The Indian Army is all set to host a Grand Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Tenga Valley Military Station in Arunachal Pradesh to celebrate the valour, dedication, and sacrifices of Veterans and Veer Naris from Arunachal Pradesh, including Tawang, Kameng, and Itanagar, as per a release.The event will be graced by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM, as the Chief Guest.Joining him will be Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Gajraj Corps, Major General KS Grewal, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Ball of Fire Division, alongside senior military officers, civil dignitaries, and representatives from State Government, welfare organisations, and resettlement agencies.The rally will offer practical support through dedicated help desks, where the Army and State Government will assist with pensions, healthcare, and resettlement queries. A fully equipped medical camp will provide free health check-ups and consultations.Veterans and their families will be able to explore opportunities at stalls hosted by organisations such as the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO), Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and the Arunachal Pradesh Resettlement Department.Adding to the occasion, students will perform cultural programmes to express gratitude and honour the Veterans.This Rally reflects the Indian Army's steadfast commitment to the welfare of its veterans and their families, strengthening the enduring bond with its former soldiers and reaffirming its dedication to their well-being.Meanwhile, the Indian Army paid tribute to the families of bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation on the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas.According to a release, the Indian Army officers visited Capt Vijayant Thapar's home in Noida, Uttar Pradesh and honoured his father, Col (Retd) V N Thapar and his mother by presenting them with a commemorative memento.The visit evoked deep emotions and immense pride among the family members. Every face glowed with honour, and the atmosphere resounded with patriotic chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".

Her sudden death in the devastating incident has left the entire village in shock and mourning. The family is in shock. However, Anju Sharma's parents were initially not informed about their daughter's death. Notably, the Sharma's family had been living in Vadodara for many years. On Thursday, Anju was on her way to London to visit her elder daughter. Anju's father, Jagdish, a retired Indian Army officer, is bedridden due to a brain haemorrhage, while her mother suffers from a heart condition. Currently, her uncle, sister, and brother-in-law are meeting people who are coming to offer their condolences. DNA of Anju Sharma's younger daughter was taken in Vadodara and has matched. Anju's brother-in-law said he chose not to inform her parents immediately to avoid shocking them. 'But now, everything is over," he added. The family remembers Anju Sharma as a cheerful and warm-hearted person who held everyone together. Her sudden demise has left them all in deep shock. After boarding the flight, Anju Sharma made a video call to her sister, Neelu Sharma, through a WhatsApp group she had created for the entire family. Sadly, Neelu couldn't answer the call—a moment she says she will regret for the rest of her life. Anju, the eldest of eight sisters, was deeply loved by her family. The relatives are now preparing to travel to Vadodara for her last rites. Anju Sharma had posted the popular song ' Aadmi Ek Khilona Hai ' as her last WhatsApp status. A resident of Ramsaran Majra village in Ladwa, Kurukshetra district, she had come to her maternal home on May 26. On Thursday, Anju was flying to London on an Air India flight to visit her daughter, Nimmi Sharma. As soon as the family received news of the crash, they left for Ahmedabad. Uncle Balkishan Sharma, in tears, said, 'She was the son of the family, not a daughter. She managed everything." He added that several family members were unwell, so they hadn't been told immediately. 'Even I was informed about Anju's death after a long time," he said. Younger sister Neelu Sharma, grief-stricken, said, 'It feels like we've lost our mother. We can't tell our parents — they may not survive the shock. We are eight sisters, and she had been living in Gujarat for the past 30 years. She called from the flight for the last time, and I couldn't even see her face." 'She was the pillar of our family," Neelu added, 'the son of the house." New Delhi: Just nine minutes at 1.38 pm yesterday pushed hundreds of families into despair as the London-bound Air India Dreamliner from Ahmedabad crashed into a hostel minutes after takeoff. Of the 242 people on board - passengers and crew - only one survived. Tragedy visited the families of the rest and at least one case - an entire family was wiped out. This was the family of the doctor couple, who were about to begin a new life in London with their three children. Dr Koni Vyas, a pathologist working at a private hospital in Banswara, Rajasthan, had resigned from her post last month to join her husband Pratik Joshi, a London-based doctor, with their three children -- five-year-old twin boys Pradyut and Nakul and eight-year-old daughter Miraya. Before the flight took off, the family took a selfie. Minutes later, they were no more. The selfie is now being widely circulated on social media, bringing home the stark tragedy. Her children were waiting in London Rupal Ben Patel was living in London with her husband and three children for the last 15 years. She had come to India for medical treatment and was staying at her maternal home in Gujarat's Uttarsanda -- Kheda district - for 10 days. She had undergone an operation and after her health improved, was about to join her family in London. Her brother and sister-in-law had come to see her off at Ahmedabad airport. They got the horrific news after they reached home. A Village In Mourning Anju Sharma, a resident of Gujarat's Vadodara, was going to London to meet her elder daughter. Her entire village is now mourning her. Her elderly parents have not been informed about the crash yet. Her father Jagdish Sharma, who is retired from the Indian Army, is bedridden due to brain haemorrhage and her mother has been ill for a long time. The family fears that they would not be able to survive the shock of Anju's death. Talking to reporters, Anju's uncle Balkishan Sharma was unable to hold back tears. Anju was a cheerful person and kept the family together, he said. Anju's sister Nilu Sharma is heartbroken. Anju had made a video call to her after boarding the flight, but she could not take it. Giving Papa a birthday surprise Deepanshi Bhadoria, a medical student in the UK, had come to India a month ago to surprise her father on his birthday. A resident of Gujarat's Gandhinagar, she was returning to London on Thursday. Deepanshi's father is working with the Central Bureau of Investigation. The family which was very happy to unexpectedly see their daughter, is now deep in mourning. She Came Back To Settle in India Ranjita Gopakumar, a 39-year-old nurse from Kerala, had come from the UK four days ago to complete formalities for a government job. Wishing to give her children and elderly mother a safer and more stable life, she was contemplating a return to India. She had returned to her village -- Pullad in South Kerala -- to finalise plans for a new house. Once done, she was returning to the UK to complete some formalities before settling in India. "She was very happy and hopeful. She had a lot of plans. She had a lot of dreams," said her close relative. Wedding Plans Turns To Ashes Kinal Mistry worked in London and had met with an accident while in India. It needed long-term treatment but had to go to London to keep her work permit. Sharing a last video of his daughter at the airport, her father Suresh Mistry said Kinal was about to be married. The marriage had been registered and the family from Gujarat's Anand had planned a grand celebration. But instead of making preparations, Mr Mistry now has given DNA samples that would help identify her body. Desolately, he turns again to the video, where Kinal is seen going inside the airport and waving to the family.

Ahmedabad air crash: Army's Southern Command mobilises troops for rescue operations
West Pune, June 12 (UNI) In the immediate aftermath of the air crash near Ahmedabad on Thursday, troops of the Indian Army from Ahmedabad Cantonment, under the aegis of Southern Command, were mobilised within minutes to respond to the emergency. Demonstrating urgency and commitment, the troops effected a breach in a section of the cantonment boundary wall to facilitate swift ingress to the crash site. Rescue operations were promptly launched in close coordination with the civil administration, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and other first responders. All ranks operated shoulder to shoulder, showcasing exemplary jointmanship, unyielding resolve, and a steadfast mission-first ethos that defines the spirit of the Indian Army. The Indian Army reaffirms its commitment to extending all possible assistance during national emergencies and calamities, said Southern Command Pune in a press statement.
