Olly Murs cancels Glasgow OVO Hydro concerts after 20 minutes amid health fears
Olly Murs has dramatically cancelled his concert in Scotland after just 20 minutes due to health concerns. The X factor star had fans buzzing for his gig at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Thursday night (May 22).
Thousands of fans had packed out the major venue and were excited to see the pop sensation take the stage. However, reportedly just 20 minutes and five songs into his set, Murs pulled the plug on the show.
It is understood the entertainer lost his voice during the gig. A video posted on X, previously Twitter, shows the Troublemaker chanter issuing a grovelling apology to supporters about axing the concert.
The 41-year-old also promised to sort out refunds for "anyone who was unhappy".
In the clip, the musician, who previously presented the Xtra Factor with the late Caroline Flack when the popular talent show was still on TV, said: "This is so unlike me, so I just want to say sorry from the bottom of my heart.
"I don't want to upset you guys, I'm so sorry. We'll sort out refunds for anyone who's unhappy but Glasgow I will be back to see you guys soon, I'm so sorry, I'll see you soon, I love you all, that's the best I can do, so sorry."
Angry fans who were at the called-off show took to X to share their frustration and disappointment at having to head home early.
Some Scots who were there also claimed Murs' reason for wrapping the show up early was something of a bizarre U-turn as his voice initially sounded "fine" when the curtain first dropped.
"No way has Olly Murs walked off the stage with a sore throat after five songs," one social media user blasted, accompanied by a crying face emoji.
Another ranted: "There will be no dancing with Ollys Murs tonight at the Hydro."
A third chimed in: "One minute Olly Murs' voice is fine and the next he sends everyone home after just five songs at a packed OVO Hydro in Glasgow complaining of vocal issues."
A fourth went on: "Olly Murs walking off stage in Glasgow five songs in could cry!! Better be coming back and I better get first pick."
Another ranted: "Olly Murs cancelled in the middle of his gig and had to leave due to issues with his voice. Get well soon, Olly".

Olly Murs first appeared on screens back in 2009 as a contestant on The X Factor.
Despite coming in second to Geordie singer Joe McElderry, Murs has gone on to release chart-topping singles and five number one albums.
He is currently travelling across the country celebrating with his 15 Years of Hits Tour. Murs previously spoke to STV News about his now-cancelled show, saying that Glasgow is his favourite stop on tour.

Richard Gadd looks worlds apart from his previous depiction of himself in the Netflix hit Baby Reindeer in new snaps of his upcoming BBC drama, Half Man, filmed in Glasgow. Richard Gadd rose to worldwide fame last year thanks to Netflix's Baby Reindeer, in which he played himself, in the role of struggling stand-up comedian Donny and told the bizarre and disturbing true story of being stalked by a woman named Martha. The one-man dark comedy show aired on screens in April last year and sparked quite the global reaction, with the 'real Martha', Fiona Harvey, going on to file a lawsuit against the streaming platform. However, while the legal quietly rumbles on, the Scottish actor has moved onto his next project. Gadd is set to star in a brand new six-episode BBC drama called Half Man, which is also written, produced and created by the 36-year-old himself. The show wrapped up filming recently in Glasgow with the BBC releasing some first look snaps of Richard and Jamie Bell, who play brothers Ruben and Niall, as they reunite after years of estrangement. However, what is likely to catch viewer's attention even more is the body transformation that Gadd appears to have gone through since being likened to a baby reindeer. The Scots star looks unrecognisable in the snaps, sporting a white vest that shows off his muscles while hunched over a table and a dark heavy beard. In another picture, Richard is seen sitting on a hospital bed looking very mad, wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans, with his shoulders curled over and hands in his lap. It appears his character, Ruben, will be world's away from Richard's depiction of himself as Donny in Baby Reindeer according to the show's blurb. The plot of Half Man involves Ruben showing up to Niall's wedding unexpectedly, sparking a violent turn, with viewers being transported back to their past lives, spanning four decades from the 1980s to present day. According to the BBC it will explore the question: 'What does it mean to be a man?' Curfew star Mitchell Robertson and SAS Rogue Heroes actor Stuart Campbell are set to portray the brothers in their younger years. Other Notable cast members include Rivals and Coronation Street star Charlie De Melo as well as Doctor Who's Neve McIntosh as Ruben and Niall's mother. Half man is set to air in 2026 on the BBC and on HBO Max. With Richard busy focusing on his new project, the Baby Reindeer lawsuit rages on in the background. After Baby Reindeer was released, it achieved global success, securing six Emmys, two Golden Globes and received the most nominations at this year's Bafta TV awards, although won only one for Jessica Gunning as best supporting actress. Following it blowing up online, internet sleuths appeared to track the 'real Martha' online and found a woman named Fiona Harvey, who went on to give a tell-all interview to Piers Morgan on TalkTV. Harvey took Netflix to court, demanding £132m for her supposed depiction in the series. Harvey previously alleged that the series falsely implied she had sexually assaulted Gadd and had been sent to prison for stalking him. Although Netflix filed a motion in July to throw the suit out, a judge ruled towards the end of last year that Baby Reindeer did not fully live up to its billing as a 'true story' and has allowed Harvey to pursue the court case. Netflix has defended the lawsuit and Gadd's 'right to tell his story', but at the forefront of the case is that Harvey has no criminal convictions, unlike Martha in the show. The streaming platform continues to argue in legal papers that the alleged defamatory statements are 'substantially true'.

Netflix Love Is Blind, hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, is set to welcome some familiar faces for the reunion episode, which will air at the end of this month Fans are on the edge of their seats for the final two episodes to be released, as Love is Blind UK returned to screens for series two. Around 20,000 guests went on the Edinburgh Polar Express last year. In January, after a record-breaking run the team behind it said they couldn't wait to have everyone back this winter. Even parents who criticised some aspects of it said they planned to buy tickets again for this year before it was axed. It's thought this means there is now only one officially licensed Polar Express running in Scotland in 2025. Looks like I will need to think of something else.' While a granny revealed: 'I'm so disappointed. I took my two wee granddaughters last year and they loved it. I was intending to go back this year and stay over in Edinburgh.' Another parent asked: 'Why is this not going ahead in the capital of Scotland? We never get anything decent here.'
