Kylie Kelce lists the kids shows she loves — and the ones she ‘aggressively' banned

Miami Herald25-07-2025
Kylie Kelce says she has 'no other way to function' than to be honest.
The 33-year-old wife of former NFL player Jason Kelce lived up to that quality during the July 24 episode of her 'Not Gonna Lie' podcast when she presented her 'No Lie Parent's Guide to Kids TV.'
And it included a list of kids shows she absolutely loves — and some she 'aggressively' avoids.
For example, Kelce revealed that 'Cocomelon' has been banned in her household.
'No, aggressively no,' she said of the show. 'So no that if Cocomelon comes up on any of their screens, my daughters say, 'Oh, we're not allowed to watch that.''
Kelce goes on to describe 'Cocomelon' as a show 'that locks kids in' and added that she questions any other shows that fall into that category.
'I have doubled, tripled, quadrupled down. We are not watching Cocomelon,' she added.
She also described 'Blippy' as weird and says she banned 'Teletubbies' because her daughter found it 'creepy.'
'These shows are banned for a multitude of reasons,' she said on her podcast. 'Some of them, I'm pretty sure there are studies that have shown that these shows are not correct.'
As for the rest of her list, Kelce broke it down into five other categories: educational shows, those that are re-watchable, shows from her childhood, shows to keep the kids busy and shows that are confusing.
Here's a look at her No Lie Parent's Guide to Kids TV:
Educational shows with good music: 'Ms. Rachel' and 'Sesame Street'Shows you can watch 100+ times: 'Bluey,' 'Peppa Pig' and 'Zoboomafoo'Shows from her childhood: 'The Big Comfy Couch,' 'Spongebob Squarepants,' 'PB&J Otter' and 'Bear in the Big Blue House' Shows to keep the kids busy: 'T.O.T.S.' and 'Puppy Pals'Shows that have Kelce saying WTF: 'Yo Gabba Gabba!' and 'The Chicken Squad'
Kelce says she's especially fond of Ms. Rachel's 'Hop Little Bunnies' song and described 'Sesame Street' as a 'throwback.'
'Big Bird is aging like fine wine,' she said of the classic show. 'Really, I want to know his skin care routine because he doesn't look a day older than when I used to watch him when I was little. It's crazy.'
She also likes how short 'Bluey' episodes are and how 'lovely' Peppa Pig is — especially Daddy Pig.
As for 'Zoboomafoo,' Kelce says she added it to the list for herself.
'I put it on selfishly. I love that lemur,' she says of Jovian from the 1991-2001 show. 'I love that he looks a little unhinged.'
Kelce's comments come less than two weeks after Nielsen announced that 'Bluey' topped its streaming rankings for the first half of 2025 with 25.06 billion minutes of viewing.
'Grey's Anatomy' (22.55 billion), 'NCIS' (19.12 billion), 'Family Guy' (19.07 billion) and 'Bob's Burgers' (17.1 billion) rounded out the top five, according to Nielsen's ratings.
Her comments also come one week after TheWrap reported that 'Ms. Rachel' was the seventh-most watched show on Netflix in the first half of 2025 with 53.4 million views.
On her podcast, Kelce took an extra moment to praise 'Ms. Rachel' as one of the greats.
'I have said multiple times that we love Ms. Rachel. And Ms. Rachel is great because she sings the songs that you would love,' Kelce said of the show.
'She does legitimate speech pathology tactics and practices within the show. And also my kids love her,' she added.
Kelce shares four daughters — Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, born in March — with her husband, whom she has been married to since 2018, according to People.

NFL reporter shares strong reaction to Tom Brady's judgment on Scottie Scheffler after final years with Bucs

Tom Brady couldn't find a work-life balance during his final few NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, famously getting divorced from Gisele Bündchen in 2022 after she complained he wasn't around his family enough. That's what makes Brady's comments on pro golfer Scottie Scheffler's work-life balance hypocritical, says Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. Florio believes Brady prioritized his career over anything else, obsessing over expanding his legacy over being there for his wife and kids. 'Brady's work-life balance consisted of throwing out the scale and maniacally pursuing what was always his favorite Super Bowl ring: The next one,' Florio wrote. 'And that's fine. That's the choice he made. But he shouldn't pretend two seasons after calling it quits that he was trying to find a sweet spot between work and family. It was work and more work. And more work. 'And more work. Whatever the consequences may be.' Brady had commented on Scheffler's desire to be a more successful husband and father than golfer. 'Scottie said he'd rather be a better father and husband than a good golfer. And my question is: why are those mutually exclusive? Sure, they're different blocks on the pyramid, but they're part of the same pyramid,' Brady said via his website's newsletter. 'They're connected!' After winning Super Bowl LV in 2021, Brady could've ended his career on the ultimate high note. Following an ugly split with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, Brady went to Tampa during the COVID-19 pandemic and turned a franchise that went 12 seasons without a postseason appearance into the champs. To boot, he even beat Patrick Mahomes, a quarterback many pegged to replace Brady as the NFL's QB1, despite being 18 years his elder. Instead, he stayed too long, eventually having his first losing season in 2022. There are almost no fewer qualified to make such a statement to Scheffler. Whoever put him up to this knows how to market. Then again, if this was Brady's doing and it wasn't rage-bait, the 48-year-old may just be getting his guilty thoughts off his chest.

‘Love Island USA' Becomes Peacock's First No. 1 Overall Title On Nielsen Streaming List During Season 7 Finale Week; ‘Sullivan's Crossing' Finds A Groove On Netflix

The first full week of July was a big one for streaming with seven titles surpassing 1B minutes watched in the U.S., per Nielsen's latest report. For the first time ever, Love Island USA led the pack from July 7 to 13 with 1.9B minutes watched. Not only is that the highest weekly total ever for the series, it's also the first time that a Peacock series has ever reached the No. 1 overall spot. That all changed with last summer's Season 6, catapulting the series into the cultural zeitgeist the way that its UK predecessor had already been able to do. Since Nielsen doesn't report viewing per season, this includes any and all viewing of previous seasons during this week as well, so it's hard to say exactly how the audiences stack up season-over-season. Both Nielsen and NBCUniversal have already acknowledged that Season 7 saw unprecedented viewership for the USA iteration, so while we may not know exactly how much of this week's viewership went to the most recent season, it's safe to say it was likely the majority. Per Nielsen, Love Island USA generated an impressive 8.8B minutes of viewing over the course of its six-week run, 54% of which came from adults 18-34 — making it the No. 1 streaming title among adults under 35 by a significant margin. One more note: the Season 7 finale aired on July 13, meaning it's likely the series will stick around the Nielsen charts for at least another week as longtail viewing for the finale comes in. Second place during this interval went to the Canadian series Sullivan's Crossing, which landed on Netflix on July 8. The streamer's own data has already illustrated this CW title's huge popularity, but Nielsen says it generated 1.35B minutes viewed in the first week. In third place was Squid Game with 1.25B minutes viewed, down from No. 1 overall, where it stood for the previous two weeks. Prime Video is also seeing success with Bosch spinoff Ballard, which put up a strong 1.03B minutes viewed in its first week on the service. That's for all 10 episodes, landing the series at No. 7 on the overall list. Per Nielsen, adults over 50 accounted for 82% of its total viewing. This marked a very strong week for streaming originals, meaning that there are some other high performers that didn't really get a shot at making the overall list, like The Sandman with 642M minutes viewed and The Waterfront with 543M. Peacock also saw a solid performance for Poker Face with 312M minutes viewed upon the release of the Season 2 finale. On the film side of things, Madea's Destination Wedding came in first, while Kpop Demon Hunters took second. Zombies 4: Rise of the Vampires, which was at No. 7, drew 274M minutes viewed in its release week. See more below.
