Nyjah Huston of Laguna Beach nabs two silver medals at X Games
Huston, a 30-year-old Laguna Beach resident, earned silver medals in both the men's skateboard street and men's skateboard street best trick categories.
They were his 24th and 25th X Games medals overall, and he now sits alone in second place in the X Games record books with that total. Bob Burnquist has the most, with 30.
Huston's first-run score of 93.00 led the men's skateboard street competition, before Japan's Yuto Horigome swiped the title with a 95.33 score in his third and final run.
Filipe Mota of Brazil won gold in men's skateboard street trick, followed by Huston.
Huston was also announced as a founding athlete of the X Games League, which will start in summer 2026 with a team-based, seasonal league format. Ryan Sheckler and Ryan Williams are the other founding athletes.
Skateboarding and BMX bike racing will headline the inaugural Summer X Games League.

'The new format gives sponsors and media more opportunities to tell the awesome stories of our athletes that often get overlooked compared to mainstream sports. Share A Tribute to Skateboarding Legacy Since 1966, Vans has been the go-to shoe for skateboarders. In 1976, legendary skater Tony Alva began working directly with the brand to make shoes tough enough to handle the rigors of skating. In fact, his own skateboarding style inspired the now-iconic 'Off the Wall' tagline. Nearly five decades later, Alva has returned alongside Steve Van Doren, Vans' Unofficial Ambassador of Fun. Their mission? To build a fully wearable Vans skate shoe made of paper. Innovation Meets Imagination Ernest Packaging, known for creating the impossible with paper, engineered a durable and flexible version of Vans' iconic checkerboard pattern using their own cardboard materials. Once completed, Alva, Van Doren and skate legend Christian Hosoi traveled to the Vans factory to oversee the production of the shoes. The cardboard upper withstood every construction challenge, including the vulcanization process (275° heat and 20 PSI of pressure). The result? A fully formed skate shoe unlike the world had ever seen. The Shred Test Once constructed, the cardboard Vans were ready to hit pavement and the empty pools. Hosoi and Alva slid them on to hit their local skate spots, as did fellow legendary skater Omar Hassan. Then, Olympic skateboarder, X Games champ and all-around phenom Lizzie Armanto tested them on the halfpipe. The cardboard Vans verdict? Totally skateable. We made a custom pair of cardboard Vans shoes with Steve Van Doren, with professional skateboarders, with all these amazing people and, I mean, there are just no words. Because it's just too much. It's too cool.' Cardboard Chaos Continues The project joins a growing list of mindblowing cardboard creations from the Ernest Cardboard Chaos series. It started back in 2014 when Ernest partnered with Signal Snowboards to create the first cardboard snowboard. This series went on to include a skateboard for Tony Hawk, a surfboard, a wakeboard and more. The one-of-a-kind Fender guitars, drum kit and Wurlitzer keyboard created for Cardboard Chaos inspired a spinoff. Colby Raha broke the world record, previously held by Seth Enslow, for longest motorcycle jump as thousands looked on at the Sturgis Rally. STURGIS, SOUTH DAKOTA — Sturgis Motocross daredevil Colby Raha made history on Aug. 2 when he broke the Harley-Davidson distance jump world record, landing a 205-foot jump as thousands of fans cheered on. Raha, 30, shattered the world record on the second day of the 85th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the Thunderdome as he zoomed about 80 miles per hour toward a jump ramp. The motorcycle rally is held in the western South Dakota town, and takes place over 10 days. "You don't see anyone else lining up to do this," said Raha, before attempting to break the 15-year record previously held by motorcyclist and stunt performer Seth Enslow. Enslow had owned the record since 2010, when he rode a modified Harley-Davidson XR1200 Sportster and made a world record jump of 183.7 feet in Australia. The jump was first benchmarked by Evel Knievel, a stunt performer and entertainer, in 1975. X Games adds new twist: An artificial intelligence judge for snowboard event After four attempts, Raha successfully soared 205 feet on a 550 pound V-Twin Harley-Davidson Sportster. "This jump at the Thunderdome in Sturgis channeled the spirit of Evel Knievel, an absolute legend of the sport. And I'm beyond stoked to have landed it as part of my Record Breakers event,' Raha said. 'It was a dream to push the limits at the Thunderdome, and I felt really dialed in the whole time. Colorado's Woodward Barn terrain park lets skiers, riders train all summer long
A Colorado terrain park is keeping skiers and riders who "send it" flying through the summer. Part trampoline park, part skate park, part ski jump, the Woodward Barn at Copper offers opportunities for skaters, skiers and riders of all ages to hone their craft without relying on snow. Impressive youngsters like Rhys Miller can be found there casually spinning and flipping their way around the barn, either on trampolines or actual ramps, riding what's called a "rollerboard," preparing for winter. "I've been working on under flips, sevens, backside, front side, and some switch flips," Rhys explained. "If it's one of the bigger tricks, I do get a little bit nervous, but on smaller tricks, I think I got it." Aside from building a list of tricks you might see in the XGames, Woodward Barn helps those young and old build up confidence, without the costly injuries that can come on the slopes if you hit a jump wrong, land on your head, or end up straddling a rail you were hoping to grind. Rhys, who took second place in the grommet boys halfpipe competition at the United States of America Freeski and Snowboard Association 2024 National Championships, knows from experience. He's getting back into his sport after breaking his leg recently. Now he's back in the barn, doing what he loves without fear. "You just do it," Rhys said to CBS Colorado, after being asked how he musters the courage to throw a big trick. He's now looking forward to his winter season, where he'll have even more tricks to take to the park. The Woodward Barn opened its doors in February 2009 with a 19,400-square-foot facility initially designed with Snowflex, a synthetic surface that mimicked the feel of snow. You might have seen other facilities with similar set-ups! Then in 2014, the Snowflex was replaced with Skatelite, a durable and smooth material commonly used in skateparks. This transition was accompanied by the introduction of specialized wheeled skis and snowboards with wheels embedded into the board itself, instead of sitting on top like a skateboard. This allows for a different, yet highly effective, training experience.
