Love Island's secret sex rules as bosses make jaw-dropping change
As we wait for the new series of Love Island to kick off tonight, the Mirror lifts the lid on the show's secret sex rules as bosses allow sex scenes to be aired for the first time this summer
ITV's Love Island has a string of secret sex rules, which the saucy singletons must follow. The new series of the smash-hit dating show, which kicks off tonight, is sure to be one of the steamiest yet after bosses revealed that sex scenes would be aired i n the Hideaway for the first time this summer.
The jaw-dropping move has divided viewers, with some saying they don't know want to see what pops up beneath the sheets under the Spanish sun. However, others, think the rule change is just what the new series needs as executive producer Mike Spencer said: "If sex happens, we'll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours. We need to keep the show fresh and exciting."
So, as we wait for the new series to launch later when we'll finally be introduced to the class of 2025, here's all the sex rules the contestants must follow, including an outright ban on masturbating...

Outright ban on masturbating
Before going into the villa, all the Love Island contestants are prepped on what they can and can't do to ensure their strict sexual behaviour guidelines are met.
There is an outright ban on masturbating in the villas and despite most of the contestants wearing very little in the show, no one is allowed to get fully naked in front of the cameras as it's a 'public place'. This even applies in the shower.
Safety first
Safe sex is paramount and each contestant is offered an STI-test before entering the villa. Love Island star Marcel Somerville has said that in his experience, the bosses of the show made a big push for safe sex - adding that anyone going on the show must pass an STI test.
Marcel, who said he didn't have sex himself while he was in the villa, told The Mirror that the show does strict testing before people go in the villa, revealing that "quite a few" tests are done before people sign up for the show.
To make sure the contestants are practicing safe sex, ITV bosses provide their own brand of condoms which are readily available with up to 200 packets of the contraceptive aids put in the villa at the start of the series.
Former contestant, Kaz Crossley, managed to nab a bag of the branded condoms when she was dumped from the villa, sharing a snap of the loot with the caption: "Unpacking...tried to get my money's worth after being dumped, clearly."
Drunk sex is banned
Drunk sex – and getting drunk in general – is also banned in the Love Island villa as there is a two-drink limit per night for each Islander.
Although the Islanders are given booze during their evening parties, contestants are not allowed to get drunk with an explicit number of drinks given to each contestant.
After Andrea-Jane was dumped from the villa during the seventh series of the show, the blonde bombshell lifted the lid on the drinking rules inside the villa.
She told Capital FM: 'It is a two-drink limit. And usually, you get your first drink and then you have to wait around three hours until the second one."
Couples must see counsellor post-sex
Anyone who does have sex in the villa must see a counsellor afterwards and can gain access to the morning after pill if needed. The contestants are also offered therapy when the show ends, with Love Island OG Amy Hart, previously praising producers, telling the Mirror the show 'saved her' with its 'exceptional' level of aftercare.
A string of saucy singletons have had sex in the villa, including Jon Clark and Hannah Elizabeth, who 'christened' the villa when the show first aired in 2015 – with Jon declaring it was the 'best night of my life'.
Meanwhile, in series two, Olivia and Alex Bowen had sex up to 30 times while Malin Andersson and Terry Walsh couldn't keep their hands off each other - and even did the deed in front of their housemates.
The couple bizarrely decided to slide under their bed sheets in the middle of the day while in the middle of a conversation with the other islanders, but it was pretty obvious what they were up to.
After dumping Malin, Terry moved on with Emma Jane Woodham who he brazenly had sex with on top of the covers in front of everyone.
Speaking afterward in the Beach Hut, Emma admitted her dad wouldn't be impressed with her actions. She said: "Me and Terry had a bit of a kiss and a cuddle when we went upstairs last night. "My pops is very disapproving, so he won't like that very much."

Absolutely Everything We Know About British Actor Adam Long
The British actor Adam Long could have a new love interest according to new pictures that are doing the rounds on the internet. In photographs published by The Daily Mail, Adam Long can be seen on what appears to be a coffee date with fellow actor Aimee Lou Wood. In the pictures, they can be seen kissing and hugging outside a cafe in London while enjoying some drinks. You might recognise Long from his role in ITV's 2019 show The Bay, where he played the role of a construction worker called Vincent. But while Adam Long seems to keep a relatively low profile day to day, he's got a whole host of other huge shows under his belt - and plenty of exciting projects in the pipeline. Adam Long is a British actor, who is most well known for his role as Lewis Whippey in Happy Valley. He also starred in Dunkirk, Spike Island, Vera, Waterloo Road, The Thirteenth Tale, Act Of Grace and the award winning TV drama Don't Take My Baby. Neither Aimee or Adam have commented on their relationship status, but rumours are flying thanks to the recent pictures. Both Aimee and Adam star in the upcoming BBC romantic comedy-drama Film Club, which will air later in 2025, and online reports have noted that Aimee has liked all of Adam's social media posts since their casting was announced last November. Aimee also praised Adam after he completed a sponsored run in aid of Movember and men's mental health awareness. Under a picture he shared on Instagram, Aimee wrote 'YOU DID IT!!!!!!!' It's believed Adam met Aimee while working on the upcoming BBC series. Fittingly, the two of them play an on-screen couple in the show. Now, rumours that the pair are an item are ramping up off-screen too. A source who spotted her with Adam in South London told The Sun: 'They looked smitten with one another. They were hugging and kissing and she kept draping her arm around his neck while his hand was on her knee. They looked very comfy together — a vision of love's young dream.' Yes! You can keep up to date with all things Adam at @itsadamlong. Yes, Adam Long plays Evie's boyfriend Josh in Film Club. The BBC romantic-comedy drama, which is created by Aimee Lou Wood and Ralph Davies, will air later in 2025. Alongside Adam Long, the show stars Nabhaan Rizwaan and Doctor Foster's Suranne Jones, and filming for it wrapped earlier this year. A BBC synopsis for the show reads: 'It's Friday night. 7pm. Film Club Week 198. Evie hasn't left the house in six months after a 'wobble', and tonight, things are different.' It continues: 'Noa's got big news. A dream job is taking him across the other side of the country, which means that all of this is ending. That reality is hitting. That they're going to be forced to consider for the first time they might be more than just friends. Neither of them are the best when it comes to emotions but this time those emotions might be impossible to ignore...' The synopsis sums up Film Club by describing it as 'witty' and emotional,' show about 'love and family, about whether we should follow our hearts or heads, and being in love with a friend.'

Former Love Island contestant is East Kilbride's first summer signing as boss hails 'athletic and powerful' striker
Kilby have snapped up Ouzy See as they make moves to bolster their squad for a League Two title tilt East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy reckons 'athletic and powerful' ex-Love Island contestant Ouzy See will earn plenty of admirers at Casa K-Park this season after joining the Lowland League champions. Former Edinburgh City striker See is Kennedy's first signing of the SPFL era and the Love Island heartthrob - who featured in the 2023 edition of the hit ITV reality series - is bound to catch the eye as they embark on their first campaign in League Two after winning the Lowland League last term. The striker scored 31 goals in 99 appearances for the Citizens and Kilby will be hoping he can fire them to another promotion. Kennedy said: "If you look at his time at Edinburgh City, he was really successful and was the focal point of the team. Certainly in League One, League Two, he is one of the best striker around so I'm delighted to get him. "He fits the profile for us. He's athletic, powerful and he looks after himself. I have no doubt he will be a fantastic signing for us." On the Love Island appearance, Kennedy added: "Most of the boys are quite tight with Ouzy so I think he's already had a ribbing about Love Island. That was a couple of years ago now and I don't expect him to be doing anything like that again. "There was a bit of competition to get him, but I think he really bought into the project here and what we are trying to achieve." Kennedy is excited to see how See will link-up with strike partner Cami Elliott, who netted 41 goals for Kilby in their promotion-winning campaign. See hit eight goals for City in 28 appearances last term, but Kennedy insists that it is not just about goals for him. He addeed: "Ouzy will be a very good addition and a great foil for Cami Elliott as well. I think Cami will be here for the foreseeable future and the two of them can work well together. "If you look at Cami, his season before he came back to us wasn't very high in terms of goals but he really hit the levels last season. "Ouzy will score more than eight goals next season, I'm sure, but centre forwards are about more than just goals for us. It is about their abilty to occupy the centre-backs, their ability to run channels or bring other people into play. "Our goals are spread across the team so high number aren't a concern for me, it is more about how they fit into the structure. "In terms of ability and profile, Ouzy and Cami are very similar and I'm looking forward to seeing how they go." Kennedy also revealed he will soon be adding further fresh faces to the ranks. He added: "There will be three or four more signings announced this week and maybe another couple the following week. Things are getting tied up over the next couple of days with agents and then we'll be sorted." Meanwhile, Kennedy has hailed coach Blair Munn after he opted to leave Kilby to pursue a new opportunity after two years at K-Park. He said: "I always tell people that two of the most important decisions you will make in your life are the environments you place yourself in and the people you surround yourself with. One of the best decisions I have made in life was inviting Blair on to my coaching staff, we have shared so many great moments together, built memories that will last a lifetime. "Blair is someone I have grown to admire, respect and love. I will miss him dearly, but I'm grateful for having him in my life, our friendship goes far beyond football, I will miss him not being at my side on the training ground and in the dugout. "EK's loss will now become someone else gain, I'm sure he will go on and be a great success in his new role. We wish him nothing but good fortune and success. Take care my friend."

Loose Women star says she 'always loathed it' as she slams ITV show over one major issue
One Loose Women icon has called out ITV bosses for enforcing one rule during her lengthy stint on the show which used to make her 'shudder'. Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has slammed ITV bosses for their approach to styling the programme's presenters. The 64-year-old expressed how she did not agree with the enforced dress codes and claimed that the presenters transitioned from wearing what they wanted, to being instructed on what to wear for coordination. She also voiced concerns regarding the amount of clothing waste, alleging that some garments were thrown away even if they'd only been worn once. Carol previously had two stints on Loose Women, first from 2000 until 2013, and then again from 2018 until 2023. In an article for Best UK, she said: "I did Loose Women for almost 20 years and the mandated dress codes used to exhaust me. "We went from wearing our own clothes to being bought stuff to adhere to ludicrous wardrobe policies like 'no arms on show', presumably because our ageing biceps were morphing into bingo wings. I always loathed being 'dressed' or 'styled' as they preferred to call it. "You always had to be coordinated up to the eyeballs in nice slacks, wrap dresses or boiler suits. "It used to make me shudder, nearly as much as the insane amount of waste on unimaginable amounts of clothes that had mostly only been worn once". This is not the first time Carol has spoken negatively about Loose Women in recent years, the Mirror reports. In a conversation with Woman's Own last year, she opened up on her reasons for leaving and her feelings regarding her career move. She said: "I don't regret leaving, I don't fit in there anymore." Her bold remarks mirror a past statement she made to OK! magazine while speaking about the show. She previously said: "Someone, somewhere will be offended by absolutely everything. "I'd rather not be on a show that panders to that. It's boring – and I won't be told what I can or can't say." While she has now parted ways with the show, and has little good to say about her former ITV role, Carol remains in touch with some of her former co-stars. Although she shares warmer relationships with a select handful of them. She explained: "I'm still very good friends with a lot of the Loose ladies... Denise Welch popped down here with Lincoln [Townley, her husband] last year and we met them for lunch. "I've seen Kaye [Adams], Jane [Moore] and Nadia [Sawalha] a few times." Carol addressed those she does no longer speak to, saying: "Some, I have nothing in common with. "As I said to them, 'You're not friends, you're just people I work with, who I really like.' Which horrified them."
