Gunmen Abduct Child In Milwaukee As Father Abandons 7-Year-Old, Runs To Safety
In a chilling video that recently went viral, a seven-year-old boy was kidnapped at gunpoint in the US state of Milwaukee last week. What's more shocking is how his father responded to the situation. According to the visuals, the boy's father chose to abandon his son and flee the scene.
The timeline of events has sparked outrage among netizens, who have heavily criticised the father's reaction. In the footage obtained by WISN, Jamal White, the seven-year-old boy, can be seen playing and riding his bike near his home in Milwaukee. However, the joy quickly turned into horror when a white Jeep Renegade pulled up near the family's driveway.
The vehicle reportedly surveyed the area before blocking the driveway. As soon as it stopped, two men jumped out and grabbed the child. Shockingly, his father, Jamal Sr., abandoned the abducted boy and ran straight into the house. Moments later, he reappeared and was seen slamming the trunk of his car.
Initial details released by the police described one suspect as a Black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. Authorities also issued an Amber Alert shortly after the abduction.
Responding to the backlash over his actions, the father wrote on Facebook, 'Hell yeah I ran," claiming that he believed the men were there to rob him, not kidnap his son.
Fortunately, the boy was found safe within a day at a house just a few miles from his home. The father also mentioned that his son used escape strategies he had been taught.
So far, three people have been arrested in connection with the incident. The boy's uncle, Jamel K. White, was among those taken into custody for allegedly opening fire on two men, as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He faces charges of recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. However, the 27-year-old uncle has not been charged in relation to the abduction. He stated that he fired his weapon out of fear for his family's safety, not to harm anyone.
Two men, aged 27 and 25, have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. While the motive for the crime has not yet been confirmed, police say the investigation remains active.

No safety for girls in TN, claims AIADMK chief Palaniswami
Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu), Jul 19 (PTI) AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday claimed crimes against women were increasing in Tamil Nadu and that even young girls were not safe. He alleged that criminals were getting emboldened and flayed the ruling DMK for not ensuring safety for girls and women. Addressing a rally here as part of his statewide campaign to 'protect people, and redeem Tamil Nadu", Palaniswami said, 'the culprit who allegedly raped a ten-year-old girl in Gummidipoondi is yet to be arrested. Young girls, women and even elderly persons are not safe in the DMK rule." 'Do you want such a government to continue?" the former CM asked, and the crowd replied with a thunderous 'no". Speaking at Vedaranyam, famous for the salt sathyagraha against the British, Palaniswami said people were 'disillusioned' on all fronts with the present DMK regime and 'they are ready for another Satyagraha – this time against the DMK to vote out that party in next year's Assembly election." Earlier, Palaniswami, accompanied by party seniors, visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, also known as the Velankanni church, lit a candle and offered prayers. While addressing a roadshow in Nagapattinam, he paused for a few minutes from his campaign vehicle till the Muslims in the neighbourhood completed their evening prayers. US Flight Diverted After Man Tries To Open Emergency Door Mid-Air, Threatens To Kill Attendant
The SkyWest Flight 612 was carrying 67 passengers and four crew members when the disturbance took place A US flight from Detroit to Omaha was forced to make an emergency landing after a man attempted to open the emergency exit door mid-air and threatened to kill a flight attendant. The incident took place on Thursday (July 17) and the passenger, 23-year-old Mario Nikprelaj, also pushed a flight attendant during the episode. The SkyWest Flight 612 was carrying 67 passengers and four crew members when the disturbance occurred. According to a report by The New York Times, as the situation escalated, the pilots diverted the flight and made a safe landing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where police were waiting. Nikprelaj was then escorted off the plane and taken into custody. The 23-year-old is currently being held in Linn County under a federal hold and is expected to make his first court appearance next week at the federal court in Cedar Rapids. According to fellow passenger Jonathan Spencer Van der Waarden, who spoke to the publication, Nikprelaj had been behaving oddly even before takeoff. He stood up during the takeoff and later attempted to open the emergency exit during the drink service. Crew members and passengers quickly intervened to stop him. SkyWest Airlines released a statement confirming that the flight was diverted due to 'an unruly customer." The airline said the plane later continued its journey after the passenger was removed. 'SkyWest has zero tolerance for unruly behaviour as safety for our customers and crew is our top priority," the statement added. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched an investigation into the incident. 'The FBI takes threats to aviation seriously and we work with our partners to address crimes occurring on commercial aircraft that endanger the safety of passengers, flight crews, and flight attendants," the agency said. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Anti-sacrilege bill will ensure exemplary punishment: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann
Shehna (Barnala), July 19 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said the anti-sacrilege bill, which was introduced in the state assembly, will ensure exemplary punishment for those who indulge in desecration of religious scriptures. Mann reiterated his government's commitment to curb sacrilege incidents. On July 14, the AAP government introduced in the House the Punjab Prevention of Offences Against Holy Scripture(s) Bill, 2025 — proposing punishment up to life imprisonment for sacrilege acts against religious scriptures. The state assembly referred the bill to a select committee of the House to seek public opinion including religious bodies on the proposed legislation. The chief minister emphasised that this sensitive and critical issue affects all Punjabis and has far-reaching implications for both present and future generations. Stringent punishment is necessary to serve as a deterrent against such crimes, Mann said during his address. On his government's anti-drug drive, he said the 'Yudh Nasheyan Virudh' (war against drugs) campaign has proven the effectiveness of the state government's strategy in tackling drug abuse. He pointed out that the drug menace had long tarnished Punjab's image. In response, his government adopted a multi-pronged approach — disrupting drug supply chains, arresting major offenders, rehabilitating victims, and seizing or destroying illegally acquired property of drug smugglers. As part of the anti-drug campaign, the chief minister said panchayats have been passing resolutions to declare their villages drug-free. He said that his government will not sit idle while smugglers thrive at the cost of the lives of drug victims. The state has already snapped drug supply lines and jailed key players involved in the trade, Mann said, adding that for the first time, the illegally acquired properties of drug smugglers are being confiscated or demolished, serving as a strong deterrent to others. Speaking about the agricultural sector, Mann said he had promised to ensure paddy transplantation without the use of tubewells. He expressed pride that canal water has now reached even the remotest villages at the tail ends of the state and said that since taking office, the government has revived 15,947 water channels across Punjab. Mann said that at the time he assumed office, only 21 per cent of canal water was being used for irrigation but today that number has risen to 63 per cent. He also mentioned that his government successfully safeguarded Punjab's water resources from being diverted to other states.
