Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll (hand) to return for Canadian GP

Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll will drive in his home-nation race, the Canadian Grand Prix, this weekend after undergoing a procedure to treat pain in his hand and wrist.
Stroll, 26, missed the Spanish Grand Prix on June 1.
The pain is believed to have stemmed from a 2023 medical procedure that was related to a cycling accident.
'We are pleased to confirm that Lance Stroll will be back with the team competing in Montreal this weekend,' a team statement read on Wednesday, declaring him ready to drive the 70 laps of the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal.
'He had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week.
'Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.'
Stroll said he was looking forward to being in the driver's seat.
'I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd.
'I'm feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend.'Stroll has 14 points on the F1 circuit this season, putting him in 12th place. His achieved his best position of 2025 in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix when he finished sixth.
He has made 175 starts in Formula 1. His highest finish is third place, which he achieved three times.
Stroll's billionaire father, Lawrence Stroll, owns the Aston Martin team.

Darren Yapi added his seventh goal -- and his fourth in his last four games -- as the Rapids (10-11-6, 36 points) earned consecutive MLS wins for the first time since May 17 and 24. The Rapids have now scored 12 goals in their last five MLS games, their highest-scoring stretch this season, while moving up one spot to seventh in the Western Conference. Alexey Miranchuk scored his sixth goal of the season for Atlanta (4-12-10, 22 points), which saw its winless run stretch to 10 matches and remained winless on the road. Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan got a hand on both Navarro goals -- and probably should have stopped the second -- while Miranchuk unintentionally blocked a near-certain second Atlanta goal by Tristan Muyumba later in the second half. Navarro had been tied with Djordje Mihailovic with nine goals before the latter was dealt to Toronto FC in a cash trade earlier this month. Navarro dribbled into the area in the 62nd minute, defended by Juan Berrocal. As Berrocal made a challenge, Navarro changed direction. The defender caught Navarro's leg instead of the ball, and referee Victor Rivas had no choice but to point to the spot. Navarro's ensuing 64th-minute penalty overpowered Guzan, who had correctly guessed to his left. Navarro added his second from open play seven minutes later. After an attack down the right, Calvin Harris lost the ball at the edge of the penalty area under the weight of an Atlanta challenge. As other Rapids players appealed for another penalty, Navarro reached the loose ball and hammered a powerful low shot at Guzan, who was in position to make the save but spilled the ball over the line. Muyumba thought he had pulled a goal back for Atlanta in the 75th minute when he received a low cross on the back post with Colorado goalkeeper Zack Steffen stranded. CF Montreal, D.C. United each score in first half of 1-1 draw

United on Saturday. It's the first time this season that Montreal (4-15-8, 20 points) has earned points in three straight. D.C. (4-15-8, 20 points) snapped a five-match losing streak but remains winless in its past 10 (0-8-2). Petrasso pulled Montreal level in the 41st minute. Caden Clark deflected a pass attempt by D.C. defender Aaron Herrera, creating a rush with Prince Owusu. Owusu maintained possession of the ball inside the top of the box and then sent a feed to Petrasso, who put it by the right arm of goalkeeper Luis Barraza on the near side. Jackson Hopkins gave D.C. a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute. The 21-year-old kept pace with a bouncing ball high in the attacking third, catching up with it at the arc before firing a right-foot strike past the outstretched arm of goalkeeper Thomas Gillier. Owusu appeared to put the hosts in front 2-1 in the 58th minute when Petrasso repaid the favor with a feed to the German striker deep inside the box, but the offside flag was raised, nullifying the goal. Second-place Dream take on Valkyries looking to win season series

The clubs have split their first two matchups, both in Atlanta, with the Dream riding Allisha Gray's 24 points to a 90-81 triumph in early July, before the Valkyries got even when Cecilia Zandalasini hit a short jumper with 3.9 seconds remaining to provide the difference in a 77-75 win in the rematch three weeks later. The Dream have since won six of seven to move into second place in the WNBA standings, a half-game ahead of the New York Liberty. The only loss in the run came Friday night in the league's first-ever game outside the United States, when Atlanta was beaten 80-78 by the Seattle Storm. The teams had met two nights earlier in Seattle, with the Dream running their winning streak to six games with an 85-75 win. The venture into Canada gave the Dream four games in nine days on the road, a stretch that will become six games in 13 days by the time their trip ends Tuesday in Las Vegas. The six-game trip is the team's second since July 13. The positive is that the Dream will finish the regular season with seven of nine at home. 'I just need to talk to whoever made that schedule,' Dream veteran Brittney Griner joked with reporters recently. '(But) to win (a) championship, you're going to have to win on the road at some point. These are all good tests for us.' The Dream might have ventured outside the country to play a game, but they are no match for the Valkyries in terms of international experience. The expansion franchise had four players leave the team to play in the EuroBasket event earlier this season, and just now seem to be putting the pieces together. Golden State is coming off a two-game trip in which foreign-born players contributed 41 points to an 88-83 win at Washington and 59 points to Friday's 90-59 win at Chicago. Italy native Zandalasini had 20 points in each of the victories. 'We're just playing very confident. We know what everybody needs to do,' Zandalasini told reporters after Friday's win. 'The communication, I think we've raised that. Now that we are communicating more, we're also seeing those results.'
