Varanasi: The Kashi Vishwanath Temple was bathed in an aura of profound spirituality as a sea of devoted pilgrims congregated to pay obeisance to Lord Shiv on the auspicious occasion of the first Monday of the holy Shrawan month.
Throughout the day, the sacred precincts resonated with fervent chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' as the faithful offered ardent prayers to the deity
As the ethereal notes of the 'mangla aarti' faded away in the early morning hours, the revered sanctum sanctorum of the Kashi Vishwanath temple swung open its doors, inviting the faithful to partake in the sacred 'jharokha darshan'. Devotees, arrayed in lines stretching from Maidagin and Godowlia, were greeted with a gentle cascade of flowers as they awaited their turn to enter the majestic Kashi Vishwanath Dham to offer 'Jalabhishek'.
The area around the temple remained heavily crowded with pilgrims and saffron-clad kanwariyas. As the devotees patiently waited for their turn, commissioner of pPolice Mohit Agrawal, district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, temple's chief executive officer Vishw Bhushan Mishra and other officials showered petals on them at different points. Officials, especially the CP, could also be seen seeking feedback from pilgrims and kanwariyas on the arrangements.
The temple administration has stopped the process of sharing the footfall of devotees on an hourly basis this year. The CEO said that as per the decision taken by the temple trust and administration, the entire figure for the Shrawan will be released after the end of the auspicious month.
A majestic, specially adorned processional idol of Lord Shiv captivated the devotees as they navigated the zig-zag barricades within the Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
To ensure a comfortable experience, authorities provided extensive amenities, including German hangars and sheds to shield visitors from the elements. Additionally, they offered glucose, ORS solutions, and drinking water to keep devotees hydrated.
Medical aid and lost and found services were also readily available. Keeping in mind the arrangements for the devotees coming from all over the country, the administration has ensured ample drinking water counters, medical help desks, lost and found centres, and other facilities and security arrangements in the temple area.
The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust ensured all possible and necessary arrangements for an orderly and smooth darshan.
To cater to the large gathering, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple administration arranged a live telecast of the sacred rituals on LED screens within the temple premises and at six other strategic locations, including the railway station, Godowlia Crossing, and ghats. This allowed pilgrims and kanwariyas to witness the ceremonies in real-time, making their wait in long queues more meaningful.
The darshan will also be available worldwide via YouTube live streaming, allowing devotees across the globe to see Baba Vishwanath during Shrawan.
Earlier, continuing their tradition, Yadav Bandhus reached the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in large numbers to offer 'Jalabhishek'.
As most of the ghats along the river Ganga have been submerged, men in khaki kept extra vigil there to avoid crowding of devotees collecting Gangajal for offering 'Jalabhishek' at various temples. A huge crowd was also evident at all other temples of Lord Shiv, including Markandeya Mahadev on the Ganga-Gomti confluence at Kaithi, Tilbhandeshwar, Kedareshwar, Onkaleshwar and Tilbhandeshwar. Jageshwar, Rameshwar, Shooltankeshwar, Kardmeshwar, and Mrityunjaya Mahadev.
The temples reverberated with Vedic chants, accompanied by the sounds of conch shells, bells, and hymns.

Inside Ahaan Panday's palatial house in Mumbai: Four-floor mansion with separate flats for staff, game room, and cameras being monitored by dad Chikki
Mumbai is often known for cramped spaces, absence of anything like a balcony, and small houses. But that definitely isn't the case with Ahaan Panday's family house in Mumbai. The Saiyaara actor, who must be on the top of the world celebrating his debut film, lives with father Chikki Panday and mother Deanne Panday. Previously, his sister Alanna gave a tour of their palatial mansion in Mumbai on her YouTube channel. Spread across four floors, the house is gigantic as her father hosted Alanna's wedding here as well. Parts of the house were seen in Amazon Prime Video's show The Tribe as well. Alanna started the tour by telling the viewers that previously, the entire Panday family used to stay together, which includes Chuunky Panday's side of the family as well. She then revealed that she didn't have fingerprint access to get inside of the house, as she now resides in Los Angeles with husband Ivor. However, Ivor, who was also a part of the video, shared, 'But my fingerprint works, so I got it; don't worry.' A post shared by Team Ananya Panday (@ananyapandayuniverse) As they get inside, we see a huge front yard with an equally large dining table in the middle of it. 'If you have watched some of our YouTube videos, you might recognise this part of the house. We had our engagement ceremony in here, the bridal shower, and even our haldi ceremony happened here.' ALSO READ: Ananya Panday's cousin Alanna Panday wants to name her future kids after 'water bodies', her son's name is River: 'Let's name the next one Coast' Alanna explained how the entire family loves nature, and that's why the house has a lot of plants, and in fact, one of the seating areas in the front yard is wrapped around a tree. She shared that the entire staff that works in the house live in flats constructed by her father, and these are a part of the property as well. She said, 'My dad made these for them because if they lived inside the house, they wouldn't have a place they could call their own. This way they can decorate it the way they like and make the place feel more personal.' We then move into the house, where we see a small decorative pool, but it has been emptied out because, according to Alanna, the 'pets think that it's their own pool', so they can't fill it up with water anymore. She showed the audience two separate living rooms facing each other, as they constantly keep having people over and they need a lot of seating. ALSO READ: Ananya Panday's cousin Alanna and her husband Ivor are making 'three times the money' by joining hands than they did separately Alanna then showed the dining table of the family, which she thinks is 'useless' because everyone eats dinner at separate times, and they only use it for really formal dinners or gatherings. The house has a big skylight at the top, and it has been kept at an angle so that the harsh sunlight of the summers doesn't affect the temperature of the house. Alanna showed the fans several outdoor spaces spread across the house as she goes up the stairs and explains how her father is a bit paranoid. 'He has cameras and fingerprintscanners everywhere; he is a little bit paranoid. Whenever we are working around the house, I and Ivor always say, 'Chikki is watching.'' Alanna then showed the viewers the game room, which she said, 'doesn't match the vibe of the rest of the house because Ahaan and his friends hang out there.' Ahaan also made an appearance in the video. He opened the door as his sister began to explain what they were doing and asked him whether they could see his room. Ahaan said, 'You want to show everyone my room? I think you will like it; it's very beautiful right now. Just give me one second,' as he proceeded to shut the door and lock it. Alanna tried knocking again but turns away defeated.
