Barricaded person in Southwold Township charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking

A person barricaded at a Bush Line address has been charged after they were taken into custody on Wednesday.
Officers, including members of the Tactical Response Unit, surrounded a house in Southwold Township just before 6:30 a.m.
After the standoff, the 38-year-old man of Elgin County was taken into custody.
The man was charged with:
Robbery with Theft
Uttering threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Hydromorphone
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Nabilone
Possession of Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
The accused will appear in court in St. Thomas on July 17.

Windsor Police have charged two men in connection with an alleged road rage incident earlier this month. Two suspects have been arrested following a home invasion and armed robbery earlier this month on July 5. Officers received a report just before 2 a.m. of a home invasion in the 1700 block of Northway Avenue. The home occupants were asleep when they were confronted by two suspects who unlawfully entered the residence. One suspect held a knife and demanded cellphones and electronics from the victims. No physical injuries were reported, but six cellphones were stolen. The first suspect was arrested on July 15, after he was found in the 900 block of Wyandotte Street East around 2:30 a.m. The second suspect was arrested around 3 p.m. the next day in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue. One suspect, a 46 year old, has been charged with break-and-enter and commit into dwelling house and robbery with an offensive weapon. The other, a 45 year old, has been charged with break-and-enter and commit into dwelling house, robbery with an offensive weapon and failure to comply with probation order.

Police seek to identify ‘suspicious' driver

A Mercedes seen on July 17, 2025 in the area of Monarch Woods Drive and Mossgrove Drive in Kitchener. (Source: WRPS) Waterloo Regional Police are trying to identify the driver of a vehicle who approached a young girl in Kitchener. On Thursday, around 1 p.m., a man driving a black Mercedes CLS400 pulled up beside the girl in the area of Monarch Woods Drive and Mossgrove Drive. Police said there was a 'brief interaction' between the two but did not specify what happened. They are now seeking to identify the driver. Police said the Mercedes had tints on the front and rear windows and another male may have been sitting in the passenger seat. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-570-9777.
