Report: Bucks GM Jon Horst agrees to extension
The Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a multiyear contract extension with general manager Jon Horst, ESPN reported Thursday.
The deal came together late Wednesday night between ownership and Horst's agent, Brian Elfus, per the report.
Horst, 42, has been the Milwaukee GM since June 2017, winning NBA Executive of the Year honors in 2019 and leading the Bucks to their first championship in 50 years in 2021.
Milwaukee has been to the playoffs in all eight seasons under Horst, who previously was the manager of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons (2007-08) and director of basketball operations for the Bucks (2008-17).
This season, the Bucks (48-34) earned the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They trail 2-0 in their best-of-seven first-round series with the Indiana Pacers, with Game 3 on Friday night in Milwaukee.

Brewers calling up top pitching prospect who throws 103 MPH
The post Brewers calling up top pitching prospect who throws 103 MPH appeared first on ClutchPoints. The time has come for the Milwaukee Brewers to call up their top pitching prospect, Jacob Misiorowski. The right-hander is MLB Pipeline's No. 30 overall prospect, and he has the potential to be an elite strikeout pitcher. Misiorowski can reach 103 MPH on his fastball. The MLB is starting to see this velocity more and more, and while it can be dangerous, it is fun to see. Misiorowski is a former second-round pick out of Crowder College. At 23 years old, he is entering the prime of his career, and his minor league numbers were too good to wait any longer. According to Baseball Reference, in 13 appearances and 12 starts this season in the minors, the right-hander is 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA, with 80 strikeouts, 31 walks, and 1.09 WHIP in 63.1 innings. He adds a 5.4 H9, 0.6 HR9, 4.4 BB9, and 11.4 SO9. He is more than ready to make his MLB Debut, which will be this Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals at home. Milwaukee has been dealing with a few pitching injuries, so this move is coming at the right time. Brandon Woodruff has more injury concerns, and his return to the rotation has been delayed after a recent injury scare. Milwaukee isn't calling up Misiorowski with the intention of sending him back down. If the young hurler pitches well, he will keep a rotation spot. When healthy, a rotation filled with Misiorowski, Woodruff, Freddy Peralta, Jose Quintana, and Aaron Civale is respectable. Chad Patrick and Quinn Priester have pitched well this season and deserve to be in contention. They also have Logan Henderson, who is off to a fantastic start to his MLB career. However, he was optioned to Triple-A on Monday. With Woodruff not expected back for a few more weeks, the Brewers could continue with a six-man rotation in the meantime. At 36 years old, Quintana is still pitching well enough to keep a starting position. The Brewers are coming off a 7-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Monday for Game 1 of the 3-game series. They aim to bounce back and win the series ahead of the debut on Thursday for Misiorowski.

Yet, this has not stopped speculation about Antetokounmpo potentially requesting a trade in the coming months. Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo during game five of the first round for the 2024 NBA Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Ruszkowski-Imagn Images During an interview with Coast to Coast Brazil, Antetokounmpo spoke about wanting to get the Bucks back to the NBA Finals, indicating the star's mind is on remaining in Milwaukee. Brian Windhorst Sends Strong Message on Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade
Brian Windhorst Sends Strong Message on Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the NBA offseason heats up, one name continues to spark speculation across the league Giannis Antetokounmpo. With teams like the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors, and Houston Rockets reportedly interested, fans are eager to see if a blockbuster deal might go down. The idea of Antetokounmpo teaming up with another superstar has dominated trade chatter, especially after Damian Lillard's Achilles injury, which could sideline him for much of the 2024-25 season. Advertisement However, recent developments have poured cold water on those rumors. ESPN's Brian Windhorst addressed the speculation directly and made it clear: a trade is not happening right now. Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) looks on in the final seconds of the game against the Indiana Pacers during game four of first round for the 2024 NBA Playoffs at Fiserv Sieu-Imagn Images 'There is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade market, there is no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade discussions,' Windhorst said on Get Up. 'He has not asked for it. The Bucks are not looking to trade him.' Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP, has spent his entire 12-year career with the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite three straight first-round playoff exits since their 2021 title win, there's no indication from the player or the franchise that a breakup is imminent. While trade ideas have swirled including a three-team proposal by Bleacher Report that would send him to New York they remain just that ideas. Advertisement Windhorst also pointed out that if Antetokounmpo were to hit the market, every team in the league would line up with offers. "The Bucs are not looking to trade him and I just want to point something out about Carl Towns. Everybody in New York may want to trade him. He is an in his prime all NBA player that contributed significantly to the Knicks going the farthest they have in 25 years," Windhorst said. For now, Antetokounmpo remains committed to Milwaukee, and the Bucks are holding their ground. While the NBA world watches closely, Windhorst's message serves as a clear reminder don't expect any Antetokounmpo trade fireworks just yet.
