KL Rahul has gone past Virat Kohli with 26 catches in England.
Star India batter KL Rahul on Sunday went past ace batter Virat Kohli in the list of Indians with the most catches in England. The former has been a special cricketer with the bat for the Indian team on the tour. Rahul has also been a reliable asset in the slips.
Rahul has looked like the most sound cricketer and has played a big role in giving the Indian team solid starts in most innings. England have been tasked with chasing down 374 runs in the fourth innings of the game.
Much to the delight of captain Shubman Gill, the fans and the Indian team management, Prasidh Krishna produced the ball that resulted in the wicket of Ben Duckett.
Rahul now has 26 catches in England, one more than Kohli. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid has 30, while Sunil Gavaskar leads the list with 35.
It was a full ball outside the off stump, at which Duckett threw his bat in an attempt to drive away from the body. All he got was an outside edge that Rahul took in second slip.
Meanwhile, star India pacer Mohammed Siraj bowled another lion-hearted eight-over spell as India took two wickets to leave England on 164/3 at lunch on the fourth day of the final Test in London on Sunday, August 3.
Chasing a record 374, England still need 210 runs for the series-sealing victory over India, while the visitors would back themselves to bowl the hosts on a challenging track and level the series.
Having dismissed Zak Crawley on the last delivery of the third day, Siraj began the proceedings alongside Akash Deep.
Like the first innings, Siraj put his hand up and produced a fiery spell where he troubled Duckett and Ollie Pope.
However, it was Krishna who provided the opening breakthrough of the day when he drew Duckett into the drive and had him caught at second slip on what was his fourth delivery of the morning.

Gkp man cycles to Annapurna Base Camp, hoists Tricolour at 13,550ft

1 2 Gorakhpur : In a remarkable display of endurance and determination, 29-year-old adventure cyclist Uma Singh from Gorakhpur scripted history by cycling to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Nepal, situated at an altitude of 13,550feet, where he hoisted the tricolour on Aug 1. With this feat, Uma becomes the second Indian and the fourth cyclist in the world to conquer the treacherous off-road trail to ABC on a bicycle. The journey began on July 26 from the Vikas Bhawan campus in Gorakhpur as part of a Tiranga Yatra, following which Uma commenced his cycling expedition from Pokhara on July 27. Over the next six days, he braved steep ascents, relentless rains, dense forests, rocky terrain and slippery trails to reach the summit. He completed the descent and returned safely to Pokhara by Aug 3 evening. Uma described the journey as one of the most grueling experiences of his life. He said: "The unpredictable weather, rocky climbs, leeches, insects and the constant fear of getting lost in the forest — every moment tested my limits. Sometimes the trail would disappear under heavy rain. But I kept telling myself, 'Just a little more, the summit is near.'" Reflecting on the moment he unfurled the triolour at the base camp, Uma called it "divine, surreal and blessed by the grace of Maa Annapurna. " TNN
