MasterChef Junior's Jordyn Joyner's special cornbread recipe
HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Jordyn Joyner, a Greensboro girl who starred in Season 9 of MasterChef Junior, swung by the FOX8 Studios to show off her special cornbread recipe.
1 box Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust for desired sweetness)
2 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
1/4 cup sour cream (optional for extra moisture)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional for extra flavor)
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the Jiffy mix, egg, milk, sugar, melted butter, sour cream, and vanilla extract (if using). Stir until just combined—don't overmix!
Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with butter or honey!
