Margaret Qualley reveals how she struggled on her own before meeting husband Jack Antonoff
The 30-year-old explained that she was 'a late bloomer' and turned to magazines to read about sex which took away the 'shame and embarrassment' surrounding it.
The actress, who is the daughter of model Andie MacDowell, also debunked claims of nepotism as she revealed she 'lived out of a suitcase, without any furniture' when she was just 16 until she became financially independent.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan, as she posed for sizzling photos, the Maid star said that she always 'felt really lonely' before meeting singer Jack in 2020.
She said: 'Jack makes me feel safe and comfortable. I spent so many years trying to be someone's perfect girl, and that girl changed over and over. But I can't lie to Jack—he'd see through it.
'So I just have to be myself. He's been the person I've pictured my whole life. And I'm not even saying that metaphorically. My first crush was Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore, and I've been looking for that essence my whole life. I'm like, "That's Jack".'
The actress married Jack in August 2023, in a star-studded affair in New Jersey, where the bride wore a Chanel halter-neck gown, of course, Mary Jane shoes, and her dark locks was styled in a short bob.
The celebrity guest list included such A-listers as Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey, Zoe Kravitiz, Cara Delevingne, Alex Wolff and, of course, Andie MacDowell.
Margaret has followed in her famous mother's footsteps as she has also been on the September issue of Cosmo, back in 1982.
Speaking of her mom Andie's cover shoot she described it as 'iconic' and it made her 'manifest' wanting to be on the magazine as well.
She said: 'Ever since I was young, Cosmo has been the only magazine I've avidly read. I was reading this way before I'd had sex. It removed shame from sex. I realized that there's a world in which you can have fun and not be so embarrassed about it all.'
Despite having a very famous mum in the industry, Margaret hit back at claims she is a nepo baby as she lived alone in New York 'terrified' from the age of 16.
She said: 'It felt terrifying. I didn't have any friends. I didn't know anyone. If a guy got on the elevator, I would get off. I lived all of my 20s out of a suitcase, without any furniture. I had a mattress on the floor. And I became financially independent by the time I was 18, so I was super frugal, too.'
It comes after Margaret appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler, which she talked her way into because she loves the original film.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress revealed her husband lied to Adam via text to bag her the role.
'I saw that there was an announcement, like, there's going to be a Happy Gilmore 2. And I emailed my agents right away. And I said, "Anything it takes. No part is too small. Please! I got to be a part of this. I beg of you, please, whatever it takes,' she admitted.
Then at some point, Adam texted Jack, asking, 'Does your wife golf at all?' He replied, 'Yeah, she's actually good!'
Adam replied, 'No way,' as the music producer asked, 'We talking 'Gilmore' or charity golf tournament?'
The actor replied, 'Gilmore. might bug her for a couple days, funny thing. She'd be awesome.'
Qualley admitted: 'What a good husband. And I can't golf. He lied for the sake of the family. Yeah.'
As for the sport of golf, she admitted: 'Never golfed a day in my life. I'm terrible, actually.'
She added that she went into a barn to hit some golf balls for the first time and she did take some lessons: 'But mostly I'm still bad.'
When asked about the experience working with Adam, Margaret said: 'He's the best. It was the best thing that's ever happened to me.'
She added that Sandler was her, 'first crush' and the original 1996 comedy classic Happy Gilmore is her, 'favorite movie,' adding Sandler is, 'the greatest of all time.'

Meghan toasts to ‘beautiful day' as she launches new rose wine
The Duchess of Sussex has toasted to a 'beautiful day' to mark the launch of her latest rose wine. Meghan released her As Ever Napa Valley Rose 2024 – described as evoking the same 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish' as the 2023 rose – on Tuesday. It comes after the previous rose, launched last month, sold out within an hour. In a video posted on her Instagram, Meghan can be seen uncorking a bottle marked 'Bottle #1' in front of bouquets of pink and cream flowers – followed by close-up of the cork bearing the As Ever logo. Alongside the clip, she wrote: 'Here we go! First bottle off the line! 'Toasting to a beautiful day: Our Napa rose is live @aseverofficial.' As with the previous wine, the beverage is priced at more than £67 for a minimum three-bottle order – and only appeared to be available for US customers to buy, with shipping addresses limited to America. As Ever is Meghan's lifestyle brand which also sells cookie mix, herb tea, flower sprinkles and jams. A post on the company's Instagram show the corks branded with the As Ever logo, with a caption reading: 'C'est l'heure. 'Enjoy your last sips of summer with the newest vintage of our beloved Napa Valley rose.' The website describes the drink as 'thoughtfully curated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex' and that it has been 'made to be enjoyed with the ones you love'. The pale pink wine, which comes in a clear bottle with a white, gold-rimmed label, has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 13.5% – one percent lower than its predecessor. As with the 2023 rose, the newest wine is not available to buy in orders of less than three bottles. Three bottles cost 90 US dollars (around £67), six bottles cost 159 dollars (around £119) including a 12% discount, and 12 bottles are priced at 300 dollars (around £225) including a 17% discount. Meghan and the Duke of Sussex left the UK and moved to California five years ago for a new life after stepping down from the working monarchy. Napa Valley wine country is in northern California, around 50 miles from San Francisco.
