A key feature of Pebble's current offering is Automation 2.0, which supports multi-site workflows, remote access and disaster recovery, all from a unified interface.
Pebble is turning its vision to the future of broadcast automation with a comprehensive showcase of its latest innovations at IBC 2025, taking place from 12 to 15 September at the Amsterdam RAI. The company will present solutions designed to manage increasingly complex broadcast operations while maintaining the speed and precision demanded by modern audiences.
Peter Mayhead, CEO of Pebble, said: 'In this hugely competitive field, broadcasters need to be able to react to unpredictability. Operations are complex, but viewers expect the highest standards and precise control. Live events only amplify these demands, requiring real-time decisions, rapid response, and flawless execution. Pebble's automation solutions are designed to handle this pace and complexity, giving operators the confidence to deliver with speed and accuracy.'
Mayhead continued: 'We see the future for automation as providing support so that the smartest decisions are made, creating valuable competitive and operational benefits.'
Pebble software is capable of managing everything from single-channel systems to expansive multi-service, multi-tenant facilities. The platform can control both best-of-breed component architectures and Pebble's Integrated Channel engine, and supports SDI, SMPTE ST2110, and NDI content flows with equal efficiency.
Pebble is an active supporter of industry initiatives to standardise interoperability in IP architectures. 'The real benefits of software-defined architectures lie in responsive agility,' Mayhead stated. 'Intelligence in the automation platform, combined with a readily reconfigurable architecture, give broadcasters and content enterprises the flexibility to respond instantly.'
A key feature of Pebble's current offering is Automation 2.0, which supports multi-site workflows, remote access, and disaster recovery, all from a unified interface. The platform includes 'Remote,' a web-based monitoring and control system that enables authorised users to interact with broadcast systems securely from anywhere, at any time. Built-in redundancy and robust cybersecurity measures further enhance operational resilience and protection.
Mayhead stated: 'The future will be built on innovation in content, presentation, and monetisation. Broadcasters and network operators around the world turn to Pebble because they recognise our ability to not only provide a solid technological foundation but also to help them navigate the increasing complexity of live, real-time broadcasts, enabling them to maintain precision, reliability, and speed in this ever-evolving industry.'

Hitomi Broadcast to demonstrates MatchBox Everywhere at IBC

New software solutions expand reliable timing measurement capabilities across broadcast, live venues, and professional AV environments. Hitomi Broadcast, the market leader in audio/video alignment and latency tools, will showcase its expanded MatchBox ecosystem at IBC 2025. The company will demonstrate how its trusted timing measurement technology now addresses latency challenges across diverse environments, from traditional broadcast facilities to venue production, consumer devices and medical applications. Hitomi's new software solutions create a comprehensive ecosystem that connects different parts of the broadcast chain, enabling teams to share analysis resources and measure timing accuracy from camera to final distribution. At IBC 2025, Hitomi will demonstrate its 'glass-to-glass' measurement capability, showing how end-to-end latency can be precisely measured from camera capture through to final display. This addresses the critical need for understanding timing throughout the entire signal path as direct-to-consumer streaming becomes more prevalent. Russell Johnson, Director at Hitomi, said: 'As the world becomes more software-focused, so does Hitomi. We're moving with the times to provide broadcasters with the peace of mind that comes from knowing their content is perfectly timed, regardless of delivery method. We have been working with a number of trusted partners to bring our timing capabilities within places where it's never been before.' Stand 10.A42

BCNEXXT to showcase next-gen Vipe playout platform at IBC 2025

At IBC 2025, cloud-native broadcasting solutions provider BCNEXXT is set to debut a new version of its cutting-edge playout platform, Vipe. Designed for operational efficiency, Vipe's pre-assembly, exception-based architecture drastically reduces infrastructure demands and operator-to-channel ratios, while delivering an industry-leading 99.9999% reliability. Backed by a seasoned team, BCNEXXT is challenging long-held assumptions about playout operations. Graham Sharp, VP of Sales and Marketing at BCNEXXT, said: 'Misconceptions still persist around assembling and rendering content ahead of playout time, but the operators of over 500 channels can't be wrong! We've developed a groundbreaking architecture that leverages containerised microservices to scale resources to the complexity of the content being played out: premium event channels; no problem, late-breaking news; no problem, file-based, fast, and thematic channels – easy! Delivered on-prem or in the cloud with 6 x 9's reliability, unrivaled efficiency, and agility. It's time to take a look at the true financial and operational benefits Vipe provides.' 'Vipe's ability to dynamically deploy resources reduces waste and maximises value,' added Sharp. 'We break the traditional one server to one channel relationship, even with on-prem servers, where usage is averaged over both time and channels. This flexibility particularly benefits dynamic use cases like occasional event-based programming by significantly lowering the number of servers required.' The core innovation lies in moving playout operations ahead of airtime, eliminating the risks of last-minute rendering and allowing critical workflows like quality control to occur during standard working hours. This strategic shift enhances predictability and resilience while lowering operational stress. Vipe's exception-based approach automates routine tasks, only requiring human intervention when content falls outside defined parameters or during live broadcasts. This system breaks away from the traditional one-server-per-channel model, instead leveraging resource averaging across channels and time to reduce server usage, particularly for occasional or event-based content. BCNEXXT reports up to 75% reduction in operating costs for a 24-hour channel carrying limited live content. Alongside these operational efficiencies, BCNEXXT has a powerful new features in Vipe's latest iteration. These include AI-powered live subtitling workflows supporting multiple languages and ensuring compliance with the European Accessibility Act; real-time voice synthesis for seamless multilingual dubbing; full support for HDR using Hybrid Log-Gamma for premium visuals; and immersive Dolby Atmos audio for high-quality sound across platforms. Additional automation for ingest, metadata enrichment, scheduling, and quality control also reduces manual workloads and shortens time-to-air. For those looking to explore BCNEXXT's innovations in more depth, the company encourages downloading its updated playbook Transform Your Media Business Through Efficient Content Delivery, offering practical guidance for optimizing modern media workflows. IBC2025 will take place at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam from 12–15 September. Broadcasters and media professionals interested in exploring how Vipe is shaping the future of playout are invited to schedule a one-on-one meeting.
