Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.
Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.
It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.
Another added: 'I look forward to trying these! Love the M&S loaded dips so let's see how the Aldi ones compare! Enjoy.'
A third commented: 'Ooooft!!! NEEEEED to try the caesar dip! M&S DUUUUPE!'
At the same time, someone else beamed: 'Consider me influenced.'
Not only this, but another savvy shopper wrote: 'Thanks for sharing. I'm going to Aldi.'

Sainsbury's 'gorgeous' £24 summer top reminds fans of Damson Madder The retailer has delighted fashion fans with the 'stunning' top that has some saying it resembles another popular brand Fashion lovers said they 'need' the denim look (Image: Sainsbury's Tu) Shoppers say they love a 'gorgeous' £24 top that looks like it could be from Damson Madder. Sainsbury's Tu shoppers heaped praise on the retailer's Denim Gingham Bow Tie Blouse when it was highlighted on TikTok. The trending blouse is available in sizes eight to 26. There's also a £26 Denim Gingham Collared Mini Dress for fans looking for a similar style. For those with their heart set on the blouse, the denim top is available to shop online or in-store. The style boasts a striking gingham print, which could be styled with summer or autumn looks. There's also an attention-grabbing bow, inspired by one of 2025's most popular trends. The product description states: "A modern take on the classic blouse, this piece comes in blue denim with a gingham print throughout - featuring a tie neck collar, button fastening, and long sleeves. It's a staple choice for weekend outings, great styled with neutral camel tones." Sainsbury's adds that the style is 100% cotton and it is machine washable. The style went viral in a post shared by TikTok user @thesoloshopper, which gained over 25,000 views and thousands of likes. The caption said: "Damson Madder [alternative] at TU Sainsburys? TU new in is giving autumn vibes and I am here for it!" Content cannot be displayed without consent Article continues below Fashion fans shared the sentiment. One commenter said: "I looked at that yesterday. Lovely quality too," and @ thesoloshopper agreed: " It really is! They've done well with this one." Another wrote: "Oh wow." Someone else shared: "OMG I LOVE HERRRR." More praise read: "This is stunning," while a keen shopper added: "No stop it!! I simply need it." Yet another positive comment said: "RUNNING TO SAINOS," and a Sainsbury's fan added: "TU clothing always has good stuff!" @ thesoloshopper agreed, saying: "Always!! So much better than a lot of high street shops now." Although the shopper didn't reference a particular Damson Madder style, the Sainsbury's blouse arguably looks similar to something shoppers could find from the sustainable fashion brand. The brand's designs often go viral, featuring details such as colourful prints, oversized collars, and bows, reports the Mirror. Sainsbury's Denim Gingham Bow Tie Blouse (Image: Sainsbury's) For shoppers who aren't familiar with the brand, Damson Madder says quality is central to its design ethos. The website states: "Every Damson Madder piece is crafted to endure, to be worn, loved, and reworn. Our hope is that through considered design and intentional production, our garments become long-standing fixtures in your wardrobe — never destined for landfill, but made to last." Article continues below The beloved brand does offer sales, but the prices are usually higher than those offered by supermarket retailers such as Sainsbury's. For example, Damson Madder's Mari vest top- red gingham costs £42.50 on sale, marked down from £85. Of course, shoppers will have their own preferences. However, for those seeking a denim blouse under £30, the Sainsbury's style might be just the thing. Alternatively, fashion fans could prefer the Denim Gingham Collared Mini Dress. The product description says: "This denim dress is an easy-to-wear piece which adds classic styling to your wardrobe. Designed in a gingham print, it comes in a mini length. Adorned with a collar detail and tie-fastening, finished with buttons at the front."

I live off-grid in a caravan – it might be tiny but it's cheaper than renting & has a double bed, a bath & a log burner
Plus, scroll down to find out more on the costs of living in a caravan PITCH PERFECT I live off-grid in a caravan – it might be tiny but it's cheaper than renting & has a double bed, a bath & a log burner Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A YOUNG woman has opened up on living off-grid in a static caravan. Libby, who runs a business named Herd and Hive, a family-run company in Yorkshire offering natural goat's milk soap, raw honey and beeswax products, recognised that while her home might be small, it's much cheaper than renting. On the land, Libby also has a 'big barn' where she keeps goats, sheep and donkeys. Standing outside her tiny home, Libby said: 'I live fully off-grid in my static caravan so let's show you around.' As well as having a 'lovely little porch' where Libby keeps her 'mucky clothes, shoes and toolboxes,' the caravan also has a kitchen that is 'small but does the job.' Libby then filmed inside her cosy home as she proudly showed off her living room, which has a huge log burner that is used to heat the caravan. 'Back to the other end of the caravan, we have a spare room that we just use for storage and into the bedroom, we've got a little ensuite here with a bath and our bedroom - just enough space for a double bed,' she continued. In a follow-up clip, Libby got candid on why she decided to live off-grid - and claimed that financially it made the most sense. She explained: 'There was one main factor as to why I wanted to live off-grid with my boyfriend Ollie and it was purely financial - I run the business Herd and Hive and I wanted to quit my full-time job, so did Ollie, so that we can run our business. 'There was no way we'd be able to quit our jobs as well as paying all the rent, electric bills, water bills, whatever else that most people pay on a monthly basis - there was no way we could do it as well as paying all those. 'It made perfect financial sense and if we hadn't have done that, if we wouldn't be able to live so cheaply, we wouldn't be able to quit our jobs and grow our business to what it is today.'
