Blackhawks agree to 3-year, entry-level deal with No. 3 overall pick Anton Frondell
The 18-year-old Swedish forward's deal has a $975,000 salary cap hit.
Frondell scored 11 goals and had 14 assists last season over 29 regular-season games for Djurgarden, which played in Sweden's second division. His production was part of the reason the team earned promotion to the top division this year.
Frondell also helped Sweden win the silver medal at the 2025 IIHF World U18 Championship. He scored a goal and had two assists over three games.

Kamloops Blazers Winger Nathan Behm Commits To Arizona State University For The 2026-27 Season
Kamloops Blazers winger Nathan Behm is headed to the NCAA for the 2026-27 season. The 18-year-old announced that he will be headed to Arizona State University after spending one more year in the WHL. Behm has spent his entire career with Kamloops after being drafted 13th overall by the Blazers in the 2022 WHL Draft. Behm is coming off his best year in the WHL. In 59 games, he scored 31 goals while recording 66 points. This past June, Behm was drafted in the third round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, going 66th overall to the Chicago Blackhawks. Arizona State University is already home to a few former WHLers. Former Victoria Royals captain Justin Kipkie is slated to patrol their blue line, while former Lethbridge Hurricanes and Edmonton Oil Kings forward Ty Nash will look to provide some offence. Arizona State University also features former Regina Pats forward Braxton Whitehead and former Moose Jaw Warriors forward Casey Brown. Blackhawks Forward Should Not Be Given Up On
It is fair to say that the 2024-25 season was a tough year for Chicago Blackhawks forward Lukas Reichel. The young winger did not have the breakout season he and the club had hoped for, as he recorded eight goals, 14 assists, 22 points, and a minus-16 rating in 70 games. This was after he had five goals and 16 points in 65 games with the Blackhawks in 2023-24. Overall, with numbers like these, Reichel has yet to become the top-six forward that the Blackhawks expected him to be when they selected him with the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. While this is the case, he should not be given up on yet. Sometimes it can take young players more time than expected to hit their full potential, and this very well could end up being the case for Reichel. At 23 years old, he is still plenty young enough to improve, and it would not be surprising in the slightest if he did in 2025-26 because of it. His skill and offensive upside are what led to him being a first-rounder, and it will be interesting to see if he can break out next season. Where New Blackhawks Should Fit In Lineup It is no secret that it has been a far quieter off-season this year for the Chicago Blackhawks compared to last year.
