Abu Dhabi, UAE, March 2025: 42 Abu Dhabi has signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with ADNOC, aimed at empowering the next generation of young talented Emirati coders with real-world experience in energy industry applications.
A key focus of the agreement is to develop industry-focused coding programs for young local talent and the wider community in Abu Dhabi, equipping them with valuable insights into the energy sector. Additional initiatives include industry-themed programming competitions and large-scale hackathons featuring real-world challenges designed to further enhance students' coding and AI skills.
Through this agreement, 42 Abu Dhabi and ADNOC will also collaborate on knowledge-sharing initiatives in line with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.
Dr Ahmed Al Shoaibi, Acting CEO of 42 Abu Dhabi said: 'This agreement with ADNOC reinforces 42 Abu Dhabi's commitment to building a network of industry leaders and empowering our students with practical, industry-relevant skills. We are dedicated to supporting the UAE's digital transformation by cultivating a new generation of coders and innovators who will contribute to essential sectors. ADNOC will further enrich the students' learning experience through mentorship opportunities, industry-specific seminars, workshops, and panel discussions, allowing them to gain invaluable insights into real-world industry dynamics.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates;August 2025: In recognition of the UAE's Year of Community, Al-Futtaim, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Culture, Emirates Foundation and Al Khaleejiya Radio 100.9, and with the support of the UAE Pavilion is proud to launch 'Building Bridges: Voices of the Future', a landmark initiative that will see 50 exceptional Emirati youth represent the UAE at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, while giving them the opportunity to explore the Expo's global showcases, participate in cultural exchange, and engage with innovations shaping the future. This initiative reflects Al-Futtaim's enduring commitment to national development and global engagement. It also underscores the company's legacy of more than 70 years of partnership with Japan, through its representation of 13 leading Japanese brands. The choice of Osaka as the destination is symbolic, reaffirming the deep bilateral relationship and a shared commitment to innovation, collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange. The delegates, aged 21 to 30, were selected through a rigorous, multi-partner process led by Al-Futtaim, the UAE Ministry of Culture, Emirates Foundation, and Al Khaleejiya Radio. Candidates were evaluated based on key criteria such as ambassadorial potential, creativity, cross-cultural awareness, community impact, and leadership capability. As part of the selection, applicants were asked to complete a creative exercise that demonstrated their alignment with the programme's values. Commenting on the initiative, Omar Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Al-Futtaim said: 'This initiative perfectly aligns with our values of empowering individuals and contributing to the prosperity of the nation. The delegates will travel in three cohorts between August and October 2025, taking part in cultural immersions, leadership workshops, and visits to Expo 2025, where they will engage with global peers and innovations. In parallel, and as part of its 70YearsForward campaign, Al-Futtaim has launched a dedicated secondment programme in collaboration with the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. Between July and October, talented young Emirati employees from across the Group are seconded to support the UAE's presence on the ground. e& UAE has deployed the Gulf's first Dual-Band 64T64R MetaAAU, merging 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz bands into one device to reduce equipment size, power use and rollout time. Aug 14, 2025 e& UAE became the first operator in the Gulf region to roll out the Dual-Band 64T64R MetaAAU, a new radio unit that combines two 5G frequencies into a single piece of equipment Installed on a live network, the device halves the equipment needed at mobile sites, reduces power use, and improves indoor coverage and high-traffic area performance. The unit merges the 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz bands, using 384 antenna units - double the capacity of previous setups. Power consumption drops by 35%, with additional savings of 15% during off-peak hours due to automatic sleep features. Unlike older installations requiring separate setups for each band, the MetaAAU reduces equipment size by 60% and cuts rollout time in half.
