Guardians add Carlos Hernández to roster and call up prospect C.J. Kayfus from Columbus
To make room for Hernández and Kayfus, left-hander Tim Herrin and outfielder Johnathan Rodríguez were optioned to Columbus.
Kayfus — a third-round pick in by the Guardians in the 2003 MLB Draft — made his major-league debut Saturday, batting eighth and playing right field. The 23-year old Kayfus started the season in Double-A Akron before being promoted to Columbus, where he batted .283 with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs.

The Bears had a chippy practice on Tuesday — and Jonathan Owens was one of the top aggressors. Owens, the husband of seven-time Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles, was involved in one of four skirmishes at Chicago's training camp session Tuesday — and it was perhaps the most fierce of them all. The Bears were in full pads for the session and were running many goal-line sets, which brought out some major physicality.
