Leinster GAA launch new discounted ticket plan for semi-finals

Irish Examiner23-04-2025

Leinster GAA are marking their first senior football semi-finals outside Croke Park in 30 years with incentivised group passes for this Sunday's games.
After cutting the price of an adult stand ticket for their first round games to €15 from €25 earlier this month, the province have released offers for the Dublin-Meath and Kildare-Louth fixtures in Portlaoise's Laois Hire O'Moore Park and Tullamore's Glenisk O'Connor Park respectively.
A stand package comprising 20 children (U16) and four adults is available at €160. A terrace deal for the same numbers is €150. An adult stand ticket is available at €30 and terrace €20 with general juvenile admission priced at €5. The offer represents a saving of between €30 and €60.
Sunday will be the first time since 1995 that the two semi-finals have been held outside Croke Park. The combined attendance for the games is expected to exceed the 21,957 crowd that were at the Dublin-Offaly and Louth-Kildare double-header in Croke Park 12 months ago.
Explaining the rationale for moving the games outside Dublin earlier this month, Leinster chairman Derek Kent said: 'The prime reason for that is we have great provincial grounds, we haven't been filling Croke Park like we thought we would over the last number of years, and I will also say it will give a better experience of the Leinster football championship.'
The €15 ticket deal for the opening four games of the competition reportedly contributed to a 40% increase in attendances.
Applications for the packages can be accessed here.

Ticket sales heading towards 30,000 for URC final in Croker

TICKET SALES ARE heading towards the 30,000 mark for Saturday's URC final between Leinster and the Bulls at Croke Park. The first batch of tickets went on pre-sale to Leinster season ticket holders and registered URC fans yesterday morning and it's understood that 18,000 were snapped up quickly. Advertisement The URC final then went on general sale this morning and the uptake has continued. As things stand, tickets for the top tier of the 82,300-capacity Croke Park are not available and that will only change if overall sales surge towards and beyond the 40,000 mark. Saturday's final will be broadcast by TG4 and Premier Sports, with kick-off at 5pm. While the Bulls have suffered a big blow with number eight Cameron Hanekom ruled out of this weekend's clash, Leinster are hoping to have at least a couple of players back from injury. Garry Ringrose [calf] and Josh van der Flier [hamstring] may return, although Hugo Keenan [calf] and Tadhg Furlong [calf] are deemed less likely to return at this stage. Leinster said they will make a final decision on that quartet's fitness later this week, but Caelan Doris, Robbie Henshaw, Will Connors, and Brian Deeny will definitely miss out.

Weekend fixtures confirmed as Kildare get Newbridge double header

The revamped Cedral St Conleth's Park will host a Kildare double header on Saturday. Fresh from their superb Joe McDonagh Cup final win over Laois, the Kildare hurlers are back in action six days later as they face Dublin in the All-Ireland preliminary hurling quarter-final in Newbridge, which, at the very least, will act as a useful barometer for manager Brian Dowling ahead of their return to the Leinster SHC in 2026. The game will have a 4pm throw-in and will be followed by the Kildare footballers' Tailteann Cup quarter-final against Offaly, which gets underway at 6.30pm. It will be the third meeting of the counties this year after they were paired together in this morning's draw, with Offaly beating Kildare in round six of the League and again in the Division Three final at Croke Park. There's another repeat of a League final with Wexford travelling to Limerick, who beat them in the Division Four decider. That quarter-final will take place on Sunday at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. The other two quarter-finals see Wicklow entertain Westmeath in Aughrim, also on Sunday afternoon, with Fermanagh at home to Sligo on Saturday. The Laois-Tipperary hurling preliminary quarter-final will be played on Saturday afternoon at Laois Hire O'Moore Park at 1.45pm as O'Moore boss Tommy Fitzgerald faces the difficult task of getting his players up for a game against top tier opposition just days after losing a season-defining game. Tailteann Cup quarter-finals Saturday, June 14 Fermanagh v Sligo, Brewster Park, 5pm. Kildare v Offaly, Cedral St Conleth's Park, 6.30pm. Sunday, June 15 Wicklow v Westmeath, Echelon Park, 1.15pm. Limerick v Wexford, TUS Gaelic Grounds, 3.45pm. All-Ireland hurling preliminary quarter-finals Laois v Tipperary, Laois Hire O'Moore Park, 1.45pm. Kildare v Dublin, Cedral St Conleth's Park, 4pm.
