Financial services company Primerica (NYSE:PRI) will be reporting results this Wednesday after market hours. Here's what to expect.
Primerica beat analysts' revenue expectations by 2.1% last quarter, reporting revenues of $803.6 million, up 9.4% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with net premiums earned in line with analysts' estimates but a slight miss of analysts' book value per share estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Primerica's revenue to grow 6.1% year on year to $786.1 million, slowing from the 9.8% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $5.20 per share.
The majority of analysts covering the company have reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Primerica has missed Wall Street's revenue estimates four times over the last two years.
Looking at Primerica's peers in the life insurance segment, some have already reported their Q2 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Corebridge Financial delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 5.8%, beating analysts' expectations by 7.3%, and Lincoln Financial Group reported revenues up 4.4%, topping estimates by 1.1%. Lincoln Financial Group traded up 7.8% following the results.

The outlook for 2025 remains clouded by potential trade policy changes and corporate tax discussions, which could impact business confidence and growth. While some of the life insurance stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 2.9% on average over the last month. Primerica is down 2.8% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $307.29 (compared to the current share price of $265.39).

Report on state of Downtown Pittsburgh focuses on revitalization

Is Downtown Pittsburgh growing? Is it dying? Does the outlook look good, or is it discouraging? Those questions and others were addressed Tuesday during a meeting with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and local leaders. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is the group that puts on Picklesburgh, Light Up Night and other events. They're also the think tank and actors leading the charge to revitalize Downtown as a vibrant center for the entire region. A few short decades ago, Downtown Pittsburgh was one of the most dynamic city centers in the country. Today, in 2025, some say it's a struggling space trying to redefine its identity. But there are people working to revitalize Downtown. "We have a number of residential projects and conversions in the pipeline. There's currently 1,062 residential units in the pipeline for delivery to market over the next three years, and 79% of those are former office space," said Cate Irvin, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's senior director of economic development. Part of the strategy to grow Downtown is taking the ever-growing amount of empty office space and turning it into residential space. Another key factor is not only keeping businesses Downtown, but doing everything possible to attract new ones. "Help address specific issues, whether that might be permitting, public safety, transit, workforce, really just about anything," Irvin said. Safety is on the list. It comes after two people were shot in the Cultural District on Friday. "There was the unfortunate incident this past week in the Cultural District. There's been a lot of discussion about what happened there and how to ensure it doesn't happen again. We continue to see a significant police presence in Downtown with the public safety center, but we know it's not enough," said Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership president and CEO Jeremy Waldrup. Waldrup went on to say that more needs to be done. And don't think this is a unique Pittsburgh problem. Many major cities throughout our nation are experiencing these same challenges.

From pancakes to purpose: How a Dallas cafe is changing lives

It might be one of the best breakfast joints in Dallas you've never heard of, but the Hubcap Cafe does more than serve larger-than-life pancakes. They change lives one meal at a time. "We have the best pancakes in Dallas," said the CEO of the Dallas 24 Hour Club. "That will run you $2 including tax." "It's the size of an actual hubcap," said the kitchen manager at the Hubcap Cafe, which serves the massive flapjacks. The manager runs the kitchen and is an artist when it comes to making their famous pancake. "You and your friend come in with only a dollar each. Both of you are going to eat and be full with just one pancake," he said. They're well-known for big portions for little cash. "It's down-home food, good food, and the portions—you can feed two people off any one plate off the menu," he said. But the small cafe is probably better known for changing lives—lives like the kitchen manager's. "Cooking has always been my passion. I always wanted to be a chef, I just never saw myself actually working in a kitchen with the choices I made in life," he said. "My day-to-day life before I was incarcerated was homeless, gambling, stealing, doing anything I could do to get money to survive, to find my next fix." He was doing drugs every day and stealing to pay for it until he was arrested. "I was facing 10 years," he said. But a deal with the drug court allowed him to avoid some of the most severe consequences if he got clean. That's when he found the Dallas 24 Hour Club. "We provide transitional living, support services, and essential life skills for homeless alcoholics and addicts," said the CEO. Some of the essential life skills the rehab facility provides are part of a job training program through their in-house restaurant, the Hubcap Cafe, where the kitchen manager was able to change his life in ways he could never imagine. "You hear a lot of people say, you'll get your life back. I never had the life that I have now. It's beyond anything I could have ever imagined," he said. Just a few years out of prison, he's sober and married with kids. And he's holding on to that new life, flipping pancakes and serving others who might just need a hot meal. "I'm so grateful to the Dallas 24 Hour Club for giving me the opportunity to become who I was always destined to be," he said. The Hubcap Cafe is open to the public, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days a year.
