Rajasthan public service body to have 10 members; early promotions facilitated
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said here after the Cabinet meeting that the creation of three more posts in the RPSC would enhance its efficiency and ensure a 'smooth and effective' functioning. The RPSC (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1974, will be amended for the purpose.
The demand for reconstituting the RPSC has been raised several times and questions have been raised on its credibility following the continuous incidents of paper leaks in the recruitment exams. The Bharatiya Janata Party government has recently appointed former Director General of Police Utkal Ranjan Sahoo as the Commission's chairperson.
Mr. Patel said the State Cabinet had decided to give relaxation of two years in the desired experience or service period for giving promotions to the government employees in 2025-26. 'The relaxation will be given to the personnel who have not claimed it during the last two years, but no employee will be eligible [for it] during the probation period,' he said.
Mr. Patel was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa and Food & Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara at the press conference. The three Ministers announced several decisions of the Cabinet pertaining to new policies in different sectors, evolving Rajasthan as a global medical tourism hub, career advancement scheme for university teachers, and attracting investments to the energy sector.
The State Cabinet approved the draft medical value travel policy, which would help establish the State as an 'accessible, cost-effective and reliable' destination. Mr. Patel said the policy would promote economic growth, employment generation, and global branding by integrating the health and tourism sectors.
The new township policy, the city gas distribution policy and a proposal to establish three joint venture companies in the energy sector were approved at the Cabinet meeting. Mr. Patel said an amendment in the integrated clean energy policy-2024, approved by the Cabinet, would enable the investors to get the land for their projects, for which they signed MoUs in the Rising Rajasthan global investment summit, on easy terms.

Kazipet unit on track to roll out export-ready train sets by 2026
HANAMKONDA : Rail engines, wagons, and coaches will be manufactured at the upcoming Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit, which is expected to commence operations in 2026. Kishan said that over 3,000 people will get employment through the manufacturing unit, which will benefit many families in Telangana.

Polluting industries within Hyderabad ORR to be relocated beyond city limits: Dy CM
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to expedite the relocation of all polluting industries currently operating within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to areas beyond it. On Saturday, the minister chaired a Cabinet subcommittee meeting on revenue resource mobilisation at the Secretariat. Ministers and committee members N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and Jupally Krishna Rao were present. The committee instructed officials to formulate clear guidelines and a relocation calendar, including a final deadline for shifting the industries. It also reviewed the status of housing units under various stages of the Rajiv Swagruha Scheme and vacant plots under the Housing Board. Officials were directed to ensure that the ongoing public auction process by the Housing Board is conducted transparently. The committee emphasised that the Housing Board must prioritise affordable housing for the common people and the middle class. Reports on revenue growth achieved in the past month were also presented. The Commercial Taxes department reported a 1.8% increase, the Stamps and Registrations department recorded a 3.6% rise, and the Mines department reported a 7% growth in revenue. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary of Finance Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Special Chief Secretary of Industries Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary of Mines Sridhar, MAUD Secretary Ilambarthi, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz, Mines Commissioner Shashank, District Collectors Harichandan and Narayana Reddy, and TGTDC MD Valluru Kranti were among those present at the meeting.

Expert panel submits report on caste-wise backwardness to Telangana CM
HYDERABAD: The Independent Expert Working Group (IEWG), led by Justice B Sudarshan Reddy and constituted by the Telangana government, on Saturday submitted its report on the state's Social, Educational, Economic, Employment, Political and Caste (SEEEPC) survey to Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy. The 300-page report includes a caste-wise ranking and scoring system based on a Composite Backwardness Index (CBI), aimed at assessing the relative backwardness of various social groups in the state. Speaking to members of the group, the chief minister said the data collected through the SEEEPC survey served as a comprehensive assessment of Telangana's social structure. He stated that the caste census was conducted as promised by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and would be instrumental in advancing social justice and targeting welfare schemes to disadvantaged groups. Revanth said the state had asked the expert committee to examine disparities between urban and rural areas and identify community-specific needs. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said thesurvey's findings would help direct resources towards those in need. He noted that the analysis was conducted by an indepen ent panel of intellectuals, se-lected for their experience and objectivity "The committee consists of distinguished individuals known for their integrity," he said. Vikramarka added that the state Cabinet was involved in preparing for the survey by developing questionnaires, over-seeing enumeration and setting up block-level teams. When the survey was presented in the Assembly, several queries were raised, but no fundamental flaws were identified, he said. The deputy chief minister also explained that following the availability of caste census data, the government formed a high-level committee that included Justice Sudarshan Reddy, Prof Kancha Ilaiah, Praveen Chakravarty and Sukhadeo Thorat to recommend future action. "The panel worked with a sense of duty, irrespective of caste background. Even though there are many people from the Reddy community-Justice Sudarshan Reddy, CM Revanth Reddy, and Caste Census Com-mittee Chairman Uttam Kumar Reddy there was no bias," Vikramarka said.
