Fiona Phillips in rare video message as she thanks fans for supporting Alzheimer's memoir
A video message from Fiona Phillips has been shared by her husband Martin Frizell this week. It comes following the release of her memoir in which she opens up about her experience of living with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Former GMTV host Fiona, 64, announced in 2023 that she had been diagnosed with dementia the previous year. The Mirror columnist has since worked on the newly-released book Remember When: My Life with Alzheimer's, with the help of Martin, 66, and journalist Alison Phillips.
Following its publication, Martin took to Instagram this afternoon to share a message from his wife, who's said to forgotten that she was writing a book by the time they reached its final chapters. He posted footage of Fiona thanking fans for their support over the memoir's release.
The video showed Fiona expressing her gratitude as she held an ice cream whilst in a park with Martin. She said in the message to fans today: "Hello! Thank you for reading my book. Really good of you. Hope you like it. Okay, bye!"
Martin, who stepped down as the editor of This Morning earlier this year, shared in the caption that they had been out for a walk. He wrote: "Out for a walk and an Almond Magnum on a hot London afternoon and some words of gratitude for all the kind folk thinking of delving into her book."
His post prompted an outpouring of supportive messages. One person wrote: "Oh it's so lovely to see your beautiful wife." Another said: "So nice to see Fiona looking so great." A third wrote: "Sending you both love, great to see you."
Someone else said in the comments section: "Thank you Martin for this clip of Fiona. So lovely to see her." Sharing their thoughts, another fan wrote: "So lovely to see Fiona out in the sunshine. Thinking of you both Martin. Big hugs."
Another person reacted to Martin's post: "Lovely little clip. Thank you for sharing." Whilst someone else commented: "Awwww.. it's lovely to see you."
A host of celebrities responded to the post too. Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid: "Loads of love to you both." This Morning's Alice Beer said: "Congratulations to you both on getting the words on the page. I think you will really help the many many others in a similar situation."
In a statement issued prior to the release of her memoir, Fiona said that she hoped to raise awareness around Alzheimer's following her diagnosis. She said: "I hope this book can show people a little about what it is like to live with Alzheimer's.
"How frightening and confusing it is. But also how much life can still bring joy and be valued. And if you or someone you love is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, I hope this book brings you some comfort. I want you to know, you are not alone."

ITV Love Island's Harrison breaks silence on future with Lauren and 'condom moment'
Harrison has opened up about his future with Lauren and whether he will rekindle things with Toni on the outside, as well as addressing the 'viral condom moment' Love Island on Friday night left hardly any dry eyes in the house, as both Lauren and Harrison left the villa. The savage twist saw Lauren dumped after new bombshell Angel chose Ty as her number one, leaving Lauren single and packing. It left Harrison torn between staying on the ITV show or following Lauren out, with emotional scenes leading to him to follow his heart and go after Lauren. He stated that he seen her as "girlfriend" material on the outside, despite a messy time in the villa. The pair have now broken their silence since the dramatic villa exits, as they revealed their intentions for life on the outside. When questioned about what lies ahead for him and Lauren on the outside, Harrison revealed: "We'll make the distance work! It will be no issue. "We left on good terms, but the two days prior to leaving, we weren't talking properly, so it would be good to have a conversation, get everything out in the open and hopefully move forward from there." He added, "I feel very strongly about the girl, I wouldn't have left if I didn't. I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be my girlfriend one day. I'm buzzing to see her and reunite! She's such a great girl." Throughout their villa stint, Lauren and Harrison stunned viewers when Harry and Helena were spotted handing a condom to Harrison during the night, as reported by the Mirror. When asked about his feelings regarding his parents potentially witnessing him "have sex" on television, the footballer responded: "I hope they didn't see! "But listen, it was a natural thing. I don't think I intended to have sex in the Villa but in there all the Islanders could tell we were so attracted to each other, naturally it was going to happen. The spark between us was crazy! I probably wasn't thinking about my parents and them watching it but it naturally happened and I don't regret it." Elsewhere, Harrison expressed his hopes to maintain a friendship with Toni outside the villa despite their rollercoaster. He noted: "I'd like to think we could be friends." "I did her wrong a few times in there so I understand if she doesn't want to reciprocate that. The conversation prior to me leaving was a big moment for me and her," he admitted. He also shared his emotional turmoil, adding: "You could tell by me getting emotional, I was upset about how I've acted and upset about Toni being upset as well. Similarly, if someone treated my sister like I'd treated Toni in there obviously I'd be mortified. I wanted to apologise to her and I think she could see I was being genuine. I'm happy with how things were left." Lauren was optimistic when quizzed on how she feels her future with Harrison will play out, stating she sees a 100% chance of a relationship blossoming. "I'd love to see where it could go," she said before his departure. She continued, expressing her desire for a reunion: "I'm hoping that he comes out so that we can be together. I see myself being with him long term as I haven't had a connection like that with someone in such a long time. I know what we had was real despite what everyone else thinks. He has done wrong and made stupid mistakes, but he knows that and believes it was the wrong thing to do." The couple currently appears to be smitten, yet Harrison admits there's one aspect he'd reconsider – his choice of confidant for advice. During his time in the villa, we witnessed his camaraderie with Harry and Dejon, but in hindsight, he laments seeking counsel from Harry. Reflecting on his decisions, Harrison remarked, "I went to Harry a few times asking for advice. On reflection, he was probably the worst person to go to for advice! He does have a serious side but if I was ever to get into the situation again, I probably wouldn't go to him again, his advice was horrendous!" He added reflecting, "The trio was something special, the banter was flying, we were so close in there. I'm sad to leave them."

Nicola Peltz's 'distance and strain' triggers Brooklyn Beckham amid ongoing feud
Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham have been spotted looking 'distant' as they spent time onboard her father's yacht in France, according to a body language expert. The ongoing rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his family seems to be taking its toll. It comes as Nicola Peltz Beckham's recent appearance suggests the strain is becoming more evident according to a body language expert. Photos captured during a break on her father's yacht in St Tropez in France hint at 'distance' despite the couple's attempt to present a united front amid their hectic lives. Body language expert Judi James has observed signs of stress in Nicola, 30. The expert explained she finds this difficult to conceal, despite the couple's efforts to display solidarity. Speaking to the Mirror, Judi shared her insights: "With her distant, expressionless eye gaze and her hand either clutching Brooklyn's arm or encased in his hand, Nicola is looking like the tragic heroine here, perhaps wanting to suggest some vulnerability and strain behind her normally cool and confident exterior." Judi further commented: "This is a look that might make most caring husbands wary and trigger their protective side, which is what appears to have happened with Brooklyn here. While his wife walks along in her dramatic black fur tippet and with her hand placed on her bag to provide an emphatic and perhaps symbolic display of her wedding rings, Brooklyn looks more relaxed and dominant." She continued: "Clutching her hand in his with his, with the back of his hand showing fully and the wrist bent in a protective clasp. His mood looks confident and even rather upbeat here as though he enjoys being the strong guy in the relationship. His chest is splayed, his arms are held out and there's a smile brewing on his face." Speculations surrounding a rift within the Beckhams has continued to intensify recently, with Brooklyn and his younger siblings, Cruz and Romeo, reportedly unfollowing one another on social media. Initial reports suggested Brooklyn was the instigator, but it later emerged that he was 'blindsided' by claims that Romeo and Cruz had 'blocked' him, an act dubbed as the "Gen Z version of World War Three". Weeks prior to this, eyebrows were raised when Brooklyn was noticeably absent from both of his parents birthday bashes and did not acknowledge them. He also seemed to overlook his dad's much-anticipated knighthood, choosing instead to celebrate his father-in-law in a post. Brooklyn tied the knot with Nicola back in 2022. However, rumours about friction between Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz started to surface even then. This followed reports that Victoria felt slighted after Nicola chose a Valentino dress over one designed by her for the wedding. In a candid chat with Grazia US, she disclosed: "We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn't hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn't make it." Addressing rumours that she deliberately avoided wearing a design by her mother-in-law, she expressed feeling "hurt" to the publication. Nicola said: "It does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it's just not the truth. It's just a bit of a bummer when you're like: 'Oh, people think that,' but it's just not true." The tension between Brooklyn and his family has reportedly escalated since, with recent social media activity from the Beckhams suggesting that the rift is far from healing.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Megxit conversation 'years before' family told
A private conversation between the Sussexes has been decoded by lip readers who claim it gives a bombshell insight on their plot to quit the Royal Family A private chat between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been interpreted by lip readers. It supposedly reveals a telling exchange that has led to speculation they were considering their departure from the Royal Family long before their US move. The discreet conversation took place at a service of remembrance at Westminster Abbey in 2018, six months following their lavish wedding at Windsor Castle. The Sussexes were in attendance alongside the full royal clan, including the late Queen Elizabeth II. New Channel 5 documentary, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, delves into this moment as Harry and Meghan sat awaiting the start of the ceremony, engaging in what appeared to be a significant conversation. Lip reading specialist Nicola Hickling analysed the exchange for the show, suggesting Meghan prompted Harry to "take advantage of the situation", her gaze then sweeping over the gathering of royals as reported by the Mirror. She says Harry responded to her comment by asking: "Today?", as Meghan added: "Do it tonight." Then, Harry poses a question to Meghan, asking: "You do realise that this is the end?" as Meghan responds: "Yeah, I do know". Royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop has suggested that these seemingly private remarks between the Sussexes could indicate that the pair had been orchestrating their departure from the firm years before they ultimately chose to step down. Despite having the exchange towards the end of 2018, they welcomed first child Prince Archie six months after. They continued working their senior royal duties for another eight months following his birth. Harry and Meghan confirmed their departure from the Royal Family in January 2020, releasing a joint statement on Instagram announcing they would be "taking a step back" as senior working royals, whilst noting they would "plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America". Their announcement also stated that departing the Royal family and moving to California would provide them with the chance to bring up their son Archie "with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter." Previously in the couple's Netflix series, Harry confessed they had been preparing the bombshell relocation from the UK for "a minimum of two years". In 2018, Harry revealed that they had considered relocating to New Zealand or South Africa and were close to moving to South Africa before the press heard rumours of it. However, Harry stated that they had to abandon the plan as it turned into a "public debate", leading them to urgently seek a new residence while staying in Canada in January 2020. Now five years on after their split from the Royal Family, there's speculation about potential reconciliation talks between Prince Harry and his father King Charles. Top aides for both royals were seen engaging in discussions at a private club in London. This encounter has sparked curiosity over whether the aides were arranging a meeting between the King and Harry for his anticipated visit to the UK in September. Notably absent from the discussions were any representatives for Prince William, who is known to have a strained relationship with his brother. Harry has recently expressed a wish to mend fences with his family, stating in a candid BBC interview in May that he "would love a reconciliation" with the King and William. He confessed to being weary of conflict and voiced concerns about Charles' wellbeing, saying he "did not know how much longer [his] father has." In the same interview, the Duke also mentioned: "I would like to get my father and brother back."
