At least three killed after gunman opens fire in Austin Target parking lot
At least three people have died after a gunman opened fire at a Target parking lot in Austin on Monday afternoon. The unnamed attacker, who was described as white and wearing a Hawaiian shirt, fired at shoppers outside the store on Research Boulevard in the northern part of the Texas city just before 3pm ET. Austin Police Department said the gunman was detained sometime before 3.15pm, and that up to five people were shot in total, including one child. The suspect has not been named and no motive for the shooting has been given. It is unclear if he knew any of his victims. Afterwards, the suspect carjacked a Volkswagen car to use as his getaway vehicle. He was quickly tracked down and taken into custody.
