
Construction of Polavaram project's ECRF dam commenced parallel to new diaphragm wall works, says Water Resource Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu
Speaking to newsmen at a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Rama Naidu has claimed that the construction of the diaphragm wall would be completed by the year-end.
'The diaphragm wall works worth ₹990 crore are in full swing while ₹1,200 crore has been allocated to complete the Left Main Canal (LMC) of the Polavaram irrigation project to provide irrigation and drinking water for the North Andhra region, including Visakhapatnam city, for industrial needs', said Mr. Rama Naidu.
On completion of the Polavaram project, Mr. Rama Naidu has said, 'Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has appealed to the engineers to complete the construction by June 2027, marking the Godavari Pushkarams. Otherwise, the project is set to be commissioned by the end of 2027'.

The ERO said, BLO Farzana Khatoon, who again verified the details, stated that Asha Devi is a voter at booth number 292 at Middle School Feku Tola and has a Aadhaar card and she is placed in serial number 296 of part 235 of the electoral roll dated Jan 7. Talking to this newspaper on Wednesday, Bhagalpur DM Nawal Kishor Choudhary said he checked the Aadhaar of Asha Devi in which her date of birth is mentioned as Jan 1, 1905. The BLO Farzana Khatoon again visited Feku Tola at Srimatpur Kali Prasad village and made available Aadhaar and photo of Asha Devi to the election officials. It is a matter of pride that 120-year old Asha Devi is a voter, he said, adding the controversy over her age was being created unnecessarily.

Polavaram D-wall works at brisk pace in Andhra
VIJAYAWADA: Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu announced major progress in the Polavaram Project. At a press conference, he stated that 500 metres of the 1,396-metre Gap-2 diaphragm wall have been completed. The previously stalled project is now advancing with three trench cutters and grabbers, aiming for completion by December 2025. Dewatering operations are enabling steady work even during floods. The buttress dam, reinforcing the upper cofferdam, is over 90% complete, correcting past structural errors. The minister emphasised that the Chief Minister is prioritising the project.
