
Two XL Bullies euthanised after seriously injuring woman in attack
Officers were called to Invershin near Lairg at around 1.40pm on July 8 after reports of the attack.
The 69-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital for treatment following the incident.
A 76-year-old man was charged and a 51-year-old woman is due to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police Scotland said the owner of the dogs made the decision to put both XL Bullies down.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 1.40pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, we received a report of a woman having been injured by two dogs in Invershin, Lairg.
'Emergency services attended and the 69-year-old woman was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.
'A 76-year-old man has been charged in connection and a 51-year-old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.'

An investigation is underway after an alleged disturbance at a property in Glasgow yesterday evening left a man and a woman injured and saw a suspect arrested. Officers raced to St Vincent Terrace, in the city's Anderston area, following reports of an incident, and a 27-year-old woman was found injured within a property. Police Scotland confirmed that a 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident yesterday, Saturday, July 19, 2025. A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 7.10pm on Saturday, 19 July, 2025, officers were called to a report of a disturbance at an address on St Vincent Terrace, Glasgow. "A 27-year-old woman was found injured within the property, and a 28-year-old man was traced with injuries a short time later in the William Street area. "Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear in court at a later date."

Three women charged under Terrorism Act after van rammed fence of a defence factory in Edinburgh
Three women have been charged under the Terrorism Act after a van was driven into the fence of a defence plant in Edinburgh. The incident happened on Tuesday at the Leonardo facility on Crewe Road North. Police said the women, aged 31, 34 and 42, were initially arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 and have now been formally charged. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday. Police Scotland said its counter-terrorism unit is leading the investigation and that enquiries are ongoing. The force has appealed for information to help trace the movements of two vehicles linked to the was a blue Ford Transit van, which was seen around Gorgie Road on Monday and Tuesday before the other was a white Honda CR-,Z which was found in a car park on Gorgie Road after the incident. Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number 0416 of July Tuesday's incident, a group called Shut Down Leonardo claimed the factory produces laser targeting systems for Israel's F-35 fighter jets. On social media, the group said: 'Scotland has a proud history of direct action, and never before has it been labelled as terrorism.' It urged supporters to 'mobilise from 9.30am at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 21st July and demand they're released.' Leonardo said it does not supply equipment directly to Israel and that its main customer is the UK Armed Forces.
