PEPE Falls 3% as Heavy Selling Overwhelms Bounce Attempts Despite Whale Accumulation
PEPE fell 3% with volatility hitting 7.74%, according to CoinDesk Research's technical analysis data model.
The token saw peaks of $0.00001268 before tumbling to session lows around $0.00001169 early in the day. While prices briefly bounced, the rebound stalled quickly, leaving PEPE pinned near resistance around $0.00001206.
The massive 24-hour trading volume, exceeding 3.47 trillion tokens, points to large liquidations or rapid repositioning by traders. It comes amid a broader market sell-off that has seen the CoinDesk 20 (CD20) index drop by 2.95% in the last day, while the CoinDesk Memecoin Index (CDMEME) receded 3.9%.
Yet whale accumulation appears to remain robust. Data from Nansen shows that over the past seven days, PEPE whales on Ethereum added 1.4% to their holdings, which now total 305.26 trillion PEPE, while funds on exchanges dropped by 1.14% to 251.2 trillion.
PEPE's performance over the past 24 hours underscored the intensity of the market's bearish tilt. The token dropped 3%, weighed down by relentless selling. Trading remained volatile, with prices swinging across a range of $0.00000980 and posting intraday volatility of nearly 8%.
Bulls briefly pushed prices to $0.00001268 at one point, but strong resistance emerged at the $0.00001267 level. From there, sellers steadily took control, driving prices to a session low of $0.00001169.
Though PEPE managed a modest rebound, climbing from $0.00001210 to as high as $0.00001217, momentum fizzled quickly. The coin settled near $0.00001206, now acting as a resistance zone, suggesting the market remains in consolidation rather than reversing its slide.
Trading volumes soared beyond 3.47 trillion tokens, highlighting the scale of activity as traders reacted to shifting price levels. Until PEPE can hold above key resistance and absorb selling pressure, its trend appears locked in a bearish pattern.

ETH Could Be Worth $15K Medium Term, $4K Target in the Short Term: Fundstrat's Tom Lee
Ethereum is attracting renewed institutional attention as both whale accumulation and high-profile endorsements strengthen the long-term bullish case for the network. On Saturday, in a post on X, crypto analyst Ali Martinez said that Ethereum whales have acquired over 500,000 ETH over the past two weeks, signaling what some analysts interpret as quiet confidence among large holders. Historically, such buying behavior has often preceded major price moves or ecosystem developments. In a recent interview with CoinDesk, Tom Lee, the head of research at Fundstrat, CIO of Fundstrat Capital, and the Chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), talked about his valuation outlook for ether. He referenced a model developed by Fundstrat's Head of Digital Asset Strategy, Sean Farrell, which draws comparisons to private firms like Circle. Using EBITDA-based multiples, Farrell estimates that ether could be worth up to $15,000. Lee supported that logic, noting that Layer-1 platforms like Ethereum — because they power entire ecosystems — often warrant higher valuation multiples, similar to how software firms command richer pricing than consumer businesses. Lee also cited technical analysis from Mark Newton, Fundstrat's Head of Technical Strategy, who sees ether potentially reaching $4,000 before the end of July. Lee said that level is only a first target, adding that a range between $10,000 and $15,000 is realistic based on current adoption and valuation trends. While he stopped short of offering a precise timeline, he noted that such a move could come by year-end — or potentially sooner. Earlier this month, in an interview with CNBC, Lee called Ethereum 'Wall Street's preferred choice' for blockchain infrastructure. He pointed to JPMorgan's stablecoin and Robinhood's tokenization initiatives — both built on Ethereum — as evidence that traditional finance is increasingly aligning with the network. Lee added that Ethereum currently hosts more than 60% of all tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), a figure he expects will continue growing. If stablecoins surpass the $2 trillion mark, as forecast by Treasury Secretary Bessent, he said Ethereum would likely benefit from exponential growth in usage. As of 16:41 GMT on July 19, ETH was trading at $3,564.10, down 0.26% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinDesk data. Technical Analysis Highlights ETH-USD exhibited notable volatility over the 23-hour window from July 18 at 13:00 UTC to July 19 at 12:00 UTC, with prices fluctuating across a $189.98 range, marking a 5% swing between the $3,670.26 peak and the $3,480.58 trough, according to CoinDesk Research's technical analysis data. The sharpest movement occurred between 14:00 and 20:00 UTC on July 18, as ETH dropped from $3,670.26 to $3,480.58 on heavy volume, peaking at 830,808 units. This established strong resistance around $3,670 and support near $3, the decline, ETH entered a consolidation phase between $3,540 and $3,600, with falling trading volume suggesting a slowdown in sell-side momentum and potential price stabilization. During the final 60-minute period ending July 19 at 12:49 UTC, ETH showed renewed strength, climbing from an intraday low of $3,546.17 at 12:07 to $3,557.98 at 12:46. This V-shaped rebound occurred on increased volume at key inflection points, with spikes to 8,319 and 9,841 units at 12:08 and 12:29 UTC, respectively — potential signs of institutional accumulation and a reversal from the prior downtrend. Prediction: SharpLink's Ethereum Move Is Just the Beginning
Key Points A handful of publicly traded companies, including SharpLink Gaming, have now embraced the Ethereum treasury company model. Just like the Bitcoin treasury company model, it relies on raising money from investors to buy crypto. It remains to be seen if a strategy created for Bitcoin will be just as successful for Ethereum. 10 stocks we like better than Ethereum › Something very interesting is going on with Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) right now. Small, relatively unknown companies are starting to add Ether, the native coin of the Ethereum blockchain, to their balance sheets as part of a new strategy designed to lift their stock market valuations. And so far, it's working. Case in point: during the past 30 days, shares of SharpLink Gaming (NASDAQ: SBET) are up a whopping 150% (as of July 18). SharpLink Gaming has attracted so much attention with its new crypto strategy that it's almost certain to attract other companies as well. The Ethereum treasury company model In a very short time, SharpLink Gaming has become the largest corporate holder of Ether coins on the planet. It now holds 280,706 coins, worth about $960 million at recent prices. To put that figure into perspective, that's more Ether than even the nonprofit Ethereum Foundation holds. In early July, the company raised more than $400 million for its Ether war chest. After its latest buy in mid-July, it still has more than $250 million for future purchases, so it's likely that we'll be hearing more from SharpLink Gaming soon. If this strategy sounds familiar, that's because the Ethereum treasury company model is a replica of the Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) treasury company model pioneered by Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), the company formerly known as MicroStrategy. The concept is very simple: Instead of using cash from operations to fund crypto purchases, you tap the capital markets for funding. Once you have this funding lined up, you go on a crypto buying spree. All of this works as long as the price of the cryptocurrency continues to go up. We've seen this work with Bitcoin, because the price of Bitcoin -- aside from a few pullbacks here and there -- has mostly gone up during the past 24 months. The same might be said for Ethereum, which is up 7% in 2025 (as of July 18) after registering losses for much of the year. It remains to be seen if Ethereum can deliver the same type of performance as Bitcoin, which is up 30% in the same period. The growth of Ethereum treasury companies For now, only a handful of publicly traded companies have adopted this strategy. Two other notable examples are Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSEMKT: BMNR) and Bit Digital (NASDAQ: BTBT). Both announced their pivots to this model in June. Now that the groundwork has been laid, it's easy to see how other companies could be tempted to jump in. The price of Ether is still only $3,600, which makes raising money from investors easier than raising money to buy Bitcoin at about $120,000. The lower barrier to entry is likely to be much more attractive for small-cap companies with relatively limited access to the capital markets. Should you invest in Ethereum treasury companies? Right now, I have mixed feelings about SharpLink Gaming, which is also a marketing partner for sports betting books and online casino operators. Just look at this chart, and you'll see why I think it's a risky gamble: In mid-2025, the company's stock had been flatlining. Nothing it did could get its stock price up. Until, of course, it latched on to the idea of investing in Ethereum. And I'm not very enthusiastic about Bitmine Immersion Technologies, either. Granted, it now has renowned investment strategist Tom Lee of Fundstrat as its chairman. That gives it a lot of power to reach out to investors for more capital. But what in the world is a Bitcoin mining company doing buying Ether? It doesn't make any sense to me. We can ask the same about Bit Digital, which is now winding down its Bitcoin mining operations. How can you be an evangelist for Ethereum when your core DNA is rooted in Bitcoin? That's why I'm starting to appreciate Strategy more and more these days. While Michael Saylor, the founder and executive chairman of the company, can be a bit over the top in his predictions, he's a strong evangelist for Bitcoin. I get the impression that, from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed, he's thinking about Bitcoin. That's the type of person I want running a crypto treasury company. So before you invest in an Ethereum treasury company, make sure you do your due diligence. Only a small handful of them may ever turn into long-term plays worthy of your investment. Should you invest $1,000 in Ethereum right now? Troller Cat Surpasses $350,000 in Contributions as Stage 14 of Presale Launches with New Referral Rewards and Staking Benefits
NEW YORK, July 19, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Troller Cat ($TCAT), an Ethereum-based meme coin project known for its gamified presale rollout, has officially entered Stage 14 of its ongoing token presale, themed around the viral 2009 'Balloon Boy Hoax.' The latest milestone brings total contributions past $350,000, marking significant progress in its 26-stage presale roadmap. Each presale phase incorporates a viral or satirical reference to internet history, and Stage 14 continues that trend while introducing additional community-driven incentives. The token is now priced at $0.00009667, reflecting a 1833.4% increase from its Stage 1 price. As the project approaches its final presale phases, Troller Cat's team has also announced updates to its staking program and referral system to further enhance user engagement and participation. New Milestones and Tokenomics Update Since launching the first presale stage earlier this year, Troller Cat has steadily built momentum through a structured token release model. Each of the 26 stages is uniquely themed and tied to a set price increase. The listing price at the end of the presale has been set at $0.0005309, implying a projected return for participants who join before final stages conclude. With over 372 billion total tokens and a 2-year liquidity lock in place, the project aims to implement a long-term deflationary token model. The deflationary mechanics will be supported by ad revenue from Troller Cat's upcoming Game Center and a token-burning protocol that gradually reduces circulating supply. 'We're not just aiming for virality; we're building a community experience that mirrors how internet culture evolves—spontaneously, with humor, but also with structure,' said a spokesperson from the Troller Cat development team. 69% APY Staking Introduced During Presale Alongside the progression to Stage 14, Troller Cat has introduced a staking program offering up to 69% APY for participants who lock their tokens during the presale period. This initiative is designed to reward early backers and encourage longer-term holding behavior ahead of the token's listing on decentralized exchanges. Unlike traditional staking protocols that launch post-ICO, the presale staking mechanism allows users to begin earning yield prior to listing, with rewards distributed upon token launch. The mechanism is non-custodial, meaning users retain ownership of their tokens while they are locked. Referral Program Gains Traction Troller Cat's referral rewards program has also seen expanded adoption. Any participant who contributes $25 or morein the presale unlocks access to a personalized dashboard where they can generate a unique referral code. When shared, both the referring user and the invitee receive an additional 10% in TCAT tokens, aligning community growth with token distribution. According to the team, this structure has encouraged organic sharing and rapid user onboarding without relying on external promotional campaigns or influencer marketing. Instead, growth is fueled directly by the community through transparent and trackable incentives. Gamified Presale Format The current phase, 'Balloon Boy Hoax,' is one of several themed stages inspired by notable online hoaxes, pranks, and viral moments. Each new stage introduces updated visuals and minor platform tweaks while maintaining the project's overarching format. This approach aims to enhance community engagement and provide contextually rich milestones throughout the presale. 'This isn't just about memes—it's about digital culture, history, and creating a storyline that the crypto community can rally around,' the team spokesperson added. With 12 presale stages remaining, each with an incrementally higher token price and decreasing token availability, the project expects to complete the presale within the next several weeks, depending on market participation and referral traction. Community-Driven Approach Troller Cat's whitepaper outlines plans for a post-launch ecosystem that includes: A Game Center integrating ad revenue sharing with token burns integrating ad revenue sharing with token burns A liquidity lock mechanism to protect against early-stage volatility mechanism to protect against early-stage volatility Governance tools to allow the community to vote on future stage themes and post-launch developments The project has emphasized transparency and participation as core pillars of its strategy, publishing real-time presale metrics and circulating educational content to ensure users understand staking, referrals, and presale mechanics. Token Allocation and Roadmap The full token allocation includes: 40% allocated to presale presale 10% to staking rewards 15% to ecosystem growth and development 20% to marketing and partnerships 15% reserved for centralized exchange liquidity and listings Following the completion of Stage 26, Troller Cat is expected to list on Uniswap, where it will launch at the fixed price of $0.0005309. No new tokens will be minted post-launch, aligning with the deflationary structure and capped supply approach. Key Figures Current Presale Stage: 14 of 26 ('Balloon Boy Hoax') 14 of 26 ('Balloon Boy Hoax') Token Price (Stage 14): $0.00009667 $0.00009667 Total Raised (as of July 19, 2025): Over $350,000 Over $350,000 Projected Listing Price: $0.0005309 $0.0005309 Maximum Token Supply: 372,000,000,000 TCAT 372,000,000,000 TCAT Liquidity Lock Duration: 2 years 2 years Staking Yield: Up to 69% APY An example calculation provided by the project team illustrates that an investment of $35,000 at the current price would yield approximately 361,997,617 TCAT. If the token lists at its projected launch price, the value of that holding would be over $192,000, not including staking rewards. Next Steps The team has outlined the next steps in the roadmap, which include: Launch of the Troller Cat Game Center beta (Q4 2025) NFT-based stage collectibles for early adopters (Q4 2025) Expanded referral leaderboard and community reward programs Uniswap listing targeted for completion shortly after Stage 26 ends As the project transitions through the remaining 12 stages, it aims to build on its current momentum while introducing new platform features in tandem with community feedback.
