Why is Ravi Mohan going to High Court in Rs 9 crore case? All we know about his fight against production house
Ravi Mohan files a lawsuit against a production house
As per a report by News18, Ravi Mohan has alleged that he provided a call sheet for 80 days, but the company failed to begin production. This apparently led him to suffer a huge loss, leading to the lawsuit.
The PS 1 actor alleged that he provided dates from January to March of 2025; during this time, he had to give up other movies owing to his contract with the production house.
Moreover, the contract automatically expired after a period, which led him to take on new projects. However, the producers are said to have served a notice to Ravi, seeking a return on the advance of Rs 6 crore they once paid the actor.
Interestingly, the defamation lawsuit has clearly stated that the actor is willing to return the advance payment, but the production house now retorts and says that Ravi Mohan breached their contract by working in Parasakthi.
The Madras High Court has now ordered the production company to further respond by July 23, 2025.
Ravi Mohan's work front
Ravi Mohan was last seen in the lead role in the movie Kadhalikka Neramillai. The romantic comedy, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and co-starring Nithya Menen, was loosely based on the 2010 American film The Switch, which starred Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman.
The film tells the story of a young woman who dreams of having a family but struggles as she falls for a man who has no interest in marriage or children. This leads to a series of humorous moments and explores whether she ultimately finds her true love.
The actor is next set to appear as the main antagonist for the Sivakarthikeyan starrer flick, Parasakthi. The movie directed by Sudha Kongara is touted to be a period political drama with Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali in key roles.

Saiyaara director Mohit Suri thanks Sandeep Reddy Vanga for ‘being the first one to openly support' his film
Mohit Suri may have directed one of the most successful romantic films in recent memory with Saiyaara, but he's a self-proclaimed fan of another filmmaker. Suri recently expressed his admiration of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, best known for helming Arjun Reddy (2017), its Hindi remake Kabir Singh (2019), and most recently, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 2023 blockbuster Animal. Suri took to social media on Thursday and shared a note of gratitude for Vanga. 'Sandeep, @imvangasandeep thank you for being the first one to openly support and express your generous belief in Saiyaara. It meant the world coming from a filmmaker whose craft I deeply admire. I've always respected the raw emotion, fearlessness and intensity you bring to your stories. It reminds me why we do what we do to move people, to connect. Grateful to walk this path alongside storytellers like you. Here's to more powerful cinema and always a fan,' wrote the filmmaker. On July 9, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had shared the Saiyaara trailer on social media along with the caption, 'Witnessing a hindi heartland love story completely emphasizing on romance and drama. Who was Chuck Mangione? Grammy-winning jazz icon known for ‘Feels So Good' dies at 84
Charles Frank Mangione, the American jazz great who brought the flugelhorn into the popular music spotlight and captivated audiences with hits like 'Feels So Good', died peacefully in his sleep on July 22, 2025, at his home in Rochester, New York. He was 84. His death was confirmed in a statement by his family shared with the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle on July 24. Over a six-decade career, Mangione released more than 30 albums, scored multiple Grammy Awards, and carved a unique space in the American jazz landscape. Born on November 29, 1940, to Italian-American parents in Rochester, Mangione studied at the prestigious Eastman School of Music and went on to perform with jazz legends, most notably filling the trumpet chair in Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers — a position once held by Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, and Freddie Hubbard. Alongside his pianist brother, Gap, he co-led the Mangione Brothers Sextet/Quintet, recording three albums for Riverside Records in the early 1960s. One of their original compositions, 'Something Different,' caught the attention of alto saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, who included it in his 1961 album African Waltz. Mangione broke into mainstream success in 1978 with 'Feels So Good', a breezy, horn-driven instrumental that became a rare jazz-pop crossover hit, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song helped define a generation of smooth jazz, its signature melody recognized instantly across genres. He also composed iconic Olympic music, including 'Chase the Clouds Away' for the 1976 Montreal Summer Games and 'Give It All You Got' for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid — the latter performed live at the closing ceremony and broadcast worldwide. Mangione's work was frequently honored. He won his first Grammy Award in 1977 for 'Bellavia' in the Best Instrumental Composition category. His second Grammy came two years later for the soundtrack to The Children of Sanchez, which featured sweeping compositions and emotional depth — the title track alone ran nearly 15 minutes. His bands featured top-tier musicians such as saxophonists Gerry Niewood and Chris Vadala, guitarist Grant Geissman, and drummer James Bradley Jr. In 1978, Mangione performed to a sold-out Hollywood Bowl backed by a 70-piece orchestra — a concert immortalized in his live album An Evening of Magic. Beyond the stage, Mangione used his music for charitable causes. In 1980, he organised a nine-hour benefit concert to aid Italian earthquake victims, bringing together stars like Chick Corea and Dizzy Gillespie. His later Tarantella album captured highlights from that performance. At his 60th birthday concert, he raised over $50,000 for St. John's Nursing Home in Rochester. Mangione was also a pop culture fixture. He made TV appearances, including Magnum, P.I., Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show, and most famously, played a recurring animated version of himself on King of the Hill as Mega Lo Mart's celebrity spokesman — a role that earned him a new generation of fans. His 2000 album Everything For Love included a track titled 'Peggy Hill' in tribute to the show.

Metro In Dino 3 Weeks India Box Office: Anurag Basu's movie gradually moves towards Rs 50 crore net club after poor start
Metro... In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and others, has ended its 3rd week at the Indian box office on a slow but steady note, as has been the case for the film throughout its run. After a slow Rs 3.25 crore net start, it seemed as though there will be no way the movie will be able to manage even decent numbers. Dino Did Well To Hold Its Own Amidst Competition With Jurassic World: Rebirth and F1 doing the business that they were, and with Superman and a couple of other reasonably sized Bollywood films like Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan hitting theatres immediate after, it looked like the movie would get completely sandwiched by its competition. That however didn't happen to be the case as Dino stood its ground, week after week. It netted Rs 25.45 crore in week 1 and dropped by less than 40 percent in week 2, as it collected Rs 16.25 crore. In week 3, the movie has added Rs 6.65 crore. These are excellent numbers considering that blockbuster Saiyaara hit the screens in this week. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Dino Are As Under Particulars India Net Collection Week 1 Rs 25.45 crore Week 2 Rs 16.25 crore 3rd Friday Rs 1 crore 3rd Saturday Rs 1.70 crore 3rd Sunday Rs 2 crore 3rd Monday Rs 50 lakh 3rd Tuesday Rs 60 lakh 3rd Wednesday Rs 45 lakh 3rd Thursday Rs 40 lakh Total Rs 48.35 crore in 3 weeks Dino Looks To End Its India Run Netting Rs 55 Crore With Rs 48.35 crore net after 3 weeks, the musical romance is just inches away from the Rs 50 crore mark. It is likely to end its run in the vicinity of Rs 55 crore net (Rs 66 crore gross). The overseas collections are expected to end at an above-expected USD 1.4 million (12 crore gross), meaning that the movie will end up with a gross total of Rs 78 crore. This is not a solid or even a good number. But it shall be looked at respectfully since it opened to numbers where even a Rs 40 crore worldwide looked like a distant dream. Dino May Barely Breakeven BUT... Due to high production costs, the movie may just about breakeven at the box office. Had the costs been managed well, this could have been a profitable movie. All is not lost as T-series stands to gain big from the film's music. The music of Dino is a bonafied hit. Dino In Theatres Dino still plays in select theatres across the globe. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
