HONOR 400 Series Launches with AI Camera and Editor
HONOR has officially announced the launch of its new HONOR 400 Series in the Middle East and Africa. The premium event was held in Dubai and themed 'HONOR AI Wonderverse.'
The company revealed that the event combined Arabic aesthetics with futuristic design, reflecting a fusion of heritage and innovation. Guests explored the new AI Creative Editor in various interactive zones.
HONOR reported that the HONOR 400 Series brings powerful AI features, including: A 200MP Ultra-Clear AI Camera with Super Zoom (50x on HONOR 400 Pro, 30x on HONOR 400)

The HONOR 400 also features an elegant nature-inspired design. It is available for pre-order in Midnight Black, Meteor Silver, and Desert Gold. Prices start at AED 1399. Pre-orders come with free gifts worth AED 897, including Earbuds S7, a Louvre Abu Dhabi Phone Case, and HONOR Care coverage.
Meanwhile, the HONOR 400 Pro is priced at AED 2499. It is available in Midnight Black, Lunar Grey, and Tidal Blue. Customers pre-ordering will receive gifts worth AED 1396, such as Earbuds Clip, HONOR CHOICE Watch, and additional protection under HONOR Care.
Pre-orders can be made through the HONOR Online Store, HONOR Experience Store, Sharaf DG, Emax, Jumbo, Lulu, Carrefour, Eros, Etisalat by e&, Du, Virgin Megastore, Amazon, noon, KM Trading, Ecity, and other retail partners.
HONOR revealed the devices feature AI-powered MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15. The OS includes AI Subtitles, AI Translation, and HONOR Connect for cross-platform syncing. It also introduces AI Magic Portal 2.0 and Deepfake Detection.
The brand confirmed it will offer six years of Android updates and extended security patches through 2030.
Performance-wise, the HONOR 400 Series is equipped with a 6000mAh battery. The Pro model supports 100W HONOR SuperCharge. Both devices are designed for durability, with the Pro version certified with IP68 and IP69 ratings.
HONOR continues its collaboration with Google to deliver the latest Android features to users. The launch sets a new standard for AI-driven smartphone experiences in the region.

UAE Central Bank gold reserves rise 26% in five months
The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) increased its gold reserves by 25.899 per cent during the first five months of the year to AED 28.933 billion at the end of May, up from AED 22.981 billion at the end of December 2024. According to the Central Bank's statistical bulletin issued on Wednesday, the CBUAE's gold holdings rose by 0.49 per month, month-on-month in May, to AED 28.791 billion at the end of April. Statistics showed that demand deposits also grew, exceeding AED 1.166 trillion by the end of May, compared to AED 1.109 trillion at the end of December 2024. Of this total, AED 892.577 billion were in local currency and AED 74.329 billion in foreign currencies. Savings deposits rose to AED 359.57 billion at the end of May, up from AED 317.48 billion at the end of December 2024. This included AED 305.508 billion in local currency and AED 54.062 billion in foreign currencies. Time deposits exceeded AED1billion for the first time by the end of May, including AED614.854 billion in local currency and AED 398.348 billion in foreign currencies.

Foldable smartphones are poised for a bright future, fuelled by strong consumer demand, particularly in emerging markets, as competition among major brands intensifies, according to an industry veteran. Laurance Li, Country Manager at HONOR – GCC, proudly highlighted that the HONOR Magic V5 has set new standards in the foldable smartphone category and is expected to dominate the global market, thanks to its appeal among tech-savvy consumers in the Middle East and North Africa. 'The future of smartphones lies in the foldable segment,' Li stated in an exclusive interview with BTR. 'Tech-savvy consumers won't compromise on the size and quality of their devices when it comes to balancing their professional responsibilities and personal entertainment, especially with innovative products like the Magic V5,' he said. Laurance Li expressed confidence in the burgeoning demand for foldable smartphones, noting that HONOR plans to release more variants to meet the rising needs of consumers worldwide this year. According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the foldable smartphone market is projected to grow significantly, reaching 45.7 million units by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.3% from 2023 to 2028. While the foldable segment is expanding rapidly, it still accounts for a relatively small share of the overall smartphone market. The IDC forecasts a 37.6% increase in foldable phone shipments for 2024, predicting a rise from 18.1 million units in 2023 to 25 million units shipped in 2024. The report also indicates that emerging markets will largely drive this growth as prices decrease and more brands enter the foldable smartphone arena. By processing everything locally on the device, it ensures complete privacy, with no audio data sent externally. This real-time translation feature enables smooth phone conversations between users who speak different languages, with only one party needing to use an HONOR device. AI photography: The HONOR AI Super Zoom uses an on-device AI RAW model to improve image clarity and sharpness up to 30x zoom, ensuring clear and detailed photos. For zoom levels beyond 30x, cloud processing is used to further enhance image quality. AI Security: HONOR Deepfake Detection also operates fully on-device to identify AI-generated face manipulations during video calls. 'While we don't publish market share by country, internal data shows that HONOR is the fastest-growing tech brand in the MENA region, with shipments rising over 83% — a milestone no other smartphone brand here has achieved. In the UAE alone, our sales in the first half of 2025 increased by 75% compared to the same period in 2024. Our HONOR Magic V3 doubled foldable shipments, and our HONOR 400 series grew by 200%, showing that more consumers are choosing HONOR for both foldable and flagship smartphones,' Laurance Li explained. In reply to a question, he said the HONOR Magic V5 addresses the toughest challenges in foldable technology — battery life, durability, and hinge strength. It features the industry's largest silicon-carbon battery in a foldable, delivering a 5,820mAh capacity with 15% high-silicon content. 'Our HONOR Super Steel Hinge withstands 500,000 folds and can support up to 100kgs controlled conditions.
