Red-Hot Cardinals Pitching Prospect Placed on Injured List originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
St. Louis CardinalsNo. 10 prospect Tekoah Roby - who has been lights out over his last four starts - was placed on the 7-day injured list on Monday following last week's 5 2/3-inning shutout performance in which the righty struck out six.

Although the injury is unspecified, Roby's absence can be added to a long list of injuries to pitching prospects in the Cardinals organization this season. No. 5 Tink Hence and No. 2 Quinn Mathews have both missed time and No. 11 Cooper Hjerpe has been out all season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
The 23-year-old prospect is in the midst of an excellent year on the mound, which propelled him from Double-A to Triple-A earlier in the campaign - his first promotion since before the 2023 season.

After carrying a 2.49 ERA through 10 starts with Double-A Springfield in which he struck out 57 batters in 47 innings, Roby was promoted to Triple-A Memphis on June 9. The former third-round pick got off to a slow start with the Redbirds, allowing 12 runs in his first two starts, but seems to have found his footing over the last couple weeks.

Dating back to June 22, Roby has allowed just two earned runs in 21 innings across his last four starts. In that span, the Asheville, North Carolina native has struck out 21 batters and walked just five batters, carrying a 0.86 ERA and 1.10 WHIP.
Despite the growing list of injuries sustained by pitchers in the Cardinals minor league system, help is on the way after the team drafted 12 college pitchers in the MLB Draft earlier this week.

Former Thunder star James Harden ranked No. 34 in NBA history

As we enter the sizzling summer months, we're approaching the point in the calendar year when the NBA takes a couple of months off. That allows for plenty of time to be perspective and reflect on what's happened in the past. The Bleacher Report NBA staff took advantage of the downtime. They ranked the top 100 NBA players of all time. The extensive project had an all-hands-on-deck approach. They conjured up the votes and released a naturally controversial ranking. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's exclusion might be one of the biggest snubs, there were other players who represented the Oklahoma City Thunder among the 100 players. One is James Harden. He came in at No. 34 spot in the rankings. Harden spent the first three of his 16 seasons on the Thunder. His stint was highlighted by a 2011-12 Sixth Man of the Year award. He was the third-best player on an NBA Finals team. Not agreeing to an extension, he was shockingly traded to the Houston Rockets, where he blossomed into one of the greatest scorers of all time and an MVP winner. "One of the most devastating pick-and-roll forces the game has ever seen, Harden also developed into an unstoppable isolation threat," Bleacher Report wrote. "Elite quickness, strength and craft made it impossible to stay in front of Harden, and then he perfected a step-back three-pointer so deadly that opponents actually preferred to play defense behind him." While Harden went on to enjoy historic individual success, he's yet to return to the NBA Finals since 2012. That's the one hiccup to a near-perfect resume of one of the greatest players ever. He was a consistent 30-plus point threat in his prime and a perennial All-Star and All-NBA member. "An extremely heliocentric star who has led the league in usage rate twice, never consistently defended and couldn't lead his team to a title," Bleacher Report wrote. "Harden has more than his share of detractors. But he was also among the best offensive players in the game for a decade. That matters." Harden has spent most of his career with the Rockets. He's also had stops on the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers. The 35-year-old has taken a step back, but remains one of the league's top players.

Angel Reese gets candid about cyberbullying she's faced from WNBA fans

Angel Reese got candid about the cyberbullying she has faced from fans since winning the national title in 2023 and joining the WNBA one year later. 'I've experienced it,' Reese said in an interview with ESPN ahead of the league's All-Star Game. 'It was hard for me in the beginning. After I won the national championship, my whole life changed. That was the first time I had seen negativity like that on social media. I thought I had a huge following before, but it skyrocketed to millions. It was bigger than basketball when they were finding my address, my car. I had to change my whole lifestyle. 'It doesn't bother me as much anymore just because I feel like I've built a thicker skin, but not everybody has a thick skin.' 4 Angel Reese is pictured during an interview with ESPN. Imagn Images Reese has faced plenty of negativity and criticism, and she referred to other players in the WNBA as her 'sisters' who 'really, really care about me.' She became an instant celebrity after helping LSU win the national title in 2023 and creating what fans labeled a rivalry against then-Iowa and now-Fever star Caitlin Clark — something that has continued at the professional level. 'This is the closest I've been to these players,' Reese told ESPN. 'Last year, I wasn't that close. When I was in Phoenix [for the 2024 All-Star Game], I was very quiet. I didn't talk to anybody. That's what I really love about this league: being able to have sisters. I don't have any sisters. Being able to have sisters here who really, really care about me and knowing I can take that and transform that into the community.' 4 Angel Reese pictured during the Sky's July 16 game.
