Alex Bowman admits he "choked that one away" in tough Homestead loss
Motorsport photo
Alex Bowman started Sunday's race from pole position and was looking to follow the example set by Tyler Reddick last year as the latest driver to win this race from the front of the grid. Bowman led 43 laps and was collecting stage points throughout the day.
On the final restart with just over 50 laps remaining, Bowman was in fourth but quickly made it three-wide for the race lead. While Bubba Wallace escaped and drove away, he was able to run him back down within 20 laps and power into the race lead. Unfortunately for him, his teammate Kyle Larson was making an extremely high line work, running right up against the outside wall.

Bowman tried to counter as his lead evaporated, but it didn't work, as the wall grabbed him, slowing him down at the exit of Turn 4, coming to six to go. That made Larson's job easy as he drove on by and never looked back.
"I guess I choked that one away," lamented Bowman after the race. "Saw the 5 [Larson] coming, so moved around a little bit. Not when he passed me, but the time before that I hit it hard with the right front and ended up just bending something enough that I lost a lot of right front feel and then I pulled it off the wall too far right there, and ended up hitting the fence pretty bad.
"So I hate that for this Ally 48 group. They deserve better than that. Just a couple of mistakes there. I felt like we were okay all day. That last run was the best we were ... Hate it for Mr. Hendrick. Congrats to Kyle. We're going to try get another one this week."

Sunday's runner-up result was Bowman's best result since winning at the Chicago Street Course last summer and his first top-five finish ever at Homestead. He leaves this race third in the championship standings, trailing his Hendrick teammates Larson and William Byron, who sits atop the points pile.

'What a journey': Arsenal fans sent emotional message as summer exit confirmed
Moving on: Kieran Tierney is leaving Arsenal after six years this summer, rejoining former club Celtic (Getty Images) Kieran Tierney has bid an emotional farewell to Arsenal after rejoining Celtic. The Scottish left-back is departing north London this summer after six years following the expiration of his contract, one of 20 players released by the Gunners across their men's, women's and youth teams. Advertisement Tierney had long since been linked with a return to Celtic, where he previously spent 14 years, graduated from the academy and made 170 senior appearances before leaving for Arsenal in a £25million deal in 2019, winning eight domestic trophies in total. That homecoming has now been officially announced, with the defender penning a five-year contract to head back to Glasgow and rejoin a dominant Brendan Rodgers side who almost won another domestic treble this season, only to be dramatically pipped to Scottish Cup glory by Aberdeen in extra time. Tierney has now written a heartfelt goodbye to Arsenal after that move was confirmed, writing on social media: 'Full of emotions these last few weeks! To be part of this special club for 6 years has meant so much to me and I'm grateful for every single second of it. 'To every member of staff and team mate I've had the pleasure of working with, thank you for everything you've done for me. I'm so lucky to have worked with many amazing people who I learned so much from and helped me every day. Advertisement 'To the fans, what a journey these last 6 years have been. All I can really say is thank you for the support and love you've given me through the good and the bad times. 'I appreciated everything and never took any of it for granted. It's been fun. North London forever.' Tierney was initially a mainstay at left-back after joining Arsenal, forming a key part of the side that lifted the FA Cup under Mikel Arteta in 2019/20, their last major trophy, as well as winning two Community Shields as he made 144 total appearances across all competitions. However, he also struggled with injury and ended up slipping down the defensive pecking order under Arteta, who replaced him with Oleksandr Zinchenko as his new first-choice left-back in the summer of 2022. Tierney, who earned his 50th international cap for Scotland last week, spent time out on loan in Spain with Real Sociedad last season, returning to Arsenal and being limited to just 20 outings this term, only four of which were starts.

Altman-Backed Robot Delivery Startup Raises $80 Million in Funding
Coco Robotics, a startup that operates a fleet of cooler-sized delivery robots on wheels, has raised $80 million in funding from OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman and other backers, a sign that automated delivery technology is advancing. The financing, which Coco Robotics plans to announce Wednesday, was led by venture capital firm SNR, with participation from investors including Pelion Venture Partners, Offline Ventures and one of Altman's brothers, Max. With the new funding, Coco Robotics, whose corporate name is Cyan Robotics Inc., has raised more than $110 million to date, including a prior round that was led by OpenAI's Altman. The company declined to provide a valuation. Founded in 2020, Coco Robotics is one of a number of startups deploying robots to expedite deliveries in urban spaces. The Santa Monica, California-based company currently operates a fleet of about 1,300 electric robots in Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and Helsinki, CEO and co-founder Zach Rash told Bloomberg News. The company has partnerships with food delivery services DoorDash Inc. and Uber Technologies Inc. 's Uber Eats and is starting to work directly with merchants, he said. The startup also announced a tie-up with OpenAI in March. Under the agreement, Coco Robotics is using OpenAI's technology, along with its own software, to help its robots avoid obstacles and make decisions on the fly. It also shares data with OpenAI about delivery trips in urban environments. Altman was not involved in the partnership discussions between OpenAI and Coco Robotics, Rash said. Coco Robotics will use the new funds to improve the technology that helps power its robots and to scale up its fleet, Rash said. He expects to have at least 10,000 robots in operation by the end of next year. Coco Robotics plans to roll out the robots in major cities in the US and Europe, he added, without naming specific locations.
