Kuwait heads to Bahrain for inaugural West Asian Volleyball Championship
During the camp, Kuwait played three friendly matches — securing victories against Tunisia and Algeria, while losing their final match against Libya 3-1.
The training camp successfully achieved its main objectives, particularly improving player readiness and fostering on-court cohesion. Under the guidance of Argentine head coach Julian Alvarez and assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, the technical staff focused on boosting team chemistry, tactical understanding, and building the experience of the squad, which includes several promising young players.
The squad features 14 players: Abdulaziz Najm, Yousef Mandil, Fahad Saad, Abdulnasser Al-Enezi, Abdullah Al-Enezi, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, Saud Al-Duwisan, Ahmed Al-Munayyes, Rashid Anbar, Athbi Malik, Fares Suleiman, Talal Abdulrazzaq, Ibrahim Mandil, and Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Kuwait has been placed in Group A, alongside Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, while Group B includes Bahrain (the host), Jordan, the UAE, and Lebanon.
Kuwait's campaign begins tomorrow against Oman, followed by a matchup with Saudi Arabia the next day. The team will then conclude its group stage fixtures on Monday with a crucial match against Qatar.
The championship was initially scheduled for last year but was postponed to this summer in coordination with the International Volleyball Federation to ensure its inclusion in the official world rankings. According to Mohammed Salem Al-Kuwari, Secretary-General of the West Asian Volleyball Federation, this move aims to elevate the status of the participating teams and provide them with valuable technical and motivational momentum.

Kuwait Olympic team takes on Egypt again
CAIRO, July 19: Kuwait's Olympic national football team is set to play its fourth friendly match today during its training camp in Cairo, Egypt. The Blue team will meet Egypt at 8:00 pm. at El-Hadaf Stadium. In its third friendly, Kuwait fell to Egypt 3-2. Abdulrahman Al-Rashidi and Jasem Al-Matar scored for the Kuwaiti side. The match was attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Egypt, Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, along with Osama Hussein, Vice President of the Kuwait Football Association for Technical Affairs; board member Dr. Ahmad Ajab; Al-Arabi SC representative Ali Atsh; and National Teams Director Saud Al-Mujaimmed. This camp is part of Kuwait's preparation for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, scheduled for January in Saudi Arabia. Kuwait is in Group B alongside Japan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar. The qualifiers will run from September 1 to 9 in Myanmar. Separately, Kuwait's youth national team played to a 2-2 draw with the Czech youth team Dukla Prague during its ongoing training camp in the Czech Republic. AMMAN, July 19 (KUNA): The Kuwait Disabled Sports Club's wheelchair basketball team has been crowned champion of the West Asian Clubs Cup after a dominant 74–35 victory over Jordan's Ajyal Al-Ghad in the final held recently in Amman. Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, extended her congratulations to the team, hailing the triumph as a reflection of the strong will and determination of Kuwaiti athletes.
