Iulia Vantur Says Salman Khan Told Her ‘To Act Less' As She Makes Her Acting Debut: 'He Said...'
Iulia Vantur reveals Salman Khan's advice on acting—'do less'—as she debuts in Echoes Of Us. She stars in Deepak Tijori's short film about restraint and realism.
Iulia Vantur, known to many as a singer and television personality, is now stepping into the world of acting with her debut in Deepak Tijori's short film Echoes Of Us. As the film gears up for release, Iulia and Deepak recently sat down for a candid chat on Varinder Chawla's YouTube channel, where they reflected on the project, industry experiences, and a certain superstar's advice.
When asked how she came on board the project, Deepak admitted that he wasn't sure if Iulia would agree to do the film. Iulia, however, dismissed the hesitation with grace. 'I mean, it was a great script, and it was an honour working with you (Deepak); why would I say no?" she replied with a smile.
The conversation then shifted to Salman Khan, who has been frequently linked with Iulia and had publicly supported Echoes Of Us on social media. When asked whether she ever seeks acting advice from Salman, Iulia laughed and quipped, 'I think he would tell me to act less. He would tell me to not do much and that less is better."
Deepak chimed in, agreeing with Salman's minimalist approach. 'Yes, that is something Bhatt sahab (Mahesh Bhatt) also teaches you. I think Salman also comes from the school of acting. Not acting is the most difficult part of acting. Knowing when you are going overboard is the best part of the skill."
During the interview, Deepak also opened up about the more difficult phases of his own career. He spoke about being typecast and how trying to help others in the industry sometimes backfired. 'This is what our industry does; it typecasts you, and I fell in that trap. Bhatt Sahab tried to break that trap for me, but his brother Mukesh told him that 'you cannot make a film with Deepak as the lead.' It was a commercial decision, so I don't think I hold anything against him."
Deepak also revisited a major 'what if" moment in his career — when he almost landed the role of Prem in Maine Pyar Kiya. He revealed that it ultimately came down to him and Salman Khan, with Sooraj Barjatya making the final call.
'He told me that I had performed very well, but since it was a love story, they went ahead with Salman. And I agreed with him. When he told me that women will immediately fall in love with Salman given his looks, I also accepted. I told him, 'Sir, I am hurt, but at the same time, you are right.' I was mature enough and never felt that he wronged me, I felt it was justified, so I said okay and walked back," Deepak said in an earlier interview with Bollywood Bubble.
As Iulia Vantur embarks on a new journey in front of the camera, she carries with her a grounded perspective, sage advice from Salman, and the backing of a director who sees her potential. Echoes Of Us might just mark the beginning of a compelling new chapter in her career.

Joon Park Birthday Special: G.O.D Leader's K-Pop Journey, Legacy And Career Highlights
Last Updated: Joon Park turns 56. From leading g.o.d to Hollywood and YouTube, explore the K-pop icon's early life, career journey, and legacy in the world of Korean entertainment. Joon Park Hyung, aka Joon Park, is a South Korea-born American singer and actor. With a career spanning over two decades, he is best known for his stint as the leader and rapper of the Korean pop group g.o.d (Groove Over Dose), which was popular back in the 2000s. On the occasion of his 56th birthday today, let's have a look at his early life, journey in the industry, career highlights and legacy in K-pop. Joon Park: Early and Personal Life Joon Park was born on July 20, 1969, in Seoul, South Korea. Shortly after his birth, his family, including his parents and two siblings, moved to the US. He was raised in Los Angeles. After completing his schooling in California, he enrolled at California State University, Long Beach, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. He worked as a graphic designer before entering the industry. View this post on Instagram A post shared by 박준형 god Joon Park (@godjp) In 2014, it was confirmed that he was dating a flight attendant who was 13 years his junior. A year later, he got married to her in a private ceremony in Seoul. The couple welcomed their daughter in 2017. Joon Park: Journey In The Industry In 1997, Joon Park moved back to South Korea to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He joined an agency and began recruiting members for a group that would create music taking influences from both Korea and the West. The group faced numerous hurdles prior to their debut, including the country's economic crisis in 1997. The group, initially a mixed-gender group named GOT7, roped in Park Jin Young, also known as JYP, as their mentor and producer. Following the departure of one of the members, the five-membered group debuted as g.o.d. In 1999. They released their debut album, titled Chapter 1, in January of that year. The group first appeared on television performing the track To Mother, partly based on Joon's childhood, where he was raised by his widowed mother. Just two years after their debut, the group was on the verge of disbanding due to a dating scandal involving Park Joon. After much backlash, their agency decided otherwise. In 2005, Joon left the group and decided to pursue a career in acting in the US. The boy band did not disband, but announced an indefinite break. He made his acting debut in Hollywood with a cameo in the 2008 sports drama Speed Racer. Joon Park has appeared in several K-dramas and has been featured on various Korean reality TV shows. In 2014, he returned to South Korea for g.o.d's 15th anniversary. He re-signed with the agency SidusHQ. They released the album, Chapter 8, after a nearly decade-long hiatus. Joon Park: Career Highlights Joon Park served as the leader of the K-pop group g.o.d. He has acted in the 2009 film Dragonball Evolution, directed by James Wong. The actor and singer has been a cast member in reality shows like Roommate, TMI News, and I Can See Your Voice, among others. He has also hosted shows like Other World Used Cars-Gear GODs, and Live Well, Fun Equipment. Joon Park has a YouTube channel named Wassup Man. Joon Park: Legacy In K-Pop Joon Park, along with his group g.o.d, is considered one of the pioneers of K-pop. Back in the early 2000s, they were South Korea's bestselling artists. Comprising Joon Park, Danny Ahn, Son Ho Young, Kim Tae Woo and Yoon Kye Sang, the group came to be known for their mix of R&B, rap, hip-hop, funk, and Korean-style ballads. At a time when English lyrics were used in Korean songs, they opted to sing and rap entirely in their native language. They were even the first to have their own reality show: g.o.d's Babysitting Diaries. g.o.d also became the first K-pop act to earn the nickname 'the nation's group" due to their humble nature, powerful vocals and relatable lyrics. view comments First Published: July 20, 2025, 16:29 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
