Sam left in shock in Corrie as Lily makes unexpected revelation that floors him

Metro3 days ago
A horrific incident at Coronation Street's Weatherfield High School recently left some of the pupils deeply traumatised.
Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) broke out of prison and headed to the school to get his daughter Joanie (Savanna Pennington), who was there for an open day.
Mick is, of course, well known in the local area, initially for being a trouble-making neighbour but more recently for being a murderer. He killed beloved local resident and police officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in cold blood when Craig tried to arrest him.
So when he appeared at the school, his presence was terrifying. Lily Platt (now played by Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) spotted him in the locker room and fled for the safety of a classroom.
Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) then saw Mick walking towards him and panicked. He turned to the room where Lily had just gone, but the door was locked and a frantic Sam couldn't get in.
For Sam it must have also made him think of his mum, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who was shot by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) after he escaped from prison.
Following the ordeal, Nick (Ben Price) tried to talk to Sam about what happened, but Sam wasn't very forthcoming. He did describe how Lily had hidden in the classroom and wouldn't let him in, something that angered Nick and sent him off to have it out with Lily's father, David (Jack P Shepherd).
Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and Nick hoped that Sam would easily get over his ordeal at the school, but that seemed not to be the case as Sam worriedly searched the internet for any mentions of Mick, desperate to know he was safely in custody. More Trending
In upcoming episodes it's Audrey (Sue Nicholls)'s birthday, and the Platts all gather at the bistro for a celebration tea. Sam, however, can't cope and hides away in the office in a state of panic.

Realising that Sam has been deeply disturbed by the experience of being shut out of the classroom unable to escape from Mick, David and Shona (Julia Goulding) tell Lily that she owes Sam an apology for locking him out of the classroom.
So Lily agrees to have a chat with Sam – but what she says doesn't help matters at all. She tells him that she locked him out of the classroom on purpose. Sam is understandably angry with her and the pair are soon arguing furiously.

Tamzin Outhwaite, 54, says she's loving single life as she shrugs off dating apps after split from toyboy ex

Tamzin Outhwaite says she's 'never been happier' after spending the longest stretch of her life without a man. The former EastEnders star, 54, revealed she's loving single life and has no plans to rush into dating, despite recently joining a dating app, following her split from 34-year-old personal trainer Tom Child. In a refreshingly honest chat, Tamzin admitted she struggles to keep up with the app and isn't thrilled at the thought of getting back into the dating scene. She told The Sun: 'I'm single, I've tried the dating apps. I'm on one now but I keep forgetting to check it. 'I just can't imagine actually going on the date and going back to the small talk. It will happen one day but I'm certainly not waiting for it. I've been single for over a year now and I'm loving it too much.' The TV favourite, who shot to fame as Mel Owen in EastEnders back in 1998, hasn't spent this much time single in her adult life, having gone from long-term relationship to long-term relationship for decades. Tamzin explained: 'I owe it to myself to be single, because I haven't been single for this long, ever. I have always been in relationships. I actually like being on my own, it's really nice.' Her break-up with Tom last year came six years after they first got together. Tamzin later described it as the 'most respectful and mature' break-up she'd ever experienced - a far cry from her painful 2013 divorce from actor Tom Ellis, who she accused of multiple infidelities. Despite her growing popularity on screen, Tamzin says love isn't currently a priority, with life as a mum to daughters Florence, 17, and Marnie, 12, taking up too much of her time. And it's not just parenting that's keeping her busy. Tamzin's acting career is booming with recent roles in ITV's The Tower and Channel 5's The Wives. She even joined Strictly Come Dancing's Christmas special last year, though ruled out doing the full series, joking: 'I don't have the patience or the bones at this stage - or muscles.' Tamzin has also taken health into her own hands, revealing that she dropped a dress size before filming The Wives by ditching booze and exercising daily over six weeks. Her break-up with Tom last year came six years after they first got together, which Tamzin later described as the 'most respectful and mature' break-up she'd ever experienced (pictured with ex Tom Ellis in 2012) Now, she keeps fit with outdoor yoga and regular sauna sessions which she says 'without a doubt work'. With a tight-knit group of celeb pals including Amanda Holden, Denise Van Outen and Angela Griffin, Tamzin's got plenty of support as she confirmed that she is in no rush to trade in her independence just yet. Earlier this year the actress showed off her toned figure on Instagram as she worked out on a balcony whilst on holiday in Malta. She uploaded a sped-up video detailing her workout routine in a throwback post from her time in the Mediterranean country. The TV star went through her full routine, stretching her arms, legs and working on her core, as she did some balcony barre. She then braved an ice cold shower after her workout, then showcased her impressive flexibility while stretching and doing some yoga on the deck. The actress later headed to the gym and wowed fans as she performed a perfect headstand before pulling on her cosy white dressing gown for a massage and acupuncture.

Two I'm A Celebrity legends 'set to return' for epic All Stars series

The I'm A Celebrity… South Africa all stars series is officially returning to ITV later in 2025—and not one but two legendary jungle stars are in talks to come back. Starting in 2024, I'm A Celebrity… South Africa reunites old campmates from the ITV game show. This time, however, they're trading the Australian jungle for the desert. Last series saw the likes of Shaun Ryder, Gillian McKeith, Helen Flanagan, Phil Tufnell, and Jordan Banjo giving up luxuries for a gruelling challenge once more. The competition was ultimately won by Myleene Klass, who had originally finished second during the show's sixth series almost 20 years ago… but now, two more famous faces are coming for her crown. According to reports, beloved King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp is close to signing on the dotted line with ITV bosses. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. As per The Sun, Harry, 78, who became the oldest-ever winner in 2018 and was paid £500,000 for his stint, will fly back out for round two in autumn before the series airs in the New Year. 'It's going to be a real coup,' a source told the paper. 'Harry is TV gold and was first on the list of wannabe celebrity contestants.' The football icon's win in the main series was watched by 11million people, with the nation reduced to tears as he was reunited with his wife, Sandra, on the bridge after, having frequently declared his love for her while in camp. Harry's first run for Jungle champ made him one of the programme's high earners, but the likes of Coleen Rooney and Nigel Farage still come out on top, having received a mega £1.5million for their signings. And Harry's people are remaining tight-lipped on his career plans currently, as a spokesperson for the sports star said in response to the rumours: 'This is speculation.' Meanwhile, there's another huge name already attached to the upcoming South Africa series… and it's Gemma Collins. The Towie star and TV personality, 44, is one of the most treasured personalities on British TV, and ITV is apparently hoping she'll boost viewing figures again this time around. Gemma infamously only managed three days in the Jungle when she was last on the show and made no secret of how much she hated every second. 'People who murder get treated better than this,' she famously said before quitting. 'That's the truth. Even a murderer gets fed three times a day.' Gemma's tears and tantrums gave social media a meme collection that still gets used today, so it's no surprise she's wanted back. A source told The Sun previously: 'She hated it first time round, but knows it would be TV gold for her fans if she gave it another go. 'The discussions could go either way, but signing her would be a huge win for execs.' For Gemma fans hoping she'll give I'm A Celebrity a second try, the recent rumours line up very nicely with comments the Dancing On Ice star made in 2019. Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, she said: 'I will never forget getting the call. Looking back, I don't feel I was ready for that show. I was new to TV; I was the underdog on Towie. 'I wasn't the best-looking girl, I didn't have a model figure, I was this car girl from Romford selling cars. I was being put in the Jungle, and in hindsight, I wasn't ready for it.' She continued: I felt hugely out of my depth—I was petrified. If I was to go back now, I've got more experience. I've got a tougher skin now, and I think that's where the GC came into play. If they asked me back, yes, I'd go back.' Things didn't get off to a good start when Gemma went into the jungle in 2014, firstly refusing to parachute into camp with the rest of her teammates. She then withdrew due to panic attacks and later said that her ex-boyfriend, Alexander Moss, had 'severely beaten' her the night before she joined. The reality star said that ITV advised against her entering at first, but Gemma insisted she didn't want to waste the opportunity of a lifetime. Alexander, now 44, was eventually jailed for 21 months in 2019. More Trending Gemma told the Everything I Know About Me podcast: '[There was] all the embarrassment of like, you know what the TV programmes were saying, 'Gemma Collins left the Jungle, she was hungry, she was this.' And it wasn't my fault. 'I can remember lying in my flat where I lived and just thinking, I just want to die. I haven't done anything wrong. I've left the Jungle because of something that happened to me.' ITV has been contacted for comment. I'm a Celebrity… South Africa will return to ITV1 and ITVX early next year. Got a story? EastEnders legend set to make shock return to Walford after 11 years - weeks after two other iconic characters confirm their return to screens

EastEnders favourite Nicholas Bailey will make a shock return as Dr. Anthony Trueman to the soap, more than a decade since he was last seen in Walford. The character – son of Patrick Trueman (played by Rudolph Walker) – will be back on screens in scenes to air in the summer. Anthony first arrived on the Square in 2000 and quickly made waves, thanks in part to a steamy romance with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). Now, 11 years on from his last stint, the GP is set for a dramatic reunion with his dad this summer as Patrick and Yolande prepare to tie the knot. Anthony last appeared in Eastenders in 2014 when he rushed to his father's side when Patrick suffered a stroke. Since then, he has led a life away from Walford but in upcoming scenes viewers will see he is invited to his father's impending nuptials and decides to return for the occasion. In a post on the official Eastenders Instagram account, the long running soap teased the visit to Walford comes at a significant moment for Patrick, which means Anthony stays longer than he originally intended. In a statement, executive producer Ben Wadey said: 'It's great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. 'But Anthony's plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household.' Nicholas who will reprise the iconic role added: 'It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I'm full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. 'It's wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he's such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long. 'I'm excited to see what the passage of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.' Fans took to the comment section to share their excitement for the new return and penned: 'Bring him back for longer. He was a good actor and good for the show.' 'Fantastic news. I'm loving this new era' 'OMG!!!!!! I can't wait for this he's aged like fine wine'; 'Wow, this is now getting so good'. MailOnline has contacted Eastenders representatives for comment The return of Dr. Trueman comes hot on the heels of other major soap comebacks. Michelle Ryan recently reprised her role as Zoe Slater after two decades away, and Jake Wood is set to return as Max Branning in explosive future scenes. The British actor, 52, who last appeared on screen in February 2021, said he is 'over the moon to be coming home to Walford'. He said: 'I'm over the moon to be coming home to Walford. Max has got lots of unresolved drama with many characters, so I'm sure he'll be busy. 'I'm excited to see what he's been up to, and what is next for the character, but if his last 15 years in the Square are anything to go by, I'm sure there will be plenty of chaos.' Max is reportedly set to return to the BBC soap in autumn, before making a permanent return later in the year. During his first stint on the soap, Jake became a fan favourite amongst viewers, with his character Max being at the heart of several huge storylines. The 2007 Christmas Day episode where it was revealed that Max had an affair with his daughter-in-law Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has become known as one of the most chaotic festive specials ever. Michelle, 40, best known for her iconic 'You ain't my mother!' moment, made her first appearance in June, after her return was kept under wraps. On the return the episode hadn't been released on BBC iPlayer at 6am that morning, meaning all viewers had to tune into the evening broadcast, where Zoe's return was unveiled.
