Sooraj Pancholi On Why Mother Zarina Wahab Not Divorcing Aditya Pancholi Despite His Extra-Marital Affairs
Sooraj Pancholi opened up about his mother Zarina Wahab's strained relationship with father Aditya Pancholi in a recent interview with Hindi Rush. Sooraj shared his thoughts on why his mother hasn't divorced Aditya Pancholi till now despite his extra-marital affairs are already discussed in public. Sharing about his mother's struggles and "will" to stay in this marriage, Sooraj said he's not in a position to comment on their "arrangement."
What
Sooraj Pancholi called his mother Zarina Wahab a binding factor.
"She holds the entire family together, and she has really been through a lot because of us. I have never, ever seen her break down. She has never complained about anything," said Sooraj to Hindi Rush.
Sooraj shared his mother has been working since 16 and she didn't have a strong "backup" which would enable her to walk out of the marriage.
"She has been acting since the age of 16. She almost 65 now. She is self-made. She has four homes of her own. She doesn't come from money. If she wanted to leave, she could have done it long back. Sometimes, women don't leave because they don't have a backup...," said Sooraj.
Sooraj also argued their marriage worked, despite its shares of ups and downs, as his father didn't stop his mother from working.
"My father never stopped her from working. He never questioned her about the work. If she had a route to go back to Hyderabad; she has a home in Bandra also... She has her mother's home in Bandra. She has four sisters, one of them is in America. She has four brothers," added Sooraj.
"She could have left any time, but it's her decision to stay. I am nobody to judge this, its an understanding between them and I am in no position to comment on their arrangement," concluded the Kesari Veer actor.

Zarina married Aditya in 1986. She met actor Aditya Pancholi on the sets of Kalank Ka Tika. Anand Mahindra shares little-known fact about Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's 'Om Shanti Om': 'Fire scene shot at actual fire-ravaged site in Mumbai'
Anand Mahindra revealed that Om Shanti Om's iconic fire sequence, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, was filmed at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills, a location with a fiery past. Action director Sham Kaushal shared that the scene used real flames, making the shoot extremely stressful and dangerous for the cast and crew. The film marked Deepika Padukone's debut. Almost 17 years after Om Shanti Om lit up the big screen, a fascinating behind-the-scenes detail about its iconic fire sequence has come to light. Anand Mahindra recently revealed that the dramatic scene — where Shah Rukh Khan 's Om risks his life to save Deepika Padukone 's Shantipriya — was filmed at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills, a location with its own fiery past and eerie reputation. Connection between film and location At the event, Mahindra revealed that the location held a special connection to Om Shanti Om. He noted that Shah Rukh Khan chose to film the fire sequence at Mukesh Mills, possibly inspired by its own history — the site had once been destroyed in a fire, mirroring the film's storyline of flames and reincarnation. He also pointed out that Shah Rukh had ridden a luxury bike in his 1994 hit Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, adding that the actor has a fondness for the brand — making the motorcycle's launch at Mukesh Mills all the more fitting. No VFX, only real flames In an earlier interview with Hindi Rush, action director Sham Kaushal revealed that no VFX was used for the scene at the time — the fire was real. The set housed SRK, Deepika, three cameramen, and about 60 crew members from his team, making it nearly 100 people inside a burning set. An extremely stressful shoot He further shared that the shoot was extremely stressful, as the fire had to be extinguished within seconds of being lit to avoid any mishap. A single mistake could have led to disaster. Kaushal admitted there were moments when he stepped aside to cry on set, feeling so overwhelmed that he feared he might suffer a heart attack. Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan , released in 2007 and marked Deepika Padukone's acting debut. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, the film also starred Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal, and Kirron Kher in key roles.

Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om fire scene was shot at a location that was ‘destroyed' in fire itself, reveals Anand Mahindra
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's Om Shanti Om remains a fan favourite, even nearly two decades after its release. A scene in which Om tries to save Shantipriya from being engulfed by flames on set was shot at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills. The mill has a spooky reputation, with several film industry perosnalities recalling stories. The chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, Anand Mahindra, Anupam Thareja and Boman Rustomji Irani. recently graced the stage for the launch of new 2025 Yezdi Roadster motorcycle at the Mukesh Mills. At the event, Anand Mahindra said. 'What I love about this is… I think most of you know that this was very intricately linked to Om Shanti Om. This is where Shah Rukh chose to film it. And there was very good reason, maybe even he was inspired by the history of this plot which suffered a fire and was destroyed, and that was a part of the plot. So, the plot of Om Shanti Om in fact involved fire and reincarnation,' he said. He also recalled that the superstar even used the Yezdi in his 1994 hit film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. 'And frankly, that's exactly what we are here to do. I am sure Shah Rukh is going to be happy because he used the Yezdi in one of his earliest films Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. He really likes this brand,' Anand added. 'No VFX was used around that time, so we had to light the fire on that set. It had Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, three camerapersons, and around 60 members of my unit inside the set. So, there were a total of 100 people inside the set that was on fire,' he shared in Punjabi. He added, 'I was immensely stressed out during that shoot, I don't know how to explain it because one had to be careful. One had to make sure to put off the fire within seconds of lighting it. If someone commits a mistake anywhere, it could end on a disastrous note. I swear by God, there were so many times I'd go to the side and start crying on set. I felt I'd have a heart attack.' Om Shanti Om was directed by Farah Khan and hit the big screens in 2007. The movie also marked the acting debut of Deepika Padukone. Besides Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, the film also featured Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal, and Kirron Kher in pivotal roles.

Exclusive: How Hema Malini And Dharmendra's Love Story Helped Make Sholay A Cult Classic
New Delhi: Sholay is all set to complete 50 years this August 15, 2025. It is a milestone indeed in Hindi Cinema, for a film which was initially declared a flop. From an iconic villain like Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan) to the timless friendship of Jai and Veeru (Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra), the boisterous Basanti (Hema Malini) and the righteous jailer Thakur Baldev Singh (Sanjeev Kumar), each character added gravitas to the entirety of the film whcih eventually found an audience and went on to becoming a cult classic. In celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary, Hema Malini spoke to NDTV about how her real-life romance with Dharmendra made their onscreen chemistry sparkle all the more. What's Happening Sholay's Basanti is, to date, one of Hema Malini's most iconic onscreen characters. Her character eventually falls in love with Veeru (Dharmendra), and they were very much in love in real life too. Hema Malini smiles and shares, "He was very fond of me as I was of him. We had a lovely relationship because we had worked on so many movies together. We shared so much with each other - sometimes they were problems, sometimes it was happiness. Eventually, friendship led to love, maybe that's what was reflected on the big screen too, in the film." She adds, "It's natural, isn't it? A lovely friendship ultimately leads to love and care for each other." Hema Malini On Her First Scene Shot In Sholay With Dharmendra In an exclusive conversation with NDTV earlier, Hema Malini recalled her fond memories of shooting the iconic Mandir scene with Dharmendra. Coincidentally, it was the first scene she had shot for the film. She shared, "The Mandir scene was the first scene I shot. It was a lot of fun. So innocently, Basanti was accepting everything and answering back to Lord Shiva. Everything was very different. Shooting happened outdoors in hot summers; I don't think we shot anything indoors. Even Ramanagara in Karnataka, where the climax scene happens, is as it was. They have not built anything there." About Sholay Crafted by Salim-Javed, the plot revolves around two notorious criminals, Jai and Veeru (Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra), who are hired by a former jailer, Thakur Baldev Singh (Sanjeev Kumar), as he seeks vengeance to bring down the vile bandit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). In A Nutshell Hema Malini spoke about how the love and affection she shared with Dharmendra off-screen reflected on the big screen as they romanced in Sholay. She also spoke about how beautiful the friendship was that eventually led to becoming a love story.
