Napheesa Collier Continues to Star for Minnesota Lynx
As the Minnesota Lynx have been perfect so far this season, a big reason for their success is forward Napheesa Collier. She's been stuffing the stat sheet with impressive numbers as the Lynx are 8-0 in the 2025 WNBA season.

Collier averaged 26.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists throughout the team's 7-0 marcg through May. It's the best start for Minnesota since 2017. For her efforts, Collier was named the WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month, the Lynx announced on Wednesday on their website.
Here's what Collier did against the Seattle Storm back on May 27. She scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out five assists and had five steals. Minnesota dropped Seattle 82-77.
Collier also became the 11th player in WNBA history and first Lynx player to put together statistics that had 15+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 5+ steals in a game.
Napheesa Collier joins elite Lynx company
Here's another stat to check out. Collier led the Lynx in scoring in their first four games this season. That means she joins Maya Moore as the only players in franchise history to start the season with four consecutive 20+ point games.

It's no wonder Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve probably loves seeing Collier, a sixth-year veteran from Connecticut, perform at such a high level. Minnesota usually goes the way Collier goes, meaning her on-court efforts act as a way to pick up her teammates.
As long as Collier is able to put up impressive numbers, don't be surprised if the Lynx are in place to challenge the New York Liberty for the coveted WNBA championship.
Up next for the Lynx will be a Sunday contest against the Dallas Wings. Then, Minnesota goes to Seattle for another matchup with the Storm on June 11.

WNBA star Kelsey Plum admits to ‘bad joke' with Caitlin Clark zinger at All-Star Game
Kelsey Plum won't be quitting her day job to become a comedian. The WNBA star admitted recently that she messed up when she attempted to jokingly zing Caitlin Clark and her 'Team Clark' members for missing a meeting to discuss wearing the viral 'Pay us what you owe us' shirts at the All-Star Game in July. 'Oh, I made a bad joke. I made a really bad joke,' Plum said with a laugh on 'Bird's Eye View' podcast. 'Tough one.' Plum made headlines during this year's All-Star festivities when she made a seemingly random dig at Clark and others. This year's game featured Team Clark, headlined by Clark, versus Team Collier, led by Napheesa Collier and featuring Plum. Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum said she was joking when she took a verbal shot at Caitlin Clark and her team at the All-Star Game last month, comments that drew significant pushback. 'I made a really bad joke,' Plum said on Sue Bird's 'Bird's Eye View' podcast that dropped Friday. Plum said she was trying to have fun with Team Clark at the All-Star Game in Indianapolis on July 19 when she said Clark's side didn't show up for that morning meeting to discuss collective bargaining agreement talks. The union and the WNBA are in the midst of negotiations, and all the players in the All-Star Game wore T-shirts that read, 'Pay Us What You Owe Us,' including Clark. Plum said at the post-game news conference the players decided that morning to wear the shirts, but 'zero members of Team Clark were very present for that.' There was especially a big blowback on social media toward Plum, who said her intention was to bring levity to a serious topic but misread the room. 'I was making a joke they were hungover even though our team nickname was 'Hungover,'' Plum said. 'I was like, 'At least we made it.' Obviously, we were all on the same page. We all wore the shirts. We're all unified. I think if anything I was more discouraged because I felt like (the comments) took away from the moment of what we were trying to do.'
