Celebrity encounters are often fleeting, but every now and then, one turns unexpectedly emotional—and deeply touching. That's exactly what happened on a recent flight when Sanam Teri Kasam star Harshvardhan Rane met an overwhelmed fan, whose heartfelt reaction and his thoughtful response quickly melted the internet.
The fan, who bore a resemblance to Alia Bhatt, according to several netizens, was visibly emotional upon meeting the actor. Trying to compose herself mid-flight, she admitted, 'I always thought how can people cry for someone, but…' She then shared her special connection to Rane's film Sanam Teri Kasam, recalling how she watched a corrupted CD version during her school years and had only seen half of it for years. 'When I got access to the internet and phone, I finally watched the full movie,' she said.
Rane stood by quietly as she spoke, handing her a tissue and gently touching her forehead while saying, 'God bless you.' The moment was captured in a video he later shared on social media, captioned with appreciation for the 'warmest passenger' he'd met and a shout-out to the crew. The internet erupted with praise. Farah Khan commented, 'Soooo sweet this is harsh.' Others noted the fan's resemblance to Alia Bhatt, while one comment poignantly read, 'The way he touched her head—gentle, reverent… a glimpse of a soul that's healed, a man aligned with something greater.'
Harshvardhan Rane is currently immersed in the shooting of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, co-starring Sonam Bajwa. The romantic drama, which is set for a Dusshera release, has already created buzz with its passionate poster shared on May 27. Rupali Ganguly Lauds PM Modi For Breaking Menstrual Taboos: 'I Feel Very Proud'
Published By : IANS Last Updated: Drawing attention to the importance of accessible sanitary products and menstrual education, Rupali Ganguly emphasized how the PM's efforts have sparked meaningful conversations. Actress Rupali Ganguly has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing menstrual hygiene on national platforms and helping break long-standing taboos surrounding the subject in India. Drawing attention to the importance of accessible sanitary products and menstrual education, Rupali emphasised how the Prime Minister's efforts have sparked meaningful conversations and brought much-needed awareness, especially in rural areas where such topics are often stigmatised or ignored. Speaking to IANS, the 'Anupamaa' actress cited PM Modi's landmark speech from the Red Fort, where he addressed the issue of menstrual health. Highlighting the implementation of affordable sanitary pad distribution and hygiene education, Rupali noted that these measures have had a significant impact on young girls who often drop out of school due to lack of awareness or access to proper menstrual care. She pointed out that while women in urban areas may take sanitary pads for granted, the situation is vastly different in remote parts of India where such essentials are still considered a luxury. The 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' actress shared, 'I feel very proud, because sanitary hygiene, for me as a woman, is not a taboo topic. Modi ji is probably the first leader—world leader—who talked about menstrual hygiene from the Red Fort. And sanitary pads—affordable sanitary pads—reaching every woman, that was a matter of great pride for me. As a woman, I felt proud. There are so many girls who drop out of school because they don't have knowledge about menstrual hygiene. So many girls drop out—some are ashamed, some don't know how to use cloth properly." 'So, giving them sanitary pads it may sound like a small thing, but it is a big thing. We women living in cities take these things for granted. You go and buy a sanitary pad, that's it. But for a rural woman, for a child growing up in the interiors of rural India, having access to sanitary pads is a very, very big deal. Teaching menstrual hygiene in schools is a very big deal. And providing toilets for proper hygiene in schools is a very big deal." Talking about a range of welfare programs, Rupali Ganguly underlined the comprehensive approach the government has taken to empower women from childhood through adulthood. The actress praised the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a savings scheme aimed at securing the future of the girl child, calling it a vital step toward long-term financial empowerment. She also lauded the Ujjwala Yojana, which has provided LPG connections to millions of women across rural India. 'It wasn't just about giving them a gas cylinder—it was about giving them a chance at better health," Ganguly noted, highlighting how the scheme helped women suffering from asthma and other health issues caused by traditional cooking methods. Rupali also appreciated the government's support for women-led start-ups, citing initiatives like Smart Didi Yojana and Drone Didi Yojana as groundbreaking steps. She also emphasised the continued relevance of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, which has helped reshape conversations around girls' education and safety. Turning to sanitation, she underscored the importance of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, one of the Modi government's most widely recognised initiatives. She pointed out that the construction of lakhs of toilets not only improved hygiene but also restored dignity to women who previously lacked access to basic sanitation. Rupali Ganguly also spoke about the long-awaited Women's Reservation Bill, calling it a historic milestone in Indian politics and a significant win for women who have fought for representation in Parliament for decades. India's biggest flop film released 18 years ago, saw debut of 2 star kids, made in Rs 45 crore, earned just Rs..., lead actors were..., movie is... Ranbir Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in the 2007 film Saawariya . The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali also marked the Hindi debut of Sonam Kapoor. While movie brought together an ensemble cast, it failed to become a commercial as well as a critical success. Made in a budget of Rs 45 crore, Saawariya earned a modest Rs 39.22 crore. At the time, the film clashed with Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om , that marked Deepika Padukone's first Bollywood release. Farah Khan's directorial outperformed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama, earning Rs 152 crore worldwide. Moreover, it also surpassed Aditya Chopra's Dhoom 2 at that time. Coming to Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor-starrer Saawariya, the film received mixed to negative reviews when released. While the artistic vision, soundtrack, production, songs and performances were praised, the story and screenplay lacked the depth and faced significant criticism. Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji also made their cameo appearances, and the film also marked the last appearance of both Zohra Sehgal and Begum Para before their demises. Reflecting on Sawariya's failure, Ranbir told IANS, 'My first film itself was a very big disaster, the disaster-ness was celebrated but somewhere as an actor and artiste I had a deep conviction that flops and hits won't matter to me. That gave me confidence.' He added, 'I have never felt competitive towards anybody. I have never felt that I am better or worse than anybody. I feel like I am running my own race. I feel like I have very strong views on how and what I want to do in my life, the kind of films I want to do. 'The kind of characters I want to portray and of course I am going to see a lot of failures.' Before becoming a huge Bollywood actor, Ranbir used to work behind-the-scenes as an assistant director for filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the 2005 film Black, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji.
