Andrew 'King Bach' Bachelor Joins Shamier Anderson in ‘Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story' Miniseries
Bachelor, also known as King Bach, will play U.S. sprinter Carl Lewis, a fierce rival to Canadian Ben Johnson (Anderson) who in 1988 cheated his way to a gold medal in the 100 meter final at the Seoul Olympics.

Bachelor starred in Netflix comedy Coffee and Kareem, alongside Taraji P. Henson, Ed Helms and Betty Gilpin, the Netflix horror The Babysitter: Killer Queen with Jenna Ortega, and the romantic comedy Holidate with Emma Roberts and Kristin Chenoweth.
Bachelor will bring his real-life sprinting background while attending Florida State University, and that of his athlete father in Jamaica, to the role. 'Carl Lewis was a hero of mine — not just because of his dominance, but because he excelled in multiple events, just like I did. The rivalry between Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis is one of the most iconic in sports history. To be a part of bringing that story to life is an incredible honor and a full-circle moment for me,' he said in a statement.
The six-parter, set to air on Paramount+ and GameTV in Canada in 2026, has also added Kids in the Hall alum Mark McKinney, Karen Robinson, Ennis Esmer, Kristian Bruun, Malaika Hennie Hamadi, Ryan Belleville, Darryl Hinds, Lisa Horner, Emma Hunter, Suresh John, Jonathan Langdon, Gita Miller, Andrew Phung and Dewshane Williams to the ensemble cast.
The Canadian miniseries is produced by New Metric Media and Bay Mills Studios. A synopsis from the producers reads: 'Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story is Canadian sprinter Johnson's definitely-not-biased account of the doping controversy that rocked the 1988 Olympics when he tested positive for banned steroid use, going from hero to zero in 9.79 seconds in what some called 'The Dirtiest Race in History'. The series takes a revealing and satirical look at the events surrounding the legendary race and the scandal behind the scandal.'
The series, which has the participation of Ben Johnson, is created by Anthony Q. Farrell (The Office, Shelved, Run the Burbs), who serves as showrunner. He also shares executive producer credits with Mark Montefiore, R.T. Thorne, Anderson and Stephan James.
Lana Maclin will produce and Max Wolfond is a supervising producer. Cory Bowles and Thorne will direct.

Jussie Smollett Returns To Fox For ‘Special Forces' Reality Show
Actor Jussie Smollett, who has seldom been seen on screen since he was accused of staging a hate crime in 2019, will star in the new season of Fox's 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test,' marking his return to the network following his rise to fame on the drama series 'Empire.' (Photo by) Getty Images Smollett is one of 18 celebrities who will star on season four of 'Special Forces,' a reality competition show in which participants face difficult challenges resembling actual military training. The series premieres on Sept. 25 and will be Smollett's first gig on Fox since 'Empire' wrapped up in 2020 at the height of controversy over Smollett's allegedly staged hate crime. Smollett has seldom worked in film or television since the fallout over the alleged hate crime incident: He directed two independent films, 'B-Boy Blues' (2021) and 'The Lost Holliday' (2024), which were backed by his own production company but were not widely seen. Smollett, who rose to fame starring on 'Empire' between 2015 and 2020, claimed in January 2019 he was the victim of a hate crime and told police two men physically attacked him, poured an unknown liquid on him and called him racial and homophobic slurs. Smollett quickly garnered an outpouring of support from politicians and fellow celebrities, but following a police investigation, Smollett was charged in February 2019 with disorderly conduct and filing a false police report. Charges were dropped the next month in exchange for Smollett completing community service. But in 2020, following another investigation, a special prosecutor charged Smollett again for disorderly conduct and filing a false police report. He faced trial and was found guilty on five of six counts, and in 2022, he was sentenced to 150 days in jail and fined. Smollett served six days in jail and was released after his lawyers filed an appeal, arguing he shouldn't have been charged again after the initial charges were dropped. In November, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned Smollett's conviction. What To Watch For A documentary purporting to have 'new evidence' about Smollett's case will premiere on Netflix later this month. Netflix announced 'The Truth About Jussie Smollett?' in July, which it says will investigate the 'shocking true story of an allegedly fake story that some now say might just be a true story.' The documentary is produced by RAW TV, the company behind popular Netflix documentaries 'Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer' and 'The Tinder Swindler.' The upcoming fourth season of 'Special Forces' will also feature 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia, Olympic athletes Shawn Johnson East and Christie Pearce Rampone, Bravo star Brittany Cartwright and social media celebrity Brianna LaPaglia. Pamela Anderson Responds to Rumors of a Meghan Markle Feud
Pamela Anderson, who is currently riding high on her rumored relationship with Liam Neeson (we stan so hard!!) and Top Gun promotion, just proved that she's the ultimate girls girl by shutting down rumors of an alleged feud with Megan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. Earlier this year, the Duchess launched f her cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix, which some viewers claimed bore a strong resemblance to Pamela's own series, Pamela's Cooking with Love, which also features cooking and entertaining tips. Some online commentary in response included barbed remarks about Meghan 'copying' Pamela's idea, from format to name. The trailer for Pamela's show dropped back in October 2024, around three months ahead of the trailer for Meghan's, and her series came out the week before the Duchess of Sussex's aired (though it doesn't appear to have been picked up in the U.S.)—however, we all know that TV shows take a long time to prepare, shoot and edit, so the more realistic explanation (rather than copycat-ism) is that both women had similar ideas independently of one another and the timelines just slightly overlapped. Now, Pamela has come out to confirm that this is very much the case and that there's no ill feelings between her and Meghan. When appearing as a guest on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Pamela was asked, 'On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love? There were articles saying these two shows were very similar,' the host queried. In response? Pamela quickly stated, 'One – I didn't [...] I didn't really look, but I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing.' Amen to that! There's space for everyone and no need to pit the two women against one another. The second series of With Love, Meghan is set to be released on Netflix later this year and as yet there's no confirmation that Pamela's Cooking with Love will be returning.

Is Lady Gaga in ‘Wednesday' Season 2 Part 1?
Wednesday season two has officially arrived on Netflix, welcoming us back to the world of Nevermore Academy as Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to school for another year. When season two was first announced the streamer also announced a bunch of exciting new cast members who would be joining the lineup including Lady Gaga, Thandiwe Newton, Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Heather Matarazzo, and Dame Joanna Lumley. And now that the first four episodes are out on Netflix, we've been able to see these new characters in action. Well, except for one major exception. Lady Gaga is nowhere to be seen (and no she's not invisible likes Agnes either). So why is the icon missing from the first half of Wednesday season 2? Here's what you need to know. All the way back in season 1, Lady Gaga had a majorly unexpected involvement in the show, thanks to her song 'Bloody Mary' going viral after Wednesday danced to it during one of the scenes. Following this, in November of 2024, it was announced that Lady Gaga would be joining the cast in an undisclosed role in season 2. And so given this, we were all very hyped up to see the singer make an appearance during the season. However, as the show is being split in two, it turns out Gaga won't actually be starring in the first half. Given how she was absent for the premiere and all the press junkets for Wednesday so far, it's perhaps not surprising that she didn't appear in the first four episodes which came out on Wednesday, Aug. 6. One thing we do know is Lady Gaga is reportedly said to have a new song debuting in Wednesday season 2 part 2, which will coincide with her guest star role. Tim Burton recently spoke about Gaga's involvement in the series, telling Variety: 'She's such an artist and so for me, working with an artist is inspirational.' When she does eventually make her appearance in the second half of Wednesday season 2, we do know who she will be playing. Back in May 2025 at Netflix's live Tudum event, the streamer confirmed Lady Gaga will be playing 'the mysterious and enigmatic Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.' Given the words 'legendary' some fans have theorized this means Gaga's character is not alive and instead could appear as a spirit of some kind. Either way we're really hoping a duet with Wednesday is on the cards.
