I can basically hear your "squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" through the screen.
1. An OMG-worthy pet bed you'll envy your fur baby for if the idea of curling up inside your favorite fruit has ever sounded a- peel -ing to you. Not to mention, none of your selfies have ever gotten as many likes as a pic of Fluffy in this thing will.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"If you want to laugh for hours on end, purchase this banana bed and watch your kitties sleep in it, play with it, and attack each other to gain entry! The best moment so far was when one cat was in the bed with the banana 'peel' down, and the other cat wanted to get in so he proceeded to fish for the other kitty in the banana bed and dislodge him. Very cute cat bed and toy." — Pamela J. Anderson
Get it from Amazon for $17.49+ (available in three sizes).
2. A mini inflatable tube guy to make a day at your WFH desk less of a snooze. It's hard to be stressed about that spreadsheet when he's over here waving his hands in the air like he just doesn't care!
It even comes with a mini booklet of facts about this wavy creatures that are always at car dealerships, for some reason.
Promising review:"OMG! I love this guy! These things large and small will ALWAYS make me laugh. My husband bought the desk version for me, and I can always count on it to make me laugh. My coworkers love it too. People just stop by to turn him on for a quick pick-me-up. I would recommend getting the AC plug since batteries can run down fast. I think we should create a community of fellow air-dancer-havers and post clips of our little guys dancing to our favorite songs. Anyone in?" — Mark
Get it from Amazon for $11.66 (also available in a purple, pearl-wearing version here!).
3. A precious pink pig crochet kit even 100% beginners will be able to make — and that's not hogwash! The kit includes everything you need to get started, and when you're done, you'll have the cutest piggy pal to show off on your shelf!
The Woobles
This Asian-owned small business specializes in squee-worthy amigurumi (the Japanese art of making small stuffed animals from yarn) kits and provides instructions for every step of the process on their site, so even total novices won't feel lost. The kit comes with yarn, stuffing, plastic eyes, an already-started piece of crochet material, a stitch marker, a needle, access to video tutorials, a carrying bag, and a crochet hook. You can even access extra support over email any time!
After writing about this awesome biz many times, I was finally influenced to try them for myself — which is a huge vote of confidence for anyone who knows me, considering I am very lazy, not particularly artistically inclined, and my "hobbies" primarily rhyme with Schmetflix. However, I have now made four Woobles and purchased several more! The videos are suuuuper detailed so like they promise, anyone can learn to crochet with them. Once you get the hang of it, it's so soothing and hard to stop, and it becomes — get this — a great thing to do with your hands while watching said Schmetflix! And, of course, the finished products are so, so cute and great to keep for yourself or give as gifts. I haven't tried this particular kit yet but am def tempted by that ridiculously cute face!
Promising review: "This is my second time getting Woobles. I started with Pierre the penguin and immediately bought a pack of four once I was done. The videos are so helpful, the yarn and materials are great quality, and they turn out so cute!! I love them. 100% recommend to anybody trying to start crocheting or people who have before!" — A.L.
Get it from The Woobles for $30 and shop all kits here.
4. A downright silly Golden Girls planter that comes ready to display with a faux succulent. Pick your fave character or get the whole set and share with your pals to ~thank them for being a friend~.
Amazon
Promising review: "I got this for my dad for Christmas so he'd have something to make him smile at work (we love The Golden Girls). He loved it! It's perfect for anyone who likes the aesthetic of plants without the hassle of the upkeep so it's great for those of us without a green thumb. Size is also good because it isn't too big for a desk." — kp_artsy96
Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in Sophia, Blanche, and Dorothy, and you can get Rose here). Get a deal on the whole set for $69.99.
5. A pizza puzzle for your pupper-oni to turn treat time into mental enrichment time! Hide their fave kibble or treats under each of the toppings to give 'em a challenge and bust their boredom while you power through your to-do list (that is, if you can draw your eyes away from the cuteness, which is unlikely).
www.amazon.com, Amazon
Promising review: "My dog is already a puzzle pro, but I thought this was cute and would be fun for lower-key puzzle days. She likes this, and though the parts don't come off, they're easy to rinse! I'll be using this as a puzzle intro for any foster dogs and my future dogs/puppies <3 I think it's a good size and durability — not a chew toy so if you let your dog chew on it..." — Felix
Get it from Amazon for $15.99.
6. The cutest cherry toilet brush because it turns out toilet brushes don't have to be just an unsightly necessity. ~Pit~ure this: a bathroom with all the essentials, but that actually feels whimsical — that's about to be your reality.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review: " This toilet brush makes me want to clean my toilet. It is so cute, exactly what I wanted, and works perfectly!! Fits nicely into my bathroom decor. It was delivered in perfect condition, and I've used it three times now. If you're thinking about buying this...do it!" — Michelle Maroon
Get it from Amazon for $18.99 (also available in an orange version).

ModCloth
Get it from ModCloth for $69 (available in women's sizes XS–4X).
8. A flexible flower vase pal you can pose in all kinds of goofy ways, from having him wave to visitors, do the splits, or raise the roof because he's so revved up to be a reservoir for your roses.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review: "An affable, squishy, bendy, happy little vase! The consensus on my social media page is that everyone should have one of these. I finally got a chance to try it out with some daffodils, and really, it's hard not to smile when you see them." — Susy Lundy
Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in three colors).
9. A LOL-worthy fruit-shaped cat cap to turn your kitty into the cutest fruit of the harvest (much to their chagrin).
Promising review:"I would give these 10 stars if I could, but I'm sure Freya would give it a -3. I think she looks like an angelic banana, but she is not amused. I don't believe this causes her physical discomfort, but her self-esteem has plummeted. Long story short, makes your cat look stupid, as planned. LOL." — Amazon Customer
Get one in a random fruit from Amazon for $7.99 (available in six styles).
10. An unbelievably sweet and clever huggie hoop-and-stud earring set so you can host an ear party to show off your favorite things, from food to hobbies. There are soooo many options, you may end up filling your cart to the brim — no judgment here.
BaubleBar
Get two pairs — like the mixer and cupcake, coffee and bagel, or alien and UFO combos — from BaubleBar for $44 (available in 25 styles).

13. A ridiculously squishy mermaid potato plush that truly needs to be ~part of your world~. Sing it with me, 🎶 how many plushies can one bedroom hold???🎶
Get it from Smoko for $28.
14. Fun lightsaber chopsticks to ensure no lunch will ever be a sad desk lunch ever again. You're an adult, so you actually are allowed to play with your food. And with these babies, no one would have the heart to ~force~ you to stop, anyway.
BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord loves these. She writes: "As you can see from the above GIF, I bought these for myself, and I love them to pieces. TBH, I use them as decor every bit as much as I use them to eat. Sometimes I just keep them in my work area to light them up during the day to feel fancy. They toggle back and forth between a bunch of different colors, like red, blue, yellow, purple, and multicolor, so you can either make them match *or* have a red and blue one together and bring ~balance~ to the Force."
Promising review:"The chopsticks are very durable, and the glow is bright. They're a bit bigger than I expected — but very pleased nonetheless with the product because it serves the purpose and is entertaining for kids, right up to adult Star Wars nerds. It also made the perfect gift for my fellow Star Wars nerds. I've been too busy playing with them rather than using them to eat food — but hopefully, that will eventually happen before the batteries need changing." — Anthony
Get two pairs from Amazon for $16.97.
15. A moo -jestic highland cow table lamp that may not be fabulously fuzzy like the real thing, but will ~light up your life~ just the same.
Get it from Urban Outfitters for $79.
16. Whimsical bird-shaped glasses, which truly put the "tail" in "cocktail" and can't be ~beak~ for your next happy hour — they'll put all your plain glasses to shame.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising review: "Quirky and fun. How can you NOT like drinking from a bird butt?! OK, they're silly, and I found them at a restaurant in Cancun and then ordered on Amazon. But they're adorable. They don't hold a lot — think martini or shot. Mine came with cleaning brushes, which was a nice touch. They're kinda impossible to clean otherwise. Glass quality is good. No scratches. Well packed too." — Tim O.
Get them from Amazon: two for $22.95 or four for $36.93.
17. A 1,000-piece pooping-dogs puzzle featuring all kinds of different breeds (and even a fox) doing their business that's sure to be a hit with your whole household. Shoutout to my grandpa, who once famously slammed on the brakes of his car and yelled to my aunt and uncle, "Look, kids! That dog's taking a crap!"
www.amazon.com
My mom just bought this for my aunt for that very reason. 😂
Promising review: "Really good quality and soooo funny. This puzzle is great! Honestly because it's sort of a funny prank gift, I thought it wasn't going to be good quality. But it's actually REALLY nice! The pieces are thick and good quality and a huge variety of shapes that fit together really well. We are big puzzle fans and this one turned out to be one of our favorites — it's funny, fun to do, and a really nice, solid puzzle! I will totally buy this again for a gift!" — A. Kay
Get it from Amazon for $19.95 (available in seven styles, including a 100-piece version, and in matching coasters).
18. The CUTEST (and softest) Jellycat plush purse that'll hold the essentials and be the perfect finishing touch to your little one's (or tbh, your) adorable 'fit.
www.amazon.com, Amazon
Promising reviews: "Stupid cute. My toddler loved this adorable sun purse. Gave it to her before a trip so she could carry a few of her own quick-access carry-on toys on the plane. She loved it and got sooo many compliments from other travelers. I would not leave a little kid with it unattended as it could be a choking hazard. I tied the purse strap shorter to make it fit. I think we will get years and years of use out of it." — Britney
"I recently bought a Jellycat plush crossbody bag, and I'm completely in love with it! It's not only adorable and distinctive, but it also brings a playful, whimsical vibe to any outfit. Plus, it's spacious enough to hold my phone and a few makeup essentials. The adjustable strap makes it versatile, so I can wear it as either a crossbody or a shoulder bag, which is super convenient when I'm out shopping or playing with my friends." — Xiangyu Mao
Get it from Amazon for $36+ (available in 14 styles).

Promising review: "What a creative and awesome looking Funko Pop. Looks exactly like DoodleBob in the show. Would recommended to anyone who collects SpongeBob things or anyone who loves the show in general. Great purchase! Arrived in great condition and safely." — Collin
Get it from Amazon for $20.95.
21. Squee-worthy Tonymoly x Squishmallows pimple patches so your breakout can turn into a brea- cowt (sorry). These cuties are infused with anti-inflammatory niacinamide that can help tame oil, redness, and discoloration.
Amazon
I have one of these on my chin as I type this! While these don't have the same goo-sucking magic as some more traditional patches (I like these), they're more fun to wear and still help prevent picking and seem to help reduce the swelling and size of zits. They were a hit when I shared a selfie on Instagram, too!
Get three packs of 24 from Amazon for $23.99.
22. Cutie patootie wooden bunny toast tongs ~ear~ to ensure your fingertips stay safe while impatiently reaching for your freshly-toasted everything bagel, and a smile stays on your face during even the most mundane kitchen tasks.
www.amazon.com
Promising review: "I figured it was more of a novelty than anything and doubted that I would use it much, but decided to try it out anyway. Turns out that I actually use it quite often! It allows me to grab my bread/bagel/muffin from the toaster without either burning my fingers or having to wait until it's cooled (and therefore, less likely to melt the butter or cream cheese I attempt to spread onto it). Also, since the bunny is quite adorable and stands upright, I can set it on my counter beside my toaster, so it doesn't take up more space in my (very full) utensil drawer." — Sarah D. C. F.
Get them from Amazon for $13.95.
23. A scrumptious Ratatouille crossbody bag that's the Disney adult take on the embroidered canvas tote trend — and I am so here for it. It's the perfect size to hold all the essentials (and possibly a rodent companion who helps you succeed at work...your secret's safe with me 😉🐀🧑‍🍳).
BoxLunch
24. A Shrek tacular toothpaste crap...er, I mean a cap to give you an ~all-star~ brushing experience. Better out than in, I always say!
CasualChicken / Etsy
It's from an Irvine, California-based small business that makes wonderfully weird and pop-culture-inspired 3D-printed goodies like this.
Promising review:"My order came well-packaged and on time. Gifted it to my friend and she thinks it is hilarious." — Grace
Get it from CasualChicken on Etsy for $9.99.
25. A fun cat tree available in tons of sizes to fit your home and kitty's needs, and that will make your fur baby feel like they rule the Mushroom Kingdom. It's a meow, Mario.
www.amazon.com, www.amazon.com
Promising reviews: "It's huge. I love it. I saw the dimensions but I still was not expecting my full-grown cat to look kitten-sized in it! Super easy to put together. The shape is a *little* awkward, so you'll need quite a bit of space for it than you would think, BUT it is still a good tree. And cute!" — Pixel and Friends (Kait)
"I am not the biggest fan of how cat trees look and my home decor is 'interesting' so say the least. This fits in perfectly. I get compliments all the time. Well put together, easily maintained, and my two cats love it." — Jamie G.
Get it from Amazon for $36.29+ (available in five sizes).
26. A smile-inducing brass animal pal designed to hang out on your houseplant and give your foliage friends new life. There are so many cool animals available, there's no way you'll be able to pick just one!
AnotherStudio / Etsy
These cuties are from a London-based small business with all kinds of cool plant and home goodies!
Promising review: "I bought the squirrel, the tree frog, and the bush baby, and they are so adorable! They are great quality and yet light enough to not weigh down the plant. I appreciate the biodegradable packaging as well. I highly recommend these. They're just so much fun!!" — Sarah
Get it from AnotherStudio on Etsy for $10.24 (available in 37 animals).
27. A dimmable duck light who is quite simply a very big mood. He is made of squishy silicone, seems 100% DONE with doing anything (same), has a 30-minute auto-shutoff timer feature and three brightness settings, and, yes, also features a drawn-on butthole. It's the little things.
Amazon
Promising review: "So cute and fun yet functional. I got this because it was on a deal, and I loved the duck, but I knew I would have a place for it. As a joke, I stuck it next to my husband's side of the bed, and he absolutely loves it. Our room is dark at night. He'll reach over when he's getting up in the morning, tap it, and we instantly have a very light glow in the room. You can have it set to stay on or turn off after 30 minutes, which is great so that it doesn't wear out. Also comes with a charger, a key feature so you're not constantly having to change batteries, which is always nice. Definitely a nice addition to use in an area that's dark and could use a little light." — L. Marshall

The Best Last-Minute Father's Day Gifts

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 15, which means that this is the week to either put the finishing touches on your 30th 'coupon book for free hugs,' or make this the year that you actually order a smokeless fire pit on time to help his s'mores fantasies come to life. Dads are surprising creatures. I can comfortably call my own a man of habit, which certainly works in my favor when I'm trying to buy him a present; he likes listening to the blues, chopping firewood, and hammering out chicken schnitzel, in that order. Every once in a while, however, he will put down the meat tenderizer and say something like, 'I sure would love to order bees for the yard' that reminds me that people can always surprise us (and those people can take Cornell's virtual beekeeping classes). If your food-loving dad or dad-like figure is anything like mine, he probably loves kits, gadgets, accessories, and tools that improve accuracy, comfort, and general flair. In layman's terms: Send him a pastrami sandwich kit from Langer's Deli, and a UV50+-proof hat to rock while barbecuing this summer. Every dad is different, but it feels fair to say that so many could benefit from a thick kneeling pad for tending to their garden, or owning a kaleidoscopic margarita machine — by none other than Jimmy Buffet's (pour one out) Margaritaville brand — to show off with their buds. Don't freak out if you have procrastinated on your Father's Day shopping until now (you probably learned procrastination from him, anyway). Instead, sip some Sleepytime Tea and check out this curation of dad-worthy, food-obsessed gifts that ship in time for the big day, or require zero shipping at all — these will get to Pops in time, if you move fast. If you hit the holy procrastinator-shopping trifecta of Amazon, Wayfair, or Goldbelly, there's still time to ship a Stanley flask, smokeless fire pit, or a flight of doughnuts that spells 'Best Dad Ever' to your pops. Amazon is hiding some surprisingly chic gifts from the likes of Field Company (think, lightweight cast-iron skillet sets); Wayfair offers 2-day shipping and is also having an outdoor sale with savings of up to 50 percent off; and Goldbelly has an entire Father's Day collection with chicken and waffles, Philly cheesesteaks, and desserts that can ship overnight. What's that? It's the eve of Papa's Day, and you haven't had time to whittle him that soup spoon? Luckily for all of us, there are so many cool digital gifts for food-loving dads that require little to no shipping whatsoever; MasterClass is offering 50 percent off memberships for Father's Day, and is brimming with all kinds of food- and drink-centric classes from Thomas Keller, Alice Waters, and so many other James Beard-nominated chefs; Uncommon Goods, aka the slingers of cast-iron garlic roasters and hot sauce tossed peanuts also offers video-based, interactive live classes or 'experiences,' all of which ship supplemental goodies, such as spices, to the recipient. Finally, when in doubt, there's beauty in getting your dad to God's country (Williams Sonoma and/or REI) with a digital gift card. All classes billed annually. All classes billed annually.

"Piracy Is Piracy": Disney Sues Midjourney for Massive Copyright Violation

Disney and NBCUniversal — a pair of media behemoths behind franchises ranging from "Star Wars" and "Toy Story" to "Minions" and "Shrek" — are suing AI company Midjourney, accusing it of enabling copyright infringement on a massive scale through its AI image generator tech. In the lawsuit, which was filed in a California district court today, the two Hollywood juggernauts accused the firm of ignoring its previous requests to stop violating their intellectual property rights. "Midjourney is the quintessential copyright free-rider and a bottomless pit of plagiarism," the scathing complaint reads, as quoted by the Wall Street Journal. It's a major escalation in the fight between copyright holders and AI firms, a battle that has been brewing for years. Per Axios, it's the "first legal action that major Hollywood studios have taken against a generative AI company." And it's not just the use of image generators; generative AI writ large has triggered a barrage of lawsuits, with media companies accusing the likes of OpenAI and Google of training their large language models on their materials without fair compensation. Those disputes have turned into a major pain point for the AI industry, despite surging enthusiasm for the tech. Considering the sheer size of both Disney and Universal — Disney is the third largest media company by market cap in the world — Midjourney could soon be in a world of hurt. Disney, in particular, has a long track record of closely guarding its enormous cache of intellectual property. "Our world-class IP is built on decades of financial investment, creativity and innovation—investments only made possible by the incentives embodied in copyright law that give creators the exclusive right to profit from their works," said Disney's chief legal compliance officer, Horacio Gutierrez, in a statement. "We are bullish on the promise of AI technology and optimistic about how it can be used responsibly as a tool to further human creativity," he added. "But piracy is piracy, and the fact that it's done by an AI company does not make it any less infringing." The lawsuit explained in an example how Midjourney users could easily request a picture of the Disney-owned "Star Wars" character Darth Vader in a "particular setting or doing a particular action," and the AI "obliges by generating and displaying a high-quality, downloadable image." That kind of loose approach to copyright has been an open secret for quite some time. In January 2024, noted AI critic Gary Marcus and film industry concept artist Reid Southen warned in a piece for IEEE Spectrum that tools like Midjourney and OpenAI's DALL-E3 could land them in a "copyright minefield." The pair found that it was "easy to generate many plagiaristic outputs, with brief prompts related to commercial films," including well-known Marvel superheroes, Nintendo's Super Mario, and Disney's Darth Vader. Disney and Universal are framing their legal action as a way to "protect the hard work of all the artists whose work entertains and inspires us," said NBCU executive VP and general of counsel Kim Harris in the statement. Given the lack of a clear legal precedent, it'll be fascinating to watch the lawsuit unfold over what's likely to turn into a years-long courtroom battle. A splurge-worthy iridescent cake stand from Estelle's Colored Glass you'll want to leave out on display at all times. It's not our fault if you *also* decide you need to whip up a delicious cake or muffins to plop on top of it weekly. A brass and crystal air plant mobile that'll turn your greenery into actual art. With eight shimmering prisms and space for four air plants, it's elegant, simple, and quietly show-offy in the best possible way. Hang it in a sunny window and let it do its thing.
