"Not Scheduled At This Time": US Dismisses Reports On Trump's Pak Visit
The White House on Friday shunned media reports circling around US President Donald Trump's visit to Pakistan, stating that there has been no such presidential travel plans.
"A trip to Pakistan has not been scheduled at this time", the White House confirmed to ANI.
The White House has not announced or confirmed any such travel arrangements, contrary to what has been reported by news channels in Pakistan.
There have been reports circulating in Pakistani news outlets regarding potential presidential travel plans.
Earlier in the day, some local television news channels reported, citing sources, that Trump was expected to visit Pakistan in September. The news channels said that Trump would also visit India after arriving in Islamabad in September. The channels later withdrew their reports, Dawn reported.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan told Dawn, "We have no information about this matter."
George W Bush was the last US president to visit Pakistan in 2006.
As about Trump's travel plans, US White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday (local time) said that he will visit Scotland from July 25-July 29.
Leavitt said that Trump is set to hold trade-related talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during the visit.
"US President Donald Trump will travel to Scotland, where he will visit both Turnberry and Aberdine from July 25-July 29. During the visit, Trump will meet again with Prime Minister Starmer to refine the great trade deal that was brokered between the United States and the United Kingdom," she said.
Leavitt further said that Trump and First Lady Melania will visit Windsor Castle to meet King Charles later this year.
"And the President and the First Lady will travel to the United Kingdom for an official state visit from September 17-September 19 later this fall. This will mark a truly unprecedented second state visit for President Trump and he is honoured and looking forward to meeting with His Majesty the King at Windsor Castle," she said.

Govt keeps tabs on capex as private investment lags
Representational Image NEW DELHI: Govt is keeping a close watch on capex as private investment remains weak, some of which may be on account of the global uncertainty induced by the US President Donald Trump's tariff regime. During April-May, Centre's capital expenditure has been higher with ministries and departments spending 20% of their allocation for the year, compared with 13% in the first two months of the last fiscal year. Over the last five years, capex by the Centre has been a key policy tool to boost investment in the economy with the expectation that the multiplier effect will generate demand for inputs and create jobs and spur private investment. The private sector has, however, largely watched from the sidelines barring sectors such as cement and steel where companies are lining up investment to meet the demand created by public investment in roads & railways. There has been heightened activity in sectors such as electronics, induced by schemes such as PLI. But overall capacity utilisation is not seen at levels where companies would ramp up investment to set up new production lines. In sectors such as automobiles and energy, the shift towards greener technologies is resulting in some investments being held up, industry sources said. While acknowledging the weak private investment, govt sources said efforts are being made to understand the measures that may be needed to boost activity. Further, the sources said, some of the central projects may not have more absorptive capacity to step up capex and govt may explore newer segments of the economy to divert more public investment. These could include spaces such as urban infrastructure with the finance ministry and other wings of govt expected to hold discussions in the coming months. Given the needs of the economy and the growth expected in coming years, the focus on capex is going to remain, with private sector expected to take the baton sooner or later. For the current fiscal year, the Centre has budgeted for capex of Rs 11.4 lakh crore of which nearly half is allocated to roads and railways. Putin Dollar Shock For Trump After BRICS Declaration? Russia's Big De-Dollarisation Announcement Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov clarified that BRICS nations don't aim to replace the US dollar, but rather seek alternatives for mutual settlements to circumvent US sanctions. He stated BRICS intends to trade in national currencies, with Russia already conducting 90% of payments with partners in local denominations. This counters US President Trump's concerns and threats of tariffs on BRICS countries, who are also developing "BRICS Pay," a decentralized blockchain payment system for cross-border transactions. 42.2K views | 11 hours ago
