Woman fatally ejected in Cottage Grove crash was unbelted, state patrol says
It happened just after 4:30 p.m. in Cottage Grove at Highway 61 and Kingsborough Trail, just north of the Mississippi River.
The state patrol says the victim, from Hastings, wasn't wearing a seat belt when her southbound SUV collided with a sedan at the intersection.
The crash caused the SUV to roll, ejecting the victim. The driver of the sedan, a 22-year-old Cottage Grove woman, was not hurt.
The state patrol is still investigating, and says alcohol wasn't a factor in this crash.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says as of Wednesday, there have been 177 traffic deaths in the state.

A 68-year-old man dies when part of a Family Dollar store's roof collapses in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Part of the roof and front facade of a Family Dollar store in Kansas City, Missouri, collapsed Sunday, killing a 68-year-old man and seriously injuring a 50-year-old woman, authorities said. The building's partial collapse occurred about 2:45 p.m. Sunday, the Kansas City Fire Department said. The train was headed to Ulm, a German city, when the incident occurred in Riedlingen, a town of about 11,000 people, the outlets reported. Approximately 50 people were injured, with 25 sustaining serious injuries, per the outlets, which cited a regional district fire chief. In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for German train operator Deutsche Bahn confirmed "several fatalities and many injuries." The company added that the train carriages derailed "for reasons that are still unclear." Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, the representative told PEOPLE. "We therefore ask for your understanding that we cannot comment on further details at this time," the company spokesperson added. Storms passed through the area before the accident, and investigators are now looking into whether rain could have been a factor in the derailment.
