Love Island spoiler: Villa descends into chaos following controversial recoupling decision

Cosmopolitan4 days ago
Ok, we're going to need a minute to recover from tonight's episode of Love Island after the show aired what may be its most dramatic recoupling ever, after Toni chose to recouple with Harrison.
During tonight's episode the Toni, Harrison and Lauren love triangle continued with dramatic consequences. At the start of the episode Shakira and Ty chose to save Harrison and Lauren, alongside Conor and Emma and sent Tommy and Lucy home after the public vote.
Toni expressed her annoyance about Shakira saving Harrison and Lauren, however Shakira and Yasmin insisted that Toni was actually happy he was there.
Then later in the episode Harrison and Lauren slept together in the communal bedroom. Toni then discovered Harrison and Lauren had been physical but didn't learn the extent of what went down. However, this was enough for her to call things off with Harrison and she went onto tell him she was "done" with the love triangle and deserved "better".
The Islanders then received a text telling them there would a recoupling that evening with the girls choosing who they wanted to be in a couple with. As the Islanders were getting ready, Harrison confessed to Harry he wanted Toni to pick him at the recoupling and so Harry helped Harrison to meet Toni on the terrace.
While on the terrace Harrison confessed his feelings for Toni, who was confused by his confession but ultimately didn't seem put off by it.
It then came to the recoupling and when it came to Toni's decision she chose to recouple with Harrison, shocking the rest of the Villa.
In her speech she said: "The last few days, if not weeks, have been really up and down and confusing. But after a very unexpected conversation on the terrace this evening, I've gotten the clarity and the answers I've been looking for."
At this point fellow Islander Meg whispered to Dejon: "They met at the terrace, is that what Harry pulled her for?"
Toni then continued: "I think this person has realised where they went wrong. Hopefully things will look up from here on out. This decision has not been easy for me and I really had no idea where my head was at until that conversation.
"I would like to apologise on behalf of both of us to the two people we've hurt in the process of coming to this conclusion. I'm not usually one for second or third chances but I'm willing to give it a shot. The boy I would like to couple up with is Harrison."
Her decision sent shock waves through the Villa with all the Islanders looked stunned at her choice.
Lauren went onto recouple with Ty, who had expressed interest in her earlier on in the day, and Cach was chosen by Emma.
Following the recoupling the group quickly dispersed and Lauren burst into tears with Helena and Meg, where she could be heard saying she felt like an "idiot".
Toni and Harrison remained at the Firepit where they both confessed to feeling terrible. Harrison then asked Toni if she thought Cach expected her to decision to which she said no. Cach was then overheard telling the boys it was "done" with himself and Toni.
It's safe to say tomorrow's night episode of Love Island is sure to be a dramatic one.

Who is Love Island's Angel? A reminder of her age, background and more as she gets closer to Harry

Love Island delivered another twist this week with a late addition bombshell: Angel Swift. Debuting on Friday 18 July, Angel made her first appearance during a rodeo-themed party (making us feel for the Love Islanders who couldn't get Cowboy Carter tickets bc they were already in Mallorca, tbh). Anyway, quickly after arriving, the 26-year-old caught Harry's eye, and there was some *very flirtatious* chat involving heavy eye contact and talk of spooning. Keep in mind that Harry is currently coupled up with Helena, and has been chatting to his ex Emma saying he'll "always" love On the other hand, she has said she has her eye on Ty, who is coupled up with Lauren. As all that drama unfolds, here's your cheat sheet on who Angel is: from her age to her occupation and whether she knows anyone already in the villa. Job: Aesthetics Practitioner and Salon Owner From: Maidstone, Kent Angel owns a salon called AngelFace, which offers a bunch of different services including waxing, hair extensions, microneedling and dermaplaning. Age: 26 Angel is 26 years old, celebrating her birthday on 1 February with a cheeky post that said "Happy National Angel Day 🎂". She is an Aquarius and according to Cosmo's Horoscope writer, they're "Not one for 'going with the flow', Aquarians make their own mind up and then stick to it. You can not cajole or persuade them from their viewpoint, unless you've got *evidence* i.e. data, facts, peer-reviewed analysis." Ahead of entering the villa, Angel has spoken about her position as a bombshell entering into the show while many of the Islanders are already coupled up. "Breaking up another couple? That is what's going to happen, so it's quite exciting really," she said. "I feel like people have been getting their heads turned very easily. I do feel like I have quite a good chance of turning someone's head." After being single for a year, she has said she's ready to find something serious. "It's an amazing opportunity to make new connections and have new experiences. I'm ready to make memories with someone, go travelling with them and fall in love," she said. You betcha! Angel has a hefty 124,000 IG followers and over 6000 TikTok followers. Her IG followers include Love Island alum, with former contestants Liberty Poole and Harriet Blackmore all commenting on Angel's announcement post. New episodes of Love Island air on weekdays and Sundays at 9pm on ITV2.

Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama which is about 50 miles east of Montgomery, Alabama and about 108 miles southwest of Atlanta, Georgia. "I love college football season. Saturdays, I'll literally just be at home watching college football. I'm not even kidding," Olandria said. "We love a girl that watches football," Nic responded. Why Netflix's beat-and-raise quarter is welcome news for Disney investors

Strong earnings from streaming king Netflix on Thursday sets the stage for Disney to shine with its results in a few weeks. Netflix reported an upbeat quarterly results after the bell Thursday, with revenue soaring 16% year over year, its seventh straight quarter of double-digit growth. The streaming service also delivered beats on operating income, earnings per share and free cash flow, and raised its full-year revenue guidance. (Shares were down Friday on Netflix warning that its operating margin would be lower in the second half of 2025). While the results certainly keep Netflix atop the competitive streaming industry, they also provide a good read-through for Disney, which has been hyper-focused on growing its streaming platforms — Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ -- as its traditional TV business remains challenged. Indeed, Netflix reported "healthy member growth" — Netflix no longer discloses quarterly net member adds — proving consumers are still willing to pay for streaming entertainment. But it also found success with higher pricing for its products and revenue from its new ad-supported services. That higher pricing is welcome news for other streamers, including Disney, which has raised prices for Disney+ ad-supported and ad-free plans, as well as for its bundles which combine Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. The uptick in ad revenue at Netflix demonstrates that major streaming platforms like Disney+ can raise prices and grow advertising income without losing subscribers, proving that customers are willing to pay up for premium content, and that ad-supported models can help diversify revenue streams. In related news, NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock just announced Friday that it is raising prices by $3 per month for its ad-supported and ad-free tiers. The price hikes come after a surge in subscribers for the latest season of "Love Island" and in anticipation of its NBA broadcast package beginning this fall. (NBCUniversal is the parent company of CNBC.) Ahead of Disney's third quarter on Aug. 6, UBS estimated double-digit earnings per share growth will continue, buoyed by resilient demand at the company's theme parks and similar improvement in direct-to-consumer profitability. They note concerns that the opening of Universal's Epic theme park in Orlando appear to have been overblown. The analysts raised its price target on Disney stock to $138 a share from $120 earlier this week. After a big move off their April lows, shares have been rangebound as investors wait to hear more about streaming profitability improvements, the strength of its parks and experiences business, and management's plan to mitigate declines in linear TV. The stock is trading roughly 1% lower at $121 per share Friday. Disney is a "show-me stock," Jim Cramer said Thursday on "Squawk on the Street." "People want to see the Disney+ numbers and see that there really is a breakout because there's been so much distrust about anything that's involved with linear [TV]," he said. "No one seems to get their way until they see the numbers. I think the numbers are going to come through and the stock's going to look cheap. I'm a believer." Of course, we don't sacrifice our discipline even when we have faith that Disney will be able to move higher over time. We trimmed our position on June 27 to capitalize on that big run. Now, we're waiting for earnings in a couple weeks for a business update. We maintain our price target of $130 and 2-rating on the stock. (Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust is long DIS.
