplexity Pro version that is available to most of Airtel prepaid, postpaid and Wi-Fi users in the country. The Airtel AI offer is claimed to bring features worth Rs 17,000 with its one year plan but a recent post on Reddit said the performance of the supposed free AI offer was less than satisfactory. Jesse Dwyer from the company was quoted denying these changes. 'It is absolutely false that Airtel customers get a different version of Perplexity Pro than our Pro subscribers. India is very dear to us as a company and we would hope to correct this misunderstanding for Indian readers." view comments First Published: August 19, 2025, 12:17 IST News tech Airtel Prepaid Users Can Try Free Apple Music For Six Months: How To Get This Deal? Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, said White House talks suggest there is a 'reasonable chance of ending the war,' which, if it materializes, would make the secondary tariff on India's purchases of Russian oil irrelevant. 'This may turn out to be a positive from the market perspective,' he noted, though he cautioned it would be premature to expect a constructive response from the Trump administration given strained India-U.S. ties, adding that "India has been making tactical initiatives to improve relations with China even while reinforcing the already strong relations with Russia." ADVERTISEMENT On the domestic front, Vijayakumar said the government's policy push on goods and services tax (GST), with signals of next-generation reforms, has boosted market sentiment. 'However, the fundamentals (earnings growth) will take time to respond. A sustained rally in the market will happen only when we have indications of earnings revival,' he said. OpenAI offers ChatGPT Go subscription in India for Rs. 399
OpenAI has announced a new subscription plan for Indian users called ChatGPT Go. The Rs. 399 plan will give users extended access to GPT-5, and the ability to generate more images and analyse more documents and files. Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT, made the announcement on X saying, Go subscribers will get '10x higher message limits, 10x more image generations, 10x more file uploads, and 2x longer memory compared with our free tier.' A blog posted by OpenAI noted that these limits could vary based on system conditions to 'ensure a smooth experience for all users.' Starting today, users can subscribe to the plan by logging into ChatGPT, clicking on the profile icon and selecting 'Upgrade Plan.' They can then select the 'Go Plan' and pay via UPI or credit card. Turley said that their goal had always been to make ChatGPT 'more affordable' as it has been a 'key ask from users.' OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has said on multiple occasions that India is a vital market for them. During his India tour in February earlier this year, he noted that the country was the second-biggest market for ChatGPT with user base having tripled over the last year. Meanwhile, Aravind Srinivas-led Perplexity AI has been steadily gaining ground here having partnered with Airtel to offer a free 12-month Perplexity Pro subscription. This gives 360 million Airtel subscribers access to Perplexity's chatbot. OpenAI has said that the Go subscription will be expanded to other regions eventually.
