Kerolin hat-trick leads Brazil past Bolivia in dominant Copa America Win
Brazil lived up to expectations and controlled the match at Estadio Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda in Quito, Ecuador from the outset, with Luany opening the scoring in the 13th minute, smashing a powerful shot in off the crossbar from the centre of the box after a corner.
The Atletico Madrid striker doubled her tally in the 32nd minute, pouncing on a rebound after the Bolivian goalkeeper spilled Kerolin's effort.
She then earned a penalty that captain Kerolin calmly converted to make it 3–0 five minutes later.
Brazil great Marta came off the bench in the second half and set up Kerolin's second goal in the 79th minute, before the Manchester City forward completed her hat-trick four minutes later.
Things went from bad to worse for Bolivia, who were reduced to 10 players after Angelina Rivero picked up a second yellow card, before Brazil substitute Amanda Gutierres sealed the rout five minutes into stoppage time.

De Bruyne, who turned 34 last month, said he had much to learn in Italy, but with Belgium teammate and polyglot Romelu Lukaku by his side, the learning curve looks far less steep as he adjusts to Antonio Conte's side. "Napoli already are champions but they are still improving their squad... I am hoping that I can help the team grow and I will also learn from them, a new way of playing, a new competition," De Bruyne said. "Romelu was happy (about the move), I spoke with him in the national team (camp), he wanted me to join. I know Romelu since we were 13-years-old, so we are really tight together. When we played in Chelsea we lived together for two or three months. "It makes it a little bit easier that I know him because he is somebody who can translate for me and it helps because he knows the coach, he knows the team." Napoli begin their 2025–26 Serie A campaign on August 13 with a trip to Sassuolo.

Lions dominate early to down Wallabies 27-19 in first test
BRISBANE :British & Irish Lions rode a rampant first-half display to a 27-19 victory over Australia in the first test on Saturday, running in three tries in the first 41 minutes and holding off a late Wallabies fightback for a comfortable victory. Superior in all facets of the game in the first hour, the Lions scored tries through Sione Tuipulotu, Tom Curry and Dan Sheehan while Finn Russell added nine points from the kicking tee. Max Jorgensen crossed in the first half for the Wallabies and they improved when they cleared the bench in the second half but tries from replacements Carlo Tizzano and Tate McDermott were too little, too late. "We're delighted with the win. The game was a tough test match," said Lions captain Maro Itoje. "I thought we started well in the first half. We played a lot of good stuff. "Then the second half was a bit to and fro from both sides. I think that's a good position for us to be in." The Wallabies, rank underdogs, made a nervous start amid a cacophony of noise from the 52,229 crowd, and Russell gave the tourists an early lead with a penalty inside the first couple of minutes. Russell was in the thick of it again when the Lions next got into the Australia 22 in the ninth minute, the Scotland flyhalf considering a crosskick before swinging a pass out wide for Melbourne-born Tuipulotu to run in unopposed. Lions centre Huw Jones had a try scratched off for a double movement 10 minutes later but the Wallabies were kicking poorly and rarely threatened to break out of their own half let alone score. Jorgensen produced a try out of nothing just before the half-hour mark, however, tearing a high ball out of the hands of Lions fullback Hugo Keenan and racing away to dive over in the corner. Flyhalf Tom Lynagh, making a shaky first test start, missed the conversion and the Lions were soon 17-5 up after flanker Curry, controversially selected ahead of Wales captain Jac Morgan, powered over the line from close range. Curry's impressive physicality could have got him into trouble just before the break when he tackled Lynagh in the air but referee Ben O'Keeffe kept his cards in his pocket. 'BIG MOMENTS' Australia's lineout had been malfunctioning all game and they paid a price for it straight after the break when the Lions midfield ran rampant with turnover ball and quick hands from Curry sent hooker Sheehan over in the corner. Russell maintained his perfect night from the kicking tee to extend the lead to 24-5 as the coaches started bringing on their replacements. Australia finally mounted some sustained pressure around the hour mark and centre Joseph Suaalii got over the line on a crash ball only for O'Keeffe to penalise him for not releasing as he was dragged forward by the Lions pack. Replacement flanker Tizzano did muscle his way over the line for a converted try to cut the deficit to 24-12 eight minutes later, but replacement Marcus Smith gave the Lions a bit more of a cushion with a 73rd minute penalty. The Wallabies were now attacking with more fluency but the impressive Lions defence held on until a minute from time when McDermott skipped over the line for what was another consolation try. "It's obviously disappointing," said Wallabies captain Harry Wilson. "We came in wanting to win, and I feel as if we probably didn't really get our game going there like we would have liked. "They won a few big moments, and that's something which we want to do and make sure we do next week."

England defender Morgan still buzzing after wild shootout win
ZURICH :England defender Esme Morgan said on Saturday it had been difficult to sleep since her team's "ridiculous" come-from-behind quarter-final victory over Sweden with its wild penalty shootout that will not be soon forgotten. With the defending champions facing Italy in the semi-finals on Tuesday, the 24-year-old was still buzzing from Thursday's chaotic night in Zurich that featured injuries, a bloody nose, a mysterious note, and a wacky shootout that will go down as one of the worst but one of the most memorable ever. "Obviously that was ridiculous really, to sum it up in one word," Morgan said. The one negative on the night was captain Leah Williamson limping off with an ankle injury, but Morgan said the team were optimistic she would be available to face Italy. "She seemed in very high spirits this morning," she said. Morgan was one of coach Sarina Wiegman's 70th-minute substitutes in the Sweden game. "Apparently my mom was sobbing when I came on, bless her," she said. The television camera spotted Morgan handing a note to fellow defender Lucy Bronze. Morgan joked later on Instagram that the note said "Save us GOAT." The 33-year-old Bronze was huge in England's victory, scoring in the 79th minute and then hastily unwrapping her taped hamstring to smash home the winning penalty in the shootout. "We are all inspired by her mentality, she's a freak really in that she just has so much passion, energy, fight and she infects everyone else with it," Morgan said. "That note might as well have said that because that's apparently what she read on it. She put her shoulders back and played like: 'I'm not letting us go home'." IMPRESSIVE KELLY Chloe Kelly was also impressive as a late substitute, and was one of three England players who found the back of the net in the shootout with her oddball run-up - she lifts one hip high, does a little skip, before firing with her right. Kelly joked after that she had been "bursting for a wee." "Chloe said afterward that she made eye contact with the goalkeeper (Jennifer Falk) and the keeper was smirking at her, and she just started laughing," Morgan said. "The composure in that moment to be so free and at ease and confident to be able to laugh just shows what a brilliant player she is." Morgan also praised keeper Hannah Hampton who made two saves in the shootout despite a bloody nostril stuffed with gauze thanks to an errant elbow earlier. When asked if there was a moment during the match when she doubted England would win, Morgan said just before halftime. "I thought 'I've not packed anything,'" she laughed. Many of the players stayed up well into the early morning after the win. "It's just so hard to switch, especially when it's been such a game of roller-coaster emotions, your heart is just pounding and you keep replaying moments," she said. "There was a lot of laughing at things that happened within the game, a few of us got together to watch that night's 'Love Island' episode to try and tire us out."
