This blend of world-class international athletes and exceptional home-grown talent sets the stage for an exhilarating second season.
Eeshan Lokhande, Co-Founder, Indian Supercross Racing League, said, 'The overwhelming response we've seen in just the first three weeks of Season 2 registrations highlights ISRL's growing stature in the global motorsport arena. The swift return of all our top athletes from Season 1, along with a surge of new entries, is a powerful testament to the success and influence of our debut season. It's a strong validation that fuels our team's passion to take Season 2 to new heights to deliver a world-class experience for both riders and fans. We remain committed to pushing boundaries and further cementing ISRL's status as a premier global Supercross destination,' as quoted from a release by ISRL.
Matt Moss said, 'Yeah so the first season, obviously really good. I'm genuinely happy with how it all went. Traveling over was definitely a cultural shock at first, but in the best way possible. The people were amazing, the hospitality was top-notch, and above all, the racing was excellent. I'm looking forward to Season 2 and seeing what new additions and changes it brings. It's exciting to see even more interest this time around, with riders coming in from the USA, France, and even more from Australia. I think the competition is going to step up--guys like Jordi and others will definitely keep us on our toes. I'm really looking forward to that and can't wait for Season 2 to kick off.'
Rugved Barguje said, 'Riding on a proper Supercross track in India felt like a dream come true. I was thrilled to compete in the Asia Mix category, but unfortunately, I was dealing with a thumb injury. Still, the adrenaline rush kept me going throughout the races. Now, with Season 2 approaching, I'm fully recovered and in a much better shape to ride. This time, my goal is clear- to secure a podium finish.'
Jordi Tixier noted, 'Season 1 of ISRL truly exceeded my expectations, it was an outstanding experience. I genuinely enjoyed the people, the track, and the incredible energy of the fans. What stood out to me most was how passionate and dedicated the founders and team ISRL are to the sport. You could see their efforts reflected in every race, constantly evolving, improving, and listening to rider feedback. The growth from the first race in Pune to the final round in Bangalore was impressive. It's clear they're not just organizing an event, but building something special for the future of Supercross.'
Brendan Sipple said, 'I feel blessed to have been a part of Season 1. The tracks were amazing, the racing was intense, and the fans brought unmatched energy--it was just an all-round unforgettable experience journey. The teams and the overall organization were top-notch. The people behind the scenes worked tirelessly to ensure us, as riders, had everything we needed. They made sure the tracks were dialed in and that the entire event reflected the best of Supercross motorsport history. I'm really looking forward to coming back for Season 2. I'm excited to see what's in store, to race in new cities, and to represent teams that are passionate about growing Supercross in India. It's amazing to witness the sport gaining momentum here, and I can't wait to be part of it again.'
The ISRL is set to return bigger and bolder, with Salman Khan joining as the official brand ambassador, boosting its visibility and appeal among mainstream audiences. Season 2 will run from October to December 2025, featuring multiple rounds across Indian cities and three racing categories, 450cc international, 250cc international, and 250cc India-Asia mix. Rider registration is open, with the mega auction coming soon. (ANI)

'It was pretty benign wicket, going to be a real challenge': AUS assistant coach on sides WTC win chances after Markram-Bavuma stand
London [UK], June 14 (ANI): Following a tough day three at field during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa, Australian assistant coach Daniel Vettori hailed Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram for their partnership and acknowledged that getting rest of the wickets for 69 remaining runs would be a "real challenge". Markram's historic Lord's ton, first-ever by a Proteas player in an ICC tournament final, and his 143-run unbeaten stand with skipper Temba Bavuma have left SA just 69 runs short with eight wickets to go in pursuit of their first-ever world title in the sport. During the presser, Vettori acknowledged it was a tough day for the team and under the sunshine, bowling became difficult. "I think there was optimism in the way we started with Starc and Hazlewood (while batting, a 59-run stand). There was a really good partnership to put together a total that obviously, considering the rest of the how the match had played out, was a challenging one. But under those conditions, Markram and Bavuma were exceptional and were able just to, I suppose, navigate their way through any tricky situations and then be able to put pressure back on us when it was opportune time. So it was a pretty benign wicket and obviously conditions were not assisting the ball, but that partnership was exceptional." Vettori said that the team is aware of the magnitude of their task and the situation remains tricky for them. He expressed hope that conditions go in their favour. "But I think with the nature of where the ball is at and the surface, it is a difficult task, but it is a task that the group has probably done at times throughout the last three, four, some of them five, six, even longer years. But I think there is an appreciation of how well Bavuma and Markram batted to put all that pressure back on us. So, to get one of them tonight may have given that optimism. So it is going to be a real challenge tomorrow," he added. On Steve Smith's finger injury after dropping Temba's catch at slips, Vettori said that the team will "just wait and see what comes back after he gets back from hospital. And then everyone will be able to update from there." Speaking on his bowlers and if they could have used more variations, Vettori said that someone like Mitchell Starc does it naturally. "He does that naturally and his ability to change his length and potentially swing the ball both ways. I think the success that has come from the surface has been that six to eight meter length. That is what South Africa did so well. That is what we did in the first innings. So there is sometimes an appetite for that, but there is also a concern around the score running away from us," he said. "And sometimes when you go to that short ball stuff, it is hard to control the scoreboard. And that was probably our fear today, that if we could hang in those areas long enough, something would happen, like it has in the rest of the test match, but it was not to be," he added. South Africa has reached 213 runs in 56 overs, led by a century-run partnership between Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma. Despite a hamstring injury, SA captain Bavuma has fought through to register a half-century. Earlier in the day, A fine half-century partnership between Aiden Markram and Wiaan Mulder put South Africa in a solid spot at the end of the second session during day three of the WTC final at Lord's on Friday. At the end of the session, SA was 94/2, with skipper Temba Bavuma (11*) and Markram (49*) unbeaten. Starc played one of the finest innings of his life, which powered Australia to 207/10 from a poor position of 152/9, leading by 281 at lunch. Starc remained not out on 58, leaving Proteas to chase 282 to end their ICC title drought. Brief Scores: Australia: 212 and 207 (Mitchell Starc 58*, Alex Carey 43, Kagiso Rabada 4/59) against SA: 138 and 213/2 (Aiden Markram 102*, Temba Bavuma 65*, Mitchell Starc 2/37). (ANI)

Haryana's International Yoga Day state-level event to be held at Kurukshetra
New Delhi [India], June 13 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said that preparations are underway to make the upcoming 11th International Yoga Day, to be celebrated on June 21, a historic event. On this day, yoga programmes will be organized simultaneously across all 22 districts and 121 blocks of the state, with participation of over 11 lakh people. This year's state-level programme will be held at the sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra, the very site from where Lord Krishna delivered the message of karma to the world. Renowned yoga guru Swami Ramdev will personally lead the yoga session at this iconic venue, he said. The Chief Minister further shared that the aim is to ensure participation of over one lakh people, not only to popularize yoga but also to set a new world record. The Chief Minister was addressing a Yoga Protocol Training Camp organized jointly by the AYUSH Department, Haryana Yog Aayog, and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at the ITBP BTC, Bhanu, in Panchkula on Friday, a release said. During the event, the Chief Minister, along with other dignitaries and ITBP personnel, observed two minutes of silence to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash and prayed for their souls' peace. Paying tribute to the incredible contribution of ITBP personnel, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that this institution is a living embodiment of discipline, service, dedication, and patriotism. He said that ITBP soldiers guard our northeastern borders in harsh conditions day and night. Be it disaster relief, internal security, or international sports, ITBP has always taken a lead role. Praising the Haryana Yog Aayog, he said that the Aayog is promoting yoga to ensure the well-being of our central security forces. Today's Yoga Protocol Training Camp holds special significance as it is being held just a week before the 11th International Yoga Day in 2025. CM said that the camp is especially important because it is dedicated to those protecting our borders. Yoga not only promotes health but also instills team spirit, cooperation, and discipline - making it deeply connected with our armed forces, he said. The Chief Minister said that the celebrations of the 11th International Yoga Day in Haryana had already commenced on May 27, with yoga programmes being organized across the state. So far, over 15.60 lakh people have participated in these programmes. He shared that more than 61,000 medicinal plants have been planted during these events. A Yoga Awareness campaign is also being carried out, which will reach 5,000 villages in the state by June 19. Institutions like Patanjali Yogpeeth, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Brahma Kumaris, and Art of Living are holding yoga camps at 2,500 locations across the state. The Chief Minister said that under the Harit Yoga Campaign, 10 lakh medicinal plants will be distributed till June 21. Additionally, a dedicated government portal has received 7,65,500 registrations for participation in the International Yoga Day event on June 21, he said. He further said that yoga is a gift from our sages, but over time this ancient tradition faded, impacting humanity. Thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. Today, countries around the world have adopted yoga. Yoga is now a way of life not just in India but globally, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. He said that to promote yoga, the state government has constructed 714 vyayamshalas and appointed 877 AYUSH Yoga Sahayak. These vyayamshalas will also host programs on June 21. The Chief Minister emphasized that the Prime Minister envisions India becoming a developed nation by 2047, and each of us has a vital role in achieving that goal. He urged everyone to embrace the knowledge of yoga and spread its benefits to others. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered a pledge for a Yog yukt-Nasha mukt Haryana. He planted a sapling on the premises of the ITBP BTC under the 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam' campaign. AYUSH and Health Minister Kumari Arti Singh Rao said that the theme for the 11th International Yoga Day is 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', reminding us that human health is deeply connected to the health of the environment and all living beings. She said that Yoga is not just a physical activity but a global message of balance, holistic development, and wellness. Under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, the Haryana Government has transformed yoga from an individual practice into a mass movement. Over 10 lakh citizens are participating in yoga-related activities across the state. At the district level, yoga marathons, awareness drives, and group yoga sessions are being conducted. Research activities are also being carried out at all government medical colleges, she said. The Minister further shared that under the Harit Yoga initiative, 10 lakh medicinal plants are being planted. Plantation drives and cleanliness campaigns are being organised at all yoga venues, integrating yoga with environmental responsibility. From police lines to the Vidhan Sabha, and from border security forces to schools, every corner of Haryana is resonating with the energy of yoga, she said. Chairman, Haryana Yog Aayog, Dr Jaideep Arya, emphasised that yoga is not merely an exercise but a way of life that inspires individuals to maintain balance in every situation. Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, he said, 'Yogasthah kuru karmani' - perform every action established in yoga. He said that for soldiers posted in extreme climates like Siachen at -40C, yoga becomes a crucial source of physical and mental strength. Troops stationed at the borders have incorporated yoga and asanas into their daily routines, setting inspiring examples, shared Dr. Jaideep Arya. He further noted that organizing the state-level Yoga Day celebration at Kurukshetra, the sacred land of the Gita, is of immense significance. On this occasion, Brigadier J.S. Goraya, Commandant Sh. Gill, Rahul score fifties in intra-squad practice match against India A ahead of England Test
Beckenham [UK], June 13 (ANI): Indian skipper Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were among the runs while Shardul Thakur delivered a solid performance with the ball on Day 1 of the intra-squad match between the Indian senior side and India A at Beckenham on Friday. The official X handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted some pictures from the match. 'Beckenham. A solid Opening Day in the Intra-Squad game! Half-centuries for KL Rahul & Captain Shubman Gill. Shardul Thakur amongst the wickets,' posted BCCI. KL Rahul had also slammed scores of 116 and 51 during the second unofficial Test against England Lions at Northampton. Gill, who has a poor average of 14.66 in England and has scored just 88 runs in six innings across three matches here with a best score of 28, will take plenty of confidence from his knock. Thakur, who scored knocks of 27 (in first unofficial Test) and 19 and 34 (in the second unofficial Test) against England Lions and also took two wickets against them, also got some valuable game time as he battles a young Nitish Kumar Reddy for the spot of a pace-bowling all-rounder in the team. India's first Test against England at Leeds from June 20 will mark the start of a new era under newly-appointed captain Shubman Gill, as he aims to lead a new-look team to glory following the retirements of stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Tests and Ravichandran Ashwin from international cricket. The series will be held from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
