Best aggressive hybrid mutual funds to invest in July 2025
mutual funds
or schemes that invest mostly in equity and debt fare better in an uncertain or volatile environment. Mutual fund experts believe that the markets are likely to be cautious and investors should also proceed with caution.
Aggressive hybrid funds are one of the popular hybrid mutual fund categories. These schemes are mandated to invest in a mix of equity (or stocks) and debt. As per Sebi norms, these schemes must invest 65-80% in stocks, and 20-35% in debt. This mixed portfolio helps to deal with the market volatility better. When the equity market is in turmoil, the debt part of the portfolio softens the blow. This helps new investors to continue with their investments without worrying too much about volatility.

If you are bothered about the uncertainties and volatility in the market, you can consider investing in
aggressive hybrid mutual funds
. Mutual fund advisors typically recommend aggressive hybrid fund schemes to 'conservative' equity investors to create wealth to achieve their long-term financial goals.
A 'conservative equity investor' is not the same as a conservative investor. A conservative investor doesn't want to take risks at all. These investors typically park their money in bank deposits, bonds, etc which give them predictable returns. A conservative equity investor is ready to take risk, but he or she doesn't want too much risk and volatility. So, a conservative equity investor typically wants to grow wealth without exposing her investments to too much volatility.

Mixed portfolio
Another advantage of investing in these schemes is their mixed portfolio of equity and debt. In order to maintain the asset allocation, the fund manager would constantly book profits, and this will boost the returns. Suppose the equity allocation has gone beyond the original plan in a bull market. The fund manager would sell the stocks to maintain the allocation. This profit-booking, over a long period of time, would enhance the returns.
Sure, you can do such an allocation and create your own mutual fund portfolio. However, when you book profits, you may have to pay taxes on gains of over Rs 1 lakh in a financial year. A mutual fund, on the other hand, is not liable to pay taxes. This again would help investors to enhance their returns.
Now that you know about these schemes, here are the points you should remember before deciding to invest in aggressive hybrid funds. One, the mixed portfolio of these schemes helps you to limit volatility and create wealth over a long period. Two, regular profits booking would help these schemes to boost profits. Three, they offer a tax advantage. Lastly, don't rely on regular dividends from these schemes to draw up a regular income.

However, you should always remember none of these factors make aggressive hybrid schemes risk free. Any scheme that invests a minimum 65% in stocks, can't be risk free. Stocks are risky. So, you should be prepared for some volatility in the short period.

Methodology
If you want to invest in these schemes, you may be interested to know how we chose these schemes. Take a look at our methodology:
ETMutualFunds has employed the following parameters for shortlisting the hybrid mutual fund schemes.
1. Mean rolling returns:
Rolled daily for the last three years.
2. Consistency in the last three years:
Hurst Exponent, H is used for computing the consistency of a fund. The H exponent is a measure of the randomness of NAV series of a fund. Funds with high H tend to exhibit low volatility compared to funds with low H.
i) When H = 0.5, the series of returns is said to be a geometric Brownian time series. These types of time series are difficult to forecast.
ii) When H is less than 0.5, the series is said to be mean reverting.
iii) When H is greater than 0.5, the series is said to be persistent. The larger the value of H, the stronger is the trend of the series
3. Downside risk:
We have considered only the negative returns given by the mutual fund scheme for this measure.
X = Returns below zero
Y = Sum of all squares of X
Z = Y/number of days taken for computing the ratio
Downside risk = Square root of Z
4. Outperformance
i) Equity portion:
It is measured by Jensen's Alpha for the last three years. Jensen's Alpha shows the risk-adjusted return generated by a mutual fund scheme relative to the expected market return predicted by the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). Higher Alpha indicates that the portfolio performance has outstripped the returns predicted by the market.
Average returns generated by the MF Scheme =
[Risk Free Rate + Beta of the MF Scheme * {(Average return of the index - Risk Free Rate}
ii) Debt portion:
Fund Return – Benchmark return. Rolling returns rolled daily is used for computing the return of the fund and the benchmark and subsequently the Active return of the fund.
5. Asset size:
For Hybrid funds, the threshold asset size is Rs 50 crore

Sambhajinagar police nabinvestment scam ringleader
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In a major breakthrough in the several crore LFS investment fraud, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city police arrested Dilipkumar Maiti, director of LFS Share Broking Company, from Kolkata on Friday. The arrest is linked to a pan-India scam where over 6,000 investors were defrauded with false promises of high returns. According to the police, the company lured investors by offering returns ranging from 20% to 36% and swindled them out of over Rs 1,000 crore. Maiti, previously in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for separate financial offences, was handed over to city police on July 17 and was remanded in their custody till July 22. In Maharashtra, the scam caused a loss of Rs 35 crore, including Rs 3 crore from city-based investors. The city police registered a case in Feb this year, acting on a complaint filed by investors who were duped by company agents Vinod Mane and Vinod Salve. The EOW previously arrested another company director, Syed Ziajur Rehman, in connection with the case. Police authorities said, "The EOW will seek formal approval to seize and auction properties owned by the accused outside Maharashtra. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You To Read in 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo We identified 16 properties linked to Maiti and co-accused Anarul Hussaini. Nashik: Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde has asked Nashik's municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri to ensure the civic body carries out works to regularise drinking water supply to Cidco and neighbouring areas by appointing new valve-men, address the city's parking issues, and repair roads excavated for gas pipeline installation. ₹5,000 per box and counting: Himachal's apple season begins with a bang as quality fruit reigns
Apple growers in Himachal Pradesh are upbeat as early varieties of the fruit are commanding impressive prices in wholesale markets. With the apple season kicking off early this year, traders at the Dhalli vegetable market in Shimla say farmers are earning between Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 per 20-kg box, depending on quality and ripeness. Roshan Sharma, a local apple grower, said he received Rs 2,000 per box for the early "Spur" variety. I got Rs 2,000 for a 20 kg box of Spur variety apples . If people don't bring unripe fruit to the market, quality fruit is getting good prices. Since the universal carton was introduced, rates have improved. The season is expected to last longer this time. Everything depends on the weather and road conditions. We mostly send our apples to local mandis like Dhalli and Solan and are happy with the current prices," he told ANI. Narendra Thakur, a trader operating from Dhalli Mandi at Bhatakufar, highlighted the strong beginning of the season, stating that over 1 lakh boxes have arrived in just 20 days. "This time, early varieties like Tydeman and Spur are coming in good quantity. Growers are getting great prices. Some early foreign varieties fetched up to Rs 5,000 per 20 kg box. Rates are ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. Farmers are advised not to bring under-ripe apples, as the market penalizes poor color and immature fruit. With universal cartons now standard, quality has improved. If the rains continue, the season will likely extend. But unripe produce is affecting market prices negatively," he said. Live Events Ashok Kumar, a buyer who procures apples for markets in Kathmandu (Nepal) and Bihar, echoed the sentiment and praised the quality this year. "The produce is good, and the rates are also satisfying. Farmers who bring properly ripened apples are getting great deals. I have already bought 10,000 to 15,000 boxes, mainly Royal, Red- Gold, and Tydeman varieties. The season has started on time, and I hope both farmers and traders benefit equally. When the fruit is good, everyone wins," Kumar told ANI. According to market estimates, over 10 lakh apple boxes have been sold across Himachal Pradesh's major mandis by July 18. With favorable weather and disciplined harvesting, stakeholders remain optimistic for a strong and extended apple season.
