Footage emerges of Daniel Dubois partying before Oleksandr Usyk fight
Stunning footage has emerged of the party which saw Daniel Dubois turn up late to his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.
Many within the boxing community have blasted the gathering - which was reportedly put on Dubois' father Stand - as a 'disruptive' interference with the heavyweight star's day. 'Triple D' sparked fears after he pulled up to Wembley Stadium just after 8:20pm - 90 minutes before he was scheduled to make the walk to the ring.
Dubois went on to suffer a brutal knockout defeat in the fifth round. The Brit struggled to get into the fight. And - despite having some success in the fourth round - was dropped with a right hand before being sent crashing to the canvas seconds later with a stinging left, which forced the referee to wave off the fight.
Prior to his bout with Usyk, footage has emerged of Dubois' dad throwing a party in his Essex home just hours before the fight. It has been reported that around 70 people attended the bash - some of whom 'Triple D' didn't even know. A video - which has gone viral online - shows Dubois being mobbed by partygoers at his house while music plays in the background.
Further reports state that the 27-year-old left the home and briefly went for a quick drive. His father later drove him to Wembley after private cars - which were accredited to enter the area around the national stadium - were used to transport guests to the venue.
That only delayed Dubois' arrival as the car they travelled in was not accredited and he did not get into the venue until 90 minutes before the scheduled ring walk time. Usyk turned up slightly earlier to watch his good friend and teammate Daniel Lapin compete on the undercard. There were also chaotic scenes when entering the venue over getting some of those party guests into the venue with Dubois held up in the middle of it all.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Joseph Parker, Lawrence Okolie and Spencer Oliver were all left stunned by the reports. "That is insanely disruptive," said Joseph Parker. "I'm very surprised, I'm shocked. That many people over? You're preparing for a massive fight. You need rest, you need to chill, you need to get in the zone, and he's got this big party happening."
Lawrence Okolie concurred: "The problem is, it's coming from someone that he looks (to) out of the ring. It's coming from his dad. I've trained with him, his dad's a huge part of his life, so that is obviously going to be disruptive," while Spencer Oliver added: "We're talking about fighters being regimental and superstitious on the day, some fighters want to wear a ring in their laces and all that stuff. It all has to be on point for you to go in there, any little thing can throw you off track."
When is Daniel Dubois' next fight?
Whether the constant delays on the day of the fight affected Dubois' performance remains to be seen. As for what's next for the young Brit, his promoter Frank Warren has advised 'Triple D' to take six months off and learn from Usyk's mental resilience if he wants to make it back to the top.
Warren stated: "You've got to learn from defeats, I mean that's what life's about, isn't it? You know, not everything goes your way, you got to come back, it's the mark of a man if he can do it, and we'll see if he could do it.
"He's got to resurrect himself. That's what we've had to do. That's the story. Usyk a quality, quality fighter, he has a great boxing IQ, and he's got the most unbelievable mental attitude. That's what makes him. That's what Daniel's got to learn from. Try and get and develop the mental attitude that Usyk has."

Evidence Man Utd's £74m Benjamin Sesko deal isn't a total gamble as Jude Bellingham beaten
Manchester United are closing in on the signing of RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko, and one of the striker's statistics that beats out Jude Bellingham may reassure fans that the move is no gamble Incoming Manchester United recruit Benjamin Sesko is the top scorer under the age of 23 in Europe's five biggest leagues over the past two seasons. Ruben Amorim appears to be getting a new No. 9 in the form of RB Leipzig star Sesko, who is the subject of a £65.3million bid from the Red Devils, which could rise to nearly £74m if certain add-ons are achieved. Premier League rivals Newcastle have also shown interest in the striker and have put forward a more lucrative proposal than United's, but the 22-year-old's preference is a move to Old Trafford. Sesko is currently training separately from his Leipzig colleagues, according to a statement released by his club, and while some have expressed doubts about his abilities and hefty price tag, his goal-scoring statistics speak for themselves. Over the last two seasons, no player under the age of 23 has scored more goals than Sesko in Europe's top five leagues, as he's netted 39 in just 87 matches, reports the Manchester Evening News. This puts him one goal ahead of Real Madrid and England sensation Jude Bellingham, and five goals ahead of Florian Wirtz, whose summer transfer to Liverpool could set a British record if certain add-ons are met. In fourth place on the list is Bayern Munich phenom Jamal Musiala, who has racked up 33 goals during this period, followed by PSG's Bradley Barcola and German ace Maximilian Beier on 26. Sesko's impressive goal-scoring record, outperforming some of Europe's top young talents, will be a welcome sound to Amorim's ears. It suggests that the 22-year-old won't be overwhelmed when he arrives in Manchester, and United are fully committed to Sesko, having already agreed personal terms with him. Current Red Devil Rasmus Hojlund, who also scored 26 goals during this period, underscores the gap between him and Sesko. Despite not being entirely goal-shy since his £72m move to Old Trafford in 2023, the Dane has struggled to meet high expectations. Now, it seems likely that Sesko will join United, and Hojlund is reportedly prepared for the possibility of being pushed out if the Slovenian signs. Just two seasons after his £72m transfer, Hojlund could be available for as little as £30m, less than half of what was originally paid for him. However, during United's pre-season tour of the US, Hojlund expressed optimism about his future, stating: "I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. "I'm still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I'm only 22. Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22 (like Erling Haaland). But I've learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. "I'm starting to develop and become even better in the basics. Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season so far. Just focusing on continuing that. "Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes. I think it's good with competition and it only sharpens the team."

Liverpool's Alexander Isak transfer plan given £165m boost as he honours Newcastle request
Alexander Isak is having to train away from his Newcastle team-mates in the afternoon amid continued interest from Liverpool, who are in negotiations to see more players exit Anfield Liverpool target Alexander Isak arrived for Newcastle training after being told to train away from the first-team with the Reds' recent activity potentially funding their next bid for the Swede. Isak has made it known to the St James' Park hierarchy that he wants to explore a move away from the club and Anfield is seen as his likely destination. The striker missed the club's pre-season trip to Asia and Eddie Howe has taken a firm stance over his conduct. The frontman is not training with the first-team and has been told not to report in until later in the afternoon when his team-mates had left - which he duly did amid the ongoing speculation around his future. Isak recently took himself off to his former club Real Sociedad's training complex with the Newcastle manager only finding out via the media. He frustration was evident recently as he said: 'The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad and you have to act in the right way. No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.' Liverpool's opening offer of £120million was turned down by Newcastle, who value Isak at £150m. Any move would need the Magpies to either lower their demands or force the Reds into smashing the British-record transfer for the second time in one summer. Arne Slot has already spent more than £200m with Florian Wirtz his marquee signing. Hugo Ekitike has also been signed as a No 9 but Isak is still being pursued to further compliment a frontline that includes Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo. Recent exits at Liverpool - with more potentially following - could yet fund a more for Isak and help keep Liverpool comfortably inline with the PSR regulations. Luis Diaz called time on his spell at Anfield by joining Bayern Munich with the German side paying £65.5m to land the Colombian. Darwin Nunez is expected to follow Diaz out the exit door and Al-Hilal have come forward and become the Uruguayan's likely destination. The Saudi Arabian side have expressed a willingness to pay £50m for the striker, who has fallen down the pecking order under Slot. The Liverpool manager could also see Harvey Elliott seek pastures new. The playmaker has admitted he will need to be "selfish" when it comes to his next move and his stock has risen after being named the best player at the U21 Euros this summer. A move, potentially to RB Leipzig, could bank the Reds £50m. All meaning they may pocket more than £150m from transfer exits in the space of two weeks. I'd rather sit with the fans, says Jeff Stelling amid row with Hartlepool owner
Broadcaster Jeff Stelling has vowed to join Hartlepool fans on the terraces amid an escalating row with the National League club's owner. Former Sky Sports and now TalkSPORT presenter Stelling joked on Tuesday evening that he might have to dress up as a Blues Brother to support the club after Raj Singh wrote to Pool's league rivals, urging them not to admit him to their boardrooms this season. The 70-year-old stood down as honorary president in May in protest at the owner's handling of negotiations to sell Hartlepool to a local consortium after talks had stalled, and while he believes he will not be welcome at the Prestige Group Stadium, he will continue to support his team on the road. Asked about the situation on TalkSPORT on Wednesday morning, Stelling said: 'You know what? It didn't bother me, I'm not president of the football club anymore. 'It's my football club, I'm a lifelong supporter of that football club and if it came down to the fact that I travelled and stood with the Poolies, the Hartlepool supporters, wherever they are, then that's… 'We're away to Yeovil on Saturday – I'd already bought my ticket to be with the fans, so I didn't get the issue or why Mr Singh wanted to raise it. 'But of course, then it was leaked to the media and then of course it all spiralled and spiralled out of control. The other thing that I took offence to was in the statement he says in the unlikely event that I attend games independently. 'Well, I mean, last season I went to Aldershot, Eastleigh, Solihull, Southend, Sutton, Wealdstone, Woking, Dagenham and Redbridge, Ebbsfleet, Maidenhead and a few others as well, so, it's not so unlikely that I'll attend.' ⏭ 𝑵𝑬𝑿𝑻 𝑼𝑷 Our @NL_Enterprise season kicks off at @YTFC this Saturday! #HUFC — Hartlepool United (@Official_HUFC) August 6, 2025 Hartlepool issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon insisting that the letter was written asking opposition not to seat Stelling in 'dignitary places'. A statement on the club website said: 'For absolute clarity, neither the club nor chairman have asked for other clubs in the National League to exclude or ban Mr Stelling from matches at their grounds. 'The letter that the club recently sent to National League opposition simply informed opposition that Mr Stelling no longer held a formal role and considerately asked opposition not to allocate Mr Stelling dignitary places or seating, so as to avoid any unnecessary confusion or embarrassment on match days for the benefit of all parties including Mr Stelling. 'Mr Stelling is of course able to attend away matches in any other capacity, as he stated was his intention when he resigned. At no point has the club or chairman requested or suggested that be otherwise.' In his letter – sent last month – Singh wrote: 'You may be aware from media coverage that Jeff Stelling has resigned as honorary president of Hartlepool United Football Club. 'As chairman, I would kindly and considerately ask that Mr Stelling is not provided with official HUFC dignitary spaces in your boardroom or equivalent for any Hartlepool United fixture at your home ground. 'In the unlikely event that Mr Stelling independently attends any Hartlepool United fixture at your home ground, I'd further request that you consider to seat Mr Stelling separately to any HUFC dignitaries or staff.' In response to Singh's move, the town's MP Jonathan Brash has in turn written to National League clubs urging them to treat the popular broadcaster with the 'respect and courtesy that he has most certainly earned'.
