All professionals involved in her care have delivered exceptional support, underpinned by expert leadership and consistent, compassionate effort.Naya has made exceptional progress in her speech therapy. Once communicating with fragmented and underdeveloped language, she can now express her thoughts and needs in complete sentences—and is working towards fluency in three languages. Najla, Speech Therapist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, shared her pride in Naya's accomplishments, noting that her journey demonstrates what is possible with dedication and tailored support.Through occupational therapy, Naya has attained full independence. Tasks that once posed significant challenges are now performed with ease, enabling her to participate in daily life like any other child. Anas, Occupational Therapist, described her transformation as truly rewarding and a reflection of Naya's determination and spirit.Similarly, in physical therapy, Naya has shown immense improvement in her balance and posture, overcoming a history of toe-walking. Karim, Physical Therapist, praised her as a true warrior for her resilience and progress.Today, Naya thrives at Al Bateen Academy – Aldar, actively participating in school life without the support of a shadow teacher. Her seamless integration into the classroom reflects her hard work, the strength of the interventions she received, and the unwavering support surrounding her.Naya's family has been a vital source of strength throughout her journey. The accreditation was granted by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) after ADAFSA met all stringent international accreditation represents global recognition of ADAFSA's competency in providing proficiency testing services, which are a fundamental tool for ensuring the quality and reliability of laboratory diagnostics for camel diseases. It enhances accuracy and efficiency standards while bridging gaps in specialised measurement programmes within this line with this achievement, Biosecurity Affairs Division at ADAFSA—internationally recognised by World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) as a Collaborating Centre for Camel Diseases and a Collaborating Centre for Quality Management Systems—has launched the world's first proficiency programme for evaluating laboratories' efficiency in detecting antibodies for Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in camels. This programme focuses on improving validation processes for diagnostic kits used in antibody detection, supporting global efforts to combat and eradicate the initiatives reflect ADAFSA's commitment to supporting national and international laboratories in developing precise laboratory diagnostics for camel diseases, ensuring high-quality results on a global scale. This latest achievement raises the total number of global certifications obtained by ADAFSA to 15, reinforcing its leadership in food security and animal disease control, particularly camel diseases, and strengthening its scientific status as a global reference centre in this domain. Notably, ADAFSA's Collaborating Centre for Camel Diseases, established in May 2022 and recognised by WOAH, serves as an authoritative scientific body in diagnosing and studying camel diseases. It offers advanced diagnostic, research, and training services in collaboration with leading international institutions. This accreditation further cements Abu Dhabi and the UAE's position as a leading hub for animal health and biosecurity.

14 July 2025 16:04 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has launched the Integrated Postnatal Care Programme under the Women's and Children's Health Strategy. This initiative aims to advance maternal and child health outcomes by ensuring timely, high-quality and accessible postnatal programme highlights the importance of comprehensive postnatal care and reflects DoH's ongoing dedication to advancing the health and well-being of all community postnatal care programme will integrate home visit services, telemedicine, and outpatient care, ensuring that mothers receive continuous and personalised support throughout the postpartum telemedicine session will be offered within the initial days after discharge to monitor the health and wellbeing of mothers and their ensures early detection of potential concerns, provides expert guidance and addresses any immediate postnatal questions, offering peace of mind to mothers. Mothers can also schedule visits to their nearest hospital or primary care clinic at seven to 14 days and again six weeks further support mothers with complications during pregnancies, childbirth complications, or those caring for infants with special needs, the program includes two home visits by nurses or midwives. The first visit occurs within the initial days after discharge, and the second between seven and 14 days Excellency Dr Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) said: 'The postpartum period is one of the most physically and emotionally challenging times in a woman's life – and yet, one of the most overlooked. With the launch of this programme, we prioritise mothers and newborns by providing a robust support system that extends beyond the hospital walls. "By integrating telemedicine, in-person follow-ups, and home-based care, we deliver proactive, personalised services that empower mothers and give every child a healthier start. This is more than just a healthcare programme – it's a commitment to ensuring that every mother and child receives the highest quality of care they deserve.' Abu Dhabi's healthcare ecosystem continues to set a global standard for accessibility, innovation and excellence.
