Serena Williams fans scream she's 'too thin' in racy bikini snaps from steamy yacht shoot

Daily Mail2 days ago
Serena Williams had fans divided with her latest Instagram drop — a sultry set of bikini snaps taken during a luxe yacht getaway.
The 43-year-old tennis icon, who recently flaunted her toned figure in mirror selfies, turned up the heat on Thursday as she showed off her post-retirement glow-up.
In one sizzling snap, the Wimbledon champ struck a high-fashion pose with her arm raised, flaunting her abs and sculpted curves like a seasoned swimsuit model.
Another photo showed her perched on the edge of the boat in a sheer sarong and bikini top, with a postcard-worthy ocean behind her.
'Me and my girls… are out in the streets tonight. But we starting here,' Serena captioned the carousel, which included a peek at her group of glam yacht companions.
But while plenty praised her latest look, others were quick to sound off — accusing the superstar of changing her figure too drastically.
'She's too thin… why?' one critic asked, sparking a heated back-and-forth in the comments.
As the debate raged on, some fans defended the star's new look while others said they barely recognized her.
One fan chimed in, 'She's definitely not thick anymore.'
Someone else added, 'They don't know that she was even thinner from 1998-2007.'
Of course, many rushed to staunchly defend the superstar.
'I dunno what ppl talking about she still thick and healthy let her live,' wrote one.
A different commenter posted, 'She's not too thin, her body looks like how it looked around 2013-2014.'
A fierce defender fired back, writing, 'They just want to trash Serena all the time. She too thick, she too muscular, she too slim, her husband white, she bleaching her skin.
'When they see she still dark they realize it was just makeup and lighting why she looked light, they ain't have sh** to say. One thing though, Serena is living her life.'
One more agreed, sharing, 'Serena could care less about her haters. If she didn't look so good, she wouldn't have any haters. Serena and her mom and sister look fabulous!'
Amid all the buzz over her latest look, it's a reminder of just how much Serena's tennis legacy continues to dominate headlines—both on and off the court.
The icon last claimed a Grand Slam title in 2017, winning the Australian Open, though she fell short in the US Open and Wimbledon finals twice more after that.
Over her illustrious career, Serena has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles — the most by any player in the Open Era — and spent 319 weeks as world No. 1.
Her most recent match came at the 2022 US Open, where she battled Ajla Tomljanovic in a grueling three-hour, three-set thriller before coming up short.
Off the court, Serena balances her business ventures and philanthropy with family life alongside husband Alexis Ohanian and their two daughters.
She married Reddit co-founder Alexis on November 16, 2017, in a star-studded ceremony in New Orleans
But while plenty praised her latest look, others were quick to sound off — accusing the superstar of changing her figure too drastically
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (known as Olympia), in September 2017.
They expanded their family five years later when Serena gave birth to their younger daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.
Meanwhile, Serena's older sister Venus shows no signs of slowing down — the seven-time Slam champ recently secured a wild card to compete in the DC Open at age 45.
Venus, who hasn't played a tour-level match since March 2024, is proving age is just a number.

Outlander's Lauren Lyle returns as Karen Pirie for series two of ITV drama

Outlander star Lauren Lyle returns to her role as Karen Pirie in the hit ITV drama for season two - here's an insight into her life off screen. Lauren Lyle first won over audiences as Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in the popular time-travel drama Outlander. Since then, her career has continued to grow from strength to strength. Most recently, she secured a leading role in ITV's crime drama Karen Pirie, with the second season premiering tonight. ‌ It was one of the surprise TV hits of 2022, and now Karen Pirie is making its comeback on Sunday evening. Outlander star Lauren returns as the lead detective, once again diving into decades-old cold cases in the highly anticipated second season. ‌ Based on Val McDermid's novels, Karen Pirie won over viewers with its gripping storytelling and unique take on the detective genre. Lauren's portrayal of the lead character was widely praised, earning her two BAFTA Scotland awards. ‌ Unlike many typical detectives on TV, Pirie is portrayed as approachable, witty and fun-loving with a touch of sarcasm. Lauren has admitted that carrying the weight of leading her own show was "overwhelming" at times, but she's keen to see how audiences respond to the new season. Much different to the character she portrays on-screen, off-screen Lauren likes to keep a low profile. Only occasionally keeping her fans up to date on her life via her Instagram account - which has over 225,000 followers - showing behind the scenes photos from her career and travels. ‌ Let's take a closer look into the life of Lauren Lyle, as she returns to her role as Karen Pirie. Early life Lauren was born on July 12, 1993, in the south side of Glasgow, where her family still lives today. Though she keeps her personal life mostly under wraps, fans know that acting wasn't always the career she expected to take. ‌ Initially involved with the Scottish Young Conservatives, Lauren made a bold decision to switch paths and pursue acting. Her early performances included an impress performance the Edinburgh Fringe for Fourth Monkey and a role in The Crucible on the London stage. Her talent earned her a spot in the highly competitive National Youth Theatre's rep programme in 2015 - a programme that selects only around 15 actors under the age of 25 to perform a season of plays in London's West End. During this time, Lyle starred in productions such as Wuthering Heights, Consensual, and The Merchant of Venice. Outlander ‌ Lyle was cast as Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in Outlander, the TV series based on the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon, back in 2017. Her character appeared in the show in the third season. Speaking to Glasgow Times about her role, she said: "Outlander changed my life. I don't think I realised going into Outlander how big a deal it was. How big a show, how popular it is and how dedicated the fanbase are." It has now been confirmed that Lauren will be back for the 8th and final season of Outlander, reprising her role as Marsali, alongside her on-screen husband Fergus Fraser, played by Cesar Domboy. ‌ Dating life As with many rising stars, Lauren's personal life has sparked curiosity among fans, particularly since her breakout role in Outlander in 2017. Rumours of a romantic relationship between Lyle and her on-screen husband Cesar Domboy (Fergus Fraser) have been speculated by fans for years due to their on-screen chemistry. Additionally, the pair are close off screen as they spend a lot of time together outside of work. During a previous Starz interview, both actors shared that they enjoy exploring Glasgow together on their days off. However neither Lauren or Cesar have confirmed anything publicly, with Lauren often keeping that side of her life extremely private.

Hosted by Maya Jama, it will air at 10pm - after the main show concludes. Harrison, 22, previously surprised fans by failing to follow Lauren, 26, on Instagram. Although the pair slept together during their time on the show, Harrison is not yet following Lauren, despite her already following him. While the footballer returned to the UK recently and is believed to have his phone back, he may not have full control of his social media accounts yet. The unexpected 'snub' has led to speculation about the status of their relationship after the show. Harrison previously insisted he does not regret having sex in the villa – but hopes his parents weren't watching. The sportsman decided to leave the show on Thursday after being involved in a dramatic love triangle with Lauren Wood and Toni Laites. Viewers were shocked when he was seen making a plea to re-couple with Las Vegas cabana server Toni, despite bedding Lauren the night before. But Harrison, from Burton upon Trent but now based in Miami, said he has no regrets about taking things to the next level on TV. 'What is that-' ask baffled fans after Love Island's Lauren confronts Harrison over love triangle with Toni Asked how he felt about his mum and dad knowing what he had done, he said: 'I hope they didn't see. But listen, it was a natural thing. 'I don't think I intended to have sex in the villa, but in there all the Islanders could tell we were so attracted to each other. Naturally, it was going to happen. 'The spark between us was crazy. I probably wasn't thinking about my parents and them watching it, but it naturally happened and I don't regret it.' Lauren, who works as a dog walker in York, was booted from the villa on Wednesday night. She begged Harrison to follow and, 24 hours later, he made the choice to go. Tonight, fans of the series will see the pair reunite on the spin-off show, Aftersun. Speaking about Lauren, Harrison said: 'We will make the distance work. It will be no issue. 'We left on good terms, but the two days prior to leaving, we weren't talking properly. 'So it would be good to have a conversation, get everything out in the open and hopefully we move forward from there. 'I feel very strongly about the girl. 'I wouldn't have left if I didn't. 'I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be my girlfriend one day. I'm buzzing to see her and reunite. She's such a great girl.' Meanwhile, Harrison said he would be 'mortified' if someone treated his sister the way he acted towards Toni. He revealed: 'I'd like to think we could be friends. I did her wrong a few times in there, so I understand if she doesn't want to reciprocate that. 'The conversation prior to me leaving was a big moment for me and her. I reflected on my whole situation throughout the day, I just let it out. 'You could tell by me getting emotional, I was upset about how I've acted and upset about Toni being upset as well. 'Similarly, if someone treated my sister like I'd treated Toni in there, obviously I'd be mortified. 'I wanted to apologise to her and I think she could see I was being genuine. 'I'm happy with how things were left.' Aside from Toni and Lauren, Harrison also explored connections with air hostess Helena Ford and Shakira Khan in the villa. Harrison said: 'Normally, I say I live life with no regrets. 'But the way I went about certain situations, I definitely would have handled it differently on reflection. 'Should have been more honest' 'I feel like I would've taken myself away from the situation for a day or two and just really figured out what I wanted. 'I would've had those awkward conversations just to let people know where my head was at. I do shy away from those conversations on the outside. 'Especially here, I should have been more honest. 'It was for the greater good, and it would have stopped people's feelings from getting hurt. 'People were hurt more by me being so indecisive and trying to avoid awkward conversations. 'I definitely would have gone about handling triangles in another way.' 5 They left the villa together in Thursday's episode Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 5 The pair slept together during their time on the show Credit: ITV
